A Shomolu boy myself...remembers 'peeping' to watch her at Tower Inn back in the 80s.....i think she married from my village..Ijebu Imodi, i can clearly hear the ijebu accent in her voice too
This is awesome and wonderful interview. Mama Lady Balogun really loves her mother too much. More so, she has a very good voice and also talented. O Jo ogbo yin a di ale ni oruko Jesu, Amin. Agbaletu and his crew, well done
THANK YOU SIR FOR THIS WONDERFUL TALENT YOU DISCOVERED. I AM A LOVER OF JUJU MUSIC BUT AM HEARING HER VOICE AND GUITAR FOR THE FIRST TIME. I ONLY KNEW MUMMY JUJU. THE LATE DECENCY OLADUNNI OF BLESSED MEMORY. THIS IS EXCELLENT. MANY THANKS AND GOD BLESS.
Decency death was so painful we lived that term in thesame neighborhood there house was at alade street shomolu very close to the market while we lives at abiodun street.........
this was when nigeria was nigeria. opportunities existing then were uncomparable. that informed the chance women had to rob shoulder with men, and flourishing then was fantastic
Another interesting interview. Surprisingly, I've never heard of Lady Balogun as a Juju artiste until this interview. I do of course know of Queen Oladunni Decency in the 70s. It is strange that not a single of Lady Balogun's musical works is available here on TH-cam. It is also strange that she asked for assistance to purchase a vehicle to carry her band; given that she claims to still be musically active and getting shows. One would have thought that she would have used this opportunity to promote her band and seek for more musical engagement and bookings rather than expecting fans to just give her a vehicle, financial handouts or record release when she can self-promote or go directly to record labels.
This lady is too simple for the type of job she is doing. Even her old record can still bring her money if put on internet. Advise her to release her old compositions.
But why? African people always have problems telling their. Especially women.. Dele. Gbogbo interview yi o really make sense. Inkan toba bi wọn kọ. Ni wọn dahun.... "

Princess Balogun can't be less than 66 years old.
You are very right
Lady Balogun should be over 60.
I knew her singing when i was young.
She is approximately 70 years. Decency would be 75 years if alive now, and I guess Balogun was about 5 years younger in primary school.
Decency death was so painful we lived that term in thesame neighborhood there house was at alade street shomolu very close to the market while we lives at abiodun street.........
Lady Balogun is a popular juju musician after Decency.
The school was founded by a Sierra Leonean immigrant who lived in Lagos.
this was when nigeria was nigeria. opportunities existing then were uncomparable. that informed the chance women had to rob shoulder with men, and flourishing then was fantastic
