For me Lightning Collection is all about crazy monsters of the week.
It's his Power Lance. It only breaks into two parts when they create the Power Blaster
Well the Power Lance was also used in its dual form in combat as well. But yes we see Blue use the lance in its double trident form more often
Billy still. He is the true definition of the Genius Bruiser and he had one of the most recognizable character development along with Tommy. I even met the actor David Yost, my idol and it was a breathtaking experience...
Btw Anthony his weapon is called the Power Lance.
Zach has always been my favorite ranger. I was so upset when he left in the 2nd season. Years later I realized Adam was great, but Zach will always be my favorite.
The drop down joint is ok if done right. The Dragon Ball models use it to make the pants look clean in a neutral pose. And some Shodo Kamen Rider figures have them, and its weird because of how small they are, but works. They literally snap between up or down position, there is no in between.

Other than the morphers being an easy accessory (since they could have just made it from a sculpt of the belt), I wonder if the morphers will be reused for civilian figures of the rangers.
For those not in the know, the reason the opened Morpher was included as an accessory is the same reason the new effect parts exist: So you can post the figures as if they're mid-morph.

They raised the shoulder level and made the deltoids bigger. The sculpt on the helmets is much cleaner and crisper.
Jason is my favorite.

I'm happy to see this is largely improved over the older releases. I'm hoping Green Ranger's easier to pick up, never saw the OG release.
Answering your question about favorite ranger excluding Tommy, I guess Zach or Jason for me. Billy's cool but he was too much of that 90s stereotypical nerd archetype, otherwise I'd choose him. Trini's good too and Kim was cute but everyone had a crush on her back then.
Long shot but Hasbro, when are we getting Bulk and Skull? I know they're comic relief but no MMPR collection's complete without them.

Probably similar reason why they don't release 'rangers' in civilian gear... because no standout memorable version/look; contrasted to their uniforms, which are more instantly recognizable.
I'd argue that civilian clothes & swappable heads could be popular for cross product line usage. Unfortunately, the overpricing of releases like the Ned/Peter Parker 2pack led to its underperformance in sales.
The shoulders and legs are different, torso looks similar but it might be a bit wider. I have both in hand rn. Overall the new ones have a bit longer limbs and are more buff.

the remastered figures will come with updated helmet sculpts for the rangers that have been re-released as the metallic rangers (so green is probably gonna have the old helmet sculpt since he doesnt have a metallic release), hasbro also announced that the green ranger wont come with his dragon shield armor and it will be included with red ranger instead 🤡 but hey at least the armor and arm bands are swappable on all of them (including the female rangers)

From MMPR it’s Jason. I loved Tommy, but like Wolverine he unfortunately pushed aside others rather than share the spotlight.
Tommy was my favorite bc of his story arc plus he's iconic to the franchise

Tommy Oliver is my favorite unmorphed cause the long hair and the moves.
This is a really great list and I actually agree with all of your picks. I probably wouldn't buy them all, like Spider Hulk and Don Fang Doom, but all great picks all the same.
On top of your list, I would add:
- Ghost Rider
- Heroic Age Thor
- Ms. Marvel
- Odin
- Heroic Age Luke Cage and Iron Fist
- Rocket Raccoon (and all of the EE 5 pack, for that matter)
I feel like Hasbro needs to redo a lot of figures from the 2008-2013 days. They focused on modern looks at those times, and they aren't great figures today.
My favorite ranger was Billy, but i think the black ranger looked the coolest.
Cool, but im waiting on the mezco 5 pack. I hope they can capture the shiny spandex look from the sentai footage.
Yeah, the range of the head/neck and butterflies are so bad. Fortunately they can be modded to be fixed to get WAY more range. But we shouldn't HAVE to dunk a figure in hot water and then take a razor or dremel to a $35 figure, or really any figure in general.
Red ranger I always enjoyed that leadership also he had to a monster by himself to save his team

I really want to get into this line but there's too much stuff I want coming out at the same time.
The only thing I hate from this figure is the drop-down legs. These things don't work and are annoying.

I’m thinking the forearm at least might be a new sculpt cuz the parts of the gloves that are on the arm are waaay thicker than the original mmpr figures. The male yellow Ranger in the two pack has the exact same problem

It would have made much more sense if they had included skin coloured morphin’ time hands. You could have put the head and hands on any plain clothes body (assuming peg compatibility) from Hasbro. What a strange choice to have gloved morphing hands.

Is it me or the hip/waist area looks so disportionate? Otherwise, not bad. I love amount of accessories, still overpriced for what it is.
To me, the power ranger line does not have ANY muscle definition or build, they look like aliens. That's why I don't collect them. Decent articulation though.
The power rangers were never muscley in the show.
The figure looks decent. Though the way the hips just out from the pelvis is weird. I've never watched Power Rangers. I do pick up the occasional figure that appeals to me.
Do they use the morpher to transform back to civilian form?
The spread of accessories looks good. Marvel Legends are generally pathetic.
They don't demorph using the morpher. They sometimes say "power down" and they return to human form. Or sometimes they demorph what seems to almost be telepathically, one moment they're morphed, then the next they're demorphed

The problem is Hasbro, they can't seem to make most joints work. They're terrible with drop down hips, ankle pivot (their ankle pivot best utilized when a figure has a boot cut too), dumbell necks, diaphragm ball joints, etc
Billy is my favorite, he fought Goldar and a bunch of putties by himself no problem.
Same molds, just their new pinless design the newer figures are using. There's no increase in quality, just an increase in price due to more accessories. There's also updated civilian heads for everyone, except Red, red WIL NOT get a civilian head.
I'm done with the lightning collection. Nobody in charge cares about this line so way should anybody else.
When I was a kid I only liked the Power Rangers for the giant robots. I hated the parts of the shows where there were people.
It's the same mold unfortunately.
