@lesblatnyak5947 made this request!! Thx so much🙏🏾🙏🏾
God bless you son. Belly rubs for GG
That drumming by Phil Collins is so complex accompanying Tony Banks on the Keyboards.
Genesis the greatest theatrical prog band. Cinema Show released 1973 on the brilliant album Selling England By The Pound. Which should be heard in its entirety. Beautiful way to start a Sunday. 🙏🍁
Thx for the recommendation great song!!🙏🏾
@@200_acres Gentle Giant or GG song called On Reflection. They are avant-garde prog, brilliant musicians, saw them 4 times. 🙏🍁
COOL! Generally considered in the top 3-5 of the greatest Progbands ever and this album often rated their best. Known for their often mythical storytelling they married electric, syths, acoustic & pastoral passages to create a tapestry of light and shade that drew inspiration from classical and British folk music as much as rock and blues. Peter Gabriel, the original lead vocalist began dressing in costumes & makeup that reflected the song's themes Live which helped them stand out & caught the attention of fans and press.
The song was awesome!
Great synopsis!
Personally after listening to prog music since early seventies, this is the best album of them all by any prog band including Pink Floyd, IMHO (and I love Echoes...)
Technical brilliance
Suppers Ready!
You cut it short my friend! Cinema show is a whimsical tale but for something with more 'body' listen to 'Firth of Fifth' from the same album. IMO their best!
Très grand disque de Genesis magnifique ❤❤❤❤❤
Masterpiece
To really have a sense of completion, you have to continue listening through the Aisley of Plenty.
The song is inspired by a poem called The Waste Land by TS Eliot written in the 1920s. (It's not really about cinema; they still had silent movies when the poem was written.) They probably studied it at school and thought the mythical story would make a great song. This is from one of the all time great albums but you need to check out A Trick of the Tail.
My fave on keyboards, Tony Banks!!
Got your 'chocolate surprise'.....how can you fail? Sweet.
Please more Genesis
Recommend some songs!!
@@200_acres firth of fifth 👌
The Knife, In the Cage, Abacab,Home by the Sea/Second Home by the Sea, Carpet Crawlers
The uneven timing at the beginning was an attempt to emulate an old mechanical musical box that was popular in the first half of the last century.
smoothest 7/8 groove in history. and yeah, you should really follow it up with the next track that ends the album. and it'll mean more if you've listened to the whole album as it reprises the beginning. but... you used ChatGPT to write your description, right?
Weird to have this cut off without its companion piece, Aisle Of Plenty, but it's still a wonderful listen.
Yes, agree. Aisle of Plenty is part of this song, sounds much better!!!
"chocolate surprise" Love it.
You may listen to "Aisle of plenty" after "The Cinema show"...
Genesis - Can-Utility and its Consumers (1972) next
and the Coastliners.
Love it. A little history and mocking the last Viking king of England with great music.
My Brother
