    $25 to park at some beaches here in New England. One of the things I love about Portugal also easy beach access for free and all are well cared for.

    I lived in Portugal as a kid because my parents are from there. I've been in the U.S. the majority of my life & I feel less free here. I feel like our healthcare has gone downhill. Doctors don't take me seriously. It's true if you don't have good health insurance in the U.S. it's very expensive. I miss being able to walk the streets at night & not have a care in the world. Ppl smile more & mingle more in Portugal. Tenho saudades de Portugal. I miss it and thinking of moving back!

    Health Insurance cost a is a main issue to point out... but also Auto Insurance is very very inexpensive compare to the US.

    Portuguese greetings.
    Regarding the kidney stone that your husband suffered, I advise you to start drinking Monchique water.
    From the Algarve region, Monchique Water is 100% natural, mineral, alkaline with a pH of 9.5 and natural anti-oxidant. It is the ideal water for anyone who suffers or has already suffered from this problem that took him to the hospital, with the consumption of about 2 liters of this water daily, kidney stone problems disappear and have no tendency to return.
    All the best, good health and have fun.

    Also, for some reason the icecream in Portugal tastes better than any icecream place in the U.S. The kinder choc. Eggs are larger too. 💯

    I was all month of August 2021 and travel solo, never felt unsafe. Walked alone everywhere in Lisbon,never, never felt unsafe. Travel by bus or train late and was comfortable, cascáis, Belem, Sintra,Porto, guimanarias,Peniche, Fatima, Obidio, Lagos, so many towns, LOVE IT, food, drinks, people wer super nic, clean streets,clean public bathroom, clean trains station and busses. Not only one bad thing to say. I would not miss anything about USA. I will be so happy to leave all the entitlement society in USA.

    In the US, I just spent $205 on two prescription copays. By the end of the year ... single father of two kids with Type 1 Diabetes ... I will spend over $10,000.00 in premiums, deductibles, and copays. If I had known, I would have moved thirty years ago.

    Nice interview. What are the best areas in Portugal that have expats groups?

    • @IdealHomesPortugal
      @IdealHomesPortugal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vadim - It depends, some would say Lagos whereas others may say Vilamoura. It varies but most coastal areas across the Algarve have expat groups. You can find most online groups through Facebook :)

    been lookin into Portugal or Madeira as I am used to Maui (Maui also does not have private beaches) and is hard to compete with but moved off island a while ago prices are insane but its my home and paradise to me BUT life is short fun to live abroad and did live in caribbean and loved it so many expat shows folks I see as in local portugese seem to be like island folks willing to know and help neighbors which I feel is less and less on mainland USA these days :)
