Fun fact: Closer was actually written as an American gospel song until Oh My Girl and their label heard the demo and got the rights to make it their own! Lyrically it isn't religious anymore, but the vibe is still there-again, such a unique vibe for a K-pop song, and a pretty ballsy move to release what's essentially a hymn as a title track!
I really enjoy Mimi's raps, they don't feel like a more typical "here's your short rap verse right after the first chorus because that's just supposed to be how Kpop songs go" rap. They feel less forced and more thought out in how they should fit the vibe of the song, typically placed in less traditional parts of a song (I absolutely adore rap bridges and rap outros in Kpop songs), and she frequently does more than just one bar which is appreciated.
this is the first time that ohmygirl considered the "Fairy of KPOP"
Oooh that's a cute nickname, it suits them
I love this song
This is one of my favorite OMG songs ❤
