Shabby Fabrics I didn’t think it was too bad. I drew a light sewing line to follow and I pinned (I’m a pinned!). I started by pinning in center than then pinned on the ends. Then I could ease the material between.
I wasn’t sure about starting on the end, no pins, but it worked, connecting the slits and sewing to each. So, it’s a yay, would definitely buy this template. Thanks Jen.
Aren't they great?! A Stiletto would be extremely helpful to hold the material in place, that's a great tip! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! We appreciate you! - Morgan
Thank you! So glad you like it! The template sets are so affordable! The 8" set is less than $20 and the 4" set is less than $10!! Let us know if you make something with either one, we'd love to hear how it goes. - Morgan
Hi Christine! This is the Drunkard's Path Block made with the Slit 'N Sew Template. Unfortunately we no longer carry this template, however we still have many great kits on our site: www.shabbyfabrics.com/SHOW-ALL-C1447.aspx Thank you for watching! - Sophie
Seems like an awesome method. My only concern is my rotary blade hitting into the ruler with the potential for a nick in the blade. Hmmm. Will give this more thought.
That's why we used the 28mm rotary cutter, to help avoid nicking the blade, and we just cut slowly and carefully. Let us know if you do decide to give it a try. :) - Morgan
Great tutorial. Thank you for sharing the template info and showing the detail of sewing the blocking! Do you you recommend squaring up each block after ironing?
Great question! You wouldn't be able to cut 2 shapes out of one Charm Square (like we did with our 10 inch squares here) but you could definitely get 1 cut from the Charm Square. - Morgan
That is so slow. I think I'm going to applique that piece onto a white fabric square. After 25 yrs of quilting I need to do faster quilting while I still can quilt. Thanks for the video.
Hi Tiffanie! You can purchase the template set featured in the video here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/cutrite-slit-n-sew-drunkards-path-8-finished-template-P71216.aspx Thank you for watching! - Sophie
The GRIPPY tape that they gave you can be bought in a roll here. 15.00 for 1 inch Clear 60 feet, 2" by 60' is 27.00 or 4"x60" is 39.00. It looks to me like they gave you a piece from a 4 inch roll, to cut into the size pieces that you want. I have a roll of 1 inch, have it on all my rulers, it's FABULOUS! www.slipdoctors.com/images/SlipDoctors_Brochure-9013-Edit.jpg It's clear, so you can see through it, it absolutely stops the ruler from slipping, it is way cheaper than gripper dots and you can cut it and put it where you want it.
Drunkard Path blocks are so fun to make and so easy! I made a border for my quilt out of these blocks. Beautiful!
That would be such a pretty border! That sounds beautiful! - Morgan
Awesome . Thank You.
Thank you for watching! - Sophie
I've made a drunkards path and I love the pattern. I did mine by hand.
They are so much fun to make! You did yours by hand?! That's amazing. Did you have a pretty easy time of it or was it complicated? - Morgan

That sounds like a good method. I'm a pinner too! I need the pins! haha. These quilts are so pretty. - Morgan
I bought a curve master foot, no cuts or notches, sews it beautifully!
That is a great idea! Thank you for sharing your tips with us! : ) -Kyla

Thank you for getting back to me-I was more interested in the pattern for this quilt. Do you offer the pattern?
Hi Christine, unfortunealy we don't offer this pattern. Thank you for watching! - Sophie
Love this quilt! I see the kits are sold out. What is the name of pattern & is it available for purchase? Thank you for the great tutorial!

I believe the directions show cutting out from the template so,hitting the template wouldn't be an issue.
Wonder how it would look to cut both shapes out of each layer cake giving the reverse image and playing with the placement for a fun result.
That would probably be really cute! Let us know if you give that a try. - Morgan
Shabby Fabrics will do
Great tutorial. Thank you for sharing the template info and showing the detail of sewing the blocking! Do you you recommend squaring up each block after ironing?
Thank you for watching! Yes, if you need to square up your blocks, that would be the best time. Let us know how your project goes. - Morgan
Não entendo seu idioma...más acho os seus trabalhos lindos.
Nós apreciamos sua atenção!
Does the smaller set (1/4 moon) template work on a charm square?
Great question! You wouldn't be able to cut 2 shapes out of one Charm Square (like we did with our 10 inch squares here) but you could definitely get 1 cut from the Charm Square. - Morgan
Shabby Fabrics I went ahead and ordered both template sets and will give it a go! Thanks for the reply.
Thanks so much for your order! Definitely give it a go and let us know how it works for you! We love to see pictures, too! - Morgan

Appliqué would work well for this project! That's a great idea. :) Let us know how it goes. - Morgan
I would like to get one of the template sets, where can I get one like what you have?
Hi Tiffanie! You can purchase the template set featured in the video here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/cutrite-slit-n-sew-drunkards-path-8-finished-template-P71216.aspx

They are commonly called pie and crust
That's so fun! Thanks for sharing that with us. - Morgan
Eleanor Burns would probably use her stiletto! Instead of her fingers😬
Using a Stiletto is a great idea! - Morgan

We'll have to buy lots of that tape! It's the best! :) Thank you for sharing. - Morgan
