The continuity hiccups can definitely be frustrating. ESPECIALLY the Agent Orange stuff in the backup. But overall I liked this issue a lot, though I admit I didn't make the connection you did of Hal immediately taking his "way out" of the Carol situation the minute he got his "wings" back. "Oh I'm not forced into this situation anymore? Cool, she can have her autonomy now." is definitely a wild change in perspective. But hey, they don't call him Parallax for nothing.
I feel like his decision to leave is similar to when he ran out of town after he found out that she got engaged & the difference between why he ran away then and why he didn’t now is simply because he was broke this time and was forced to live in his brother’s trailer so now that he got the ring he just left the planet as a whole
dan!! love your halcarol thoughts. excited for you to get to the later issues where their relationship gets even messier if you can believe it. #freecarol
If green lantern ever gets a show again I hope it's episodic but not in the way every ep would be something different with new characters but more like adventure time where there's some serialization: so that we can have ep with any character like a pink lantern ep with Carol
I hate the human centric storylines, i don't know why. I just find it annoying when human beings are bestest at everything in a universe filled with billions of various forms of life. I also hate it when those other alien species are written to be exactly like us and yet someone we are still the special ones. Edit : Damn not even a good bye to the woman...wow
I went back and read the first six issues is this. It's weird. I will continue to say Green Lantern is my favorite DC hero, but I freaking despise Hal. This issue is the prime example. Parallax aside, this is Hal's personality. He's selfish and constantly forgets about the people he loves and leads.
I honestly thought that Adams was going to use Hal's love of space adventures as an avoidance for dealing with emotional or traumatic issues in his life, which is where I thought the stuff with him seeing Kilowog was going and his chasing of Carol, that to me would highlight why Hal seems to run away from responsibilities and a home because he has a lot to answer for in terms of holding himself accountable for not being present in the lives of those he cares about, but the like the Carol and Hal relationship rekindling this just makes Hal a unlikable character. I had high hopes for the run and I will read it, but I tend to find it frustrating in the cosmic side of comics where character growth, development are superceded by grand cosmic plots. You can do small cosmic stories that tackle aspects of a character and I feel like Adams tries to do that and then 180s it out of the way for the sake of the plot.
I love this run, but the central orange battery error is odd. Sam Humphries wrote the backup, not Jeremy Adams (who loves the continuity and would probably not make that mistake) so I'm guessing Humphries didn't realize the error, and editorial didn't catch it, which they should have.
At this point, the Green Central Battery of Oa gives Xavier's Mansion a run for its money in terms of constant destruction
Skipping over Jessica’s time as a Yellow Lantern is one of the biggest wasted opportunities in GL history.

Would be neat to get flashback stories of sinestro corps jessica, potential yet to be fully tapped. Hope you're having a good day
Great review man

I can only imagine. Hal and Carol's relationship might be a bigger train wreck than the one that gave Alan Scott his powers.

I want GLTAS to come back.
This is the first issue i really enjoyed in this run. It finally started looking like things are moving.

That's why I like Thanagarians.

As The Grand Priest of The Temple of the Algorithm, I bless this video with a comment.

You are always here almost but you lapse a lot too. Not good for a priest in preaching the ways of the algorithm
