- The LARQ pitcher was a successful Kickstarter and made many promises and requires no kitchen renovation/modification or complicated installations. Did it live up to the hype? Did I get rid of my Brita?
UPDATE Jan 2023:
My wand isn't working well lately. It's been turning on auto wand and staying on for like hours. It happens once in a while but enough to drain the battery. Reached out to LARQ, normally they would just issue a replacement but in my situation they had previously refunded me due to some complaints off the Kickstarter. They don't sell the UV-C wand alone yet, but hopefully soon.

I've been using LARQ pitcher for about a month now with the included "elite" filter and now the water tastes much better! I had a difficulty drinking the tap water on my new apartment and now that's all in the past thanks to LARQ. I know this sounds like an advertisement but this pitcher did what I was looking for so I have to give kudos for that. So anyone struggling to drink tap water like I did, try this.
Thanks for sharing! My tap water tastes pretty good but now that I use the larq so often cuz it's so easy to fill up and keep it full (fast flow) and and has the uv light, I can't drink my tap water

Totally worth it. Bought one for the parents. Dad stopped going to Starbucks for morning coffee and Mom says her coffee tastes very smooth.

When you fill the Greek with water, the blue light will not flash until you press it. It will flash for about ten seconds and then go off. Filtration will continue without the light flashing.

The Waterdrop filter filters 200 gallons of water. So...there's that : )
hopefully LARQ will improve their filters, I'd love a filter that lasts that long! Though the Waterdrop doesn't have the UVC wand, that alone has been a game changer, though I really need the filters to last longer and have less plastic for the LARQ to be an overall game changer

Is the pitcher made out of glass or plastic? Talking about the clear part
plastic, BPA free and all from memory and made to not seep out the UV-C rays
Can you tell a difference on your coffee? Are you using it in your espresso machine? Buildup in your kettle or boiler?
I mention in the video I don’t use it due to them not necessarily advertising it to soften water softening abilities

I’ve had this filter for a few months. The water absolutely tastes refreshing and I’ve switched from Brita to it. One question: When charging, is some light supposed to turn on? Recently I tried to charge it before the battery runs out, but no light comes on and I can’t tell if it’s charging or my charger is bad.
Does this remove fluoride?
it removes all the items I mentioned in the video

Are you concerned that the glass is transparent and constant exposure to the UV radiation form the bottom of the filter can cause skin cancer?
I asked if the rays would be cause issues with the plastic and they said no so I'm going to take their word for it
How many glasses of water until it goes empty?
calculate the capacity of the jug with the amount of water you consume per glass and there's your answer :)
Does the Larq just fit into the side of your fridge? It looks huge?
It wouldn't, my fridge is small anyway. It is quite large but I got used to it and like how it's often filled cuz it takes 2 reservoir top fills to fill the entire container and it filters fast

I thought this was about a filter not about the state of the earth 😤
Why can't it be both? Especially when the origins of the filter was rooted in that fact. To deny the state of the Earth is ridiculous at the point that we're at. Plastic waste, garbage, we can't bury our heads in the sand. It's a reality. Microplastics are INSIDE of us. We should consume smartly. And good product design should factor the entire life cycle of the product.
The overwhelming majority of microplastics we consume are not coming from our tap water
