- The world can be a confusing and dangerous place, especially when there are two of you! Sonic must face the new, villainous Shadow, a hedgehog who teams up with Eggman to take over the world. Along the way, mysteries surrounding the dark hedgehog and past events pertaining to the Space Colony ARK are revealed. Sonic Adventure 2 stars Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, Shadow the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, Professor Gerald Robotnik, and Maria Robotnik. Will the world be saved or will it be conquered?
This is a project that my brother and I have collaborated on together using the PC version of the game. After I finished a game movie for the first game, people requested another one for the sequel. While we were both initially hesitant to create it since there's so many different SA2 movies on TH-cam, we eventually found enough incentive to do it after brainstorming how we can make it stand out. RFunk195 handled production and post-production in cutscenes while I handled the rest of post-production and audio balancing.
The movie uses various mods and codes that enhance, restore, and fix aspects of the original PC release. Credits to those mods will be further down in the description. Most notably, we used a mod which removes the game's subtitles and a code to disable music, allowing us to change the timing of the voice clips to fix (most of) the game's admittedly charming, but distracting dialogue interruptions and audio mixing. Additionally, most unused dialogue from the game's files has been reintroduced, and some of the game's iconic stages have been incorporated as estimated one minute long segments, sort of like a mini music video for the stages' music. When fully rendered, the video will display in 4K 60FPS. With all of these changes, we hope that our movie will be unique enough to be worthily called "The Definitive Edition".

Codes from SA2ModManager that were used: Infinite Rings P1, Infinite Lives P1, Have All Upgrades P2 (used for rival bosses except when Sonic fights Shadow because Shadow would have a glitchy version of Sonic's upgrades), Disable Music, Disable Voices (for one scene), Reduce Spin Dash Delay, Disable Omochao, All emeralds trackable in treasure hunt stages
RFunk195 also removed text_e.prs from the game directory to disable the B Button text strings during gameplay. Unfortunately, using this method didn't remove the "Saving..." text or the subtitles during Cannon's Core.

This is probably the best version on the story as a movie! So glad your fixed the audio and added a bit of the game play to fit the scenes.
I loved the escape from prison island editing, where you cut Shadow's level, Sonic's level, AND the countdown together. But so much of it was great, it genuinely felt like a real movie.
And Shadow and Rouge's conversation around 1:05 is kind of like a lover's quarrel...

This puts the beginning of the movie in a more accurate chronological order I believe. Eggman intercepts Knuckles and Rouge at the Master Emerald shrine first before he goes to his secret base. All around though this was amazingly edited, well done. Thank you for actually including some gameplay where it made sense

I like how good the audio quality is. I have Sonic Adventure 2 for the GameCube and have beaten it twice, maybe three times over the past two years since I got it for Christmas. My point is, the tv I was using didn't give me the best possible quality, but it is what it is, I guess.
Ok first of all, fantastic work! It was clever that you edited the gameplay to be in sync with the upcoming cutscene, edit the timing of the dialogues and music to make sense, to have the characters have their upgrades. You even used the unused dialogue in the game(if I'm not mistaken). Like when the cops surrounded Sonic. (When both bosses use their special attacks) Behold the fair fights they never gave us. Especially with those annoying cannon lasers.

Man, as a kid I never appreciated how hardcore Eggman can be. He's basically a mass murderer after blowing up half the moon and messing up the tide in however many places. He's also a sadist, he was more than willing to taunt Sonic while he had Amy hostage and then gave my goat time to ponder his death and laughed about it😭

I can think of a few SA2 scenes:
28:28 Rouge called for Shadow telling him she can’t find another way out because she is stuck in a locked safe. The clock was ticking and that made me feel the pressure Shadow did. Shadow snapped and decided to go after her. Thank you so much, Maria.
31:00 The rush to the rescue was giving me more of an exciting feel because of how sudden that was. When I looked closely, I happen to see somebody modded Shadow on Sonic’s Prison Island forest route after they finished fighting. Now that’s where this gets interesting.
34:04 Rouge softly snapped Shadow out of his daydream, because she wanted to thank him for saving her. Despite that, before, she held in a lot of love in herself, even though she despises what people cunningly try to do to her. But when Shadow saved her, she owed all of it to him. Surely, as much as she loves gathering jewels, Shadow having the ability to use chaos control sparked her instantly.
57:45 Knuckles did apologize to Rouge for treating her badly, but he wasn’t happy with it. Must’ve been the fact that he must’ve had terrible luck with other girls. he rolled his eyes away thinking about how that really got to him pretty good in this way.
Overall, I think I’d say this editing of Sonic Adventure 2 must be within the perfect fix. Nice work, guy!🤙

Well, sadly its not. I guess they are too scared to introduce multiple animal characters at once and have a main antagonist be executed by a firing squad🙄
I wish they would as well but some will argue and say that sonic adventure 2 is “too violent” for children and paramount doesn’t want the third film to be PG-13. If you look up sonic 3 trailer reaction videos it’s all adults so I think they should’ve done it more for their older fans and done the entire plot and storyline of adventure 2 battle

Sonic Heroes would be Amazing, even though it is the hardest one to do!
Shadow's game is a mess in terms of cutscenes and its story.
Heroes is pretty much every campaign at once and Shadow would have to have the entire story restructured. 06 though is very similar to sa1 and 2

Amazing job, my only complaint is Amy not being modded into Prison Lane, since that never sat right with me how it's Tails's level but Amy is the one to free Sonic and Tails isn't even there, but that's more a complaint with the game itself, really
and in order to actually get that level to work with non-mech characters probably needs a stage mod or something because of the doors

Bruh Ryan Drummund really got the best voice for true blue. Jason had the most weirdest and unnecessary inflections whenever he portrayed Sonic. Roger is just ok.
Roger is just awful in my opinion. I'd take Jason over Roger any day.

I always assumed that people just saw his black and red colours as a robber disguise.
