I needed a refresher on this ruler after about a year away from it. I watched a different tutorial and was more confused after watching! Thankfully I remembered your tutorial and, after watching, I have completed 27 practically perfect blocks. Thanks!

I have the Classic Curve Ruler. Are you saying there is another one, CCR plus?

Great info ( the "ok" at the end of most sentence is distracting ...)

Can this ruler cut out matching orange peels? 🤔

I've been searching for a tutorial to show how to create the curved pattern pieces with the proper seam allowance. Excellent video. Thank you!

i have other drunkard rulers but this one looks handy especially when you can make 4" to 8.5" sized squared blocks with one ruler . (enjoyed the tutorial).

Thank you for the tutorial. From it I have ordered the template (uk). Using the template can you make the background larger and the quarter circle smaller? I see you mentioned for the 6 1/2” block the background could be squared off smaller. Would I need to use a different cutting size for the concave curve?

Hi, Jo, You can cut the background (concave piece) as large as you want. The way I show it is the minimum, but if you want more of it to show outside the edges of the curve, you would cut it larger and still cut the convex shape the same. Does that make sense? if you have more questions or specifics, please email me through colorgirlquilts.com (-:

is there a way to basically take 4 squares of fabric and cut the curve and then switch them up and sew them back together, if that makes sense? kind of like the stack and slash technique? just seems like it would be quicker and make less scraps, but I assume would make them not match up on the edges the same and then you'd have to trim more off there....
sorry if this doesnt make sense from a beginner 🙂

Love your tutorials...just bought the eclipse pattern which comes with template shapes. This pattern did not refer to the ruler. Now that I know there is one available, think it will be easier than making my own templates. Question, for cutting instructions it would be good to have the grain reference as well as orientation of the fabric. I love your patterns and plan to finish my test block and the on to wall hanging.

Thanks, Joann! I have the Eclipse pattern now available with instructions for using the Ruler rather than the templates. If you have. a CCRuler and would like the new version of the pattern, I will email it to you. Send me a message at colorgirlquilts (at) gmail.

That is cute. Have you tried the curves presser foot? No pins! Takes about 5 clamshells until the curves become a snap. Give it a try. Really fast.😉

Loved your demonstration... I hadn't considered marking the curves as you showed. Looks so easy! I do have your ruler, but haven't used it yet. Time to get busy!
