Very helpful thanks. I've found some of the TH-cam videos on Mixing Station confusing because they assume too much prior knowledge or because they are not focused on one thing at a time - this was concise and clear and easy to follow.

Very thorough and clear. I already have layouts saved but this was a good refresher as I have gotten stale.

One clarification on the grid: Objects will always snap to the currently selected grid when they are being moved or sized. Already-placed elements will not move automatically just because the grid was changed. This allows different elements to be sized and placed according to different grids.

Does anyone know if you can customize the meter bridge object to include mix busses and mains. I'm trying to set up a layout to give me a comprehensive display of levels and dynamics across the board on a dedicated monitor. The standard meter bridge object doesn't include the busses and main displays. Is there a way to modify the standard objects?

your question can't be answered because the possibilities are different on each mixer-type. what are you using?

Fantastic Video. Thank you so much.
    Problems Saving My Custom Layouts!!
I have watched so many videos, read different forums etc, and I STILL CAN'T SEEM TO SAVE MY CUSTOM LAYOUT IN "MIXING STATION PRO". (ANDROID PHONE)
I have saved according to all instructions, including this video, and still no success. When I disconnect, and reconnect, it's not saved.
    MY PROCEDURE:
Settings // Layouts // Folder(Top right) // (+) icon // "Save Settings" window opens. I name the Layout, then click, "OK". DONE.
What I've just saved, shows up in the "App Settings Save/Load" window.
But when I "disconnect and reconnect", it's not there? When I go to the, "App Settings Save/Load" page again, and "Load" what I've just saved, it's never saved.
I've tried so many times. What am I doing wrong? Can someone please help me. I have been trying for the last 3-4wks!! Almost ready to throw in the towel with this app. Please help.
    Thank you in advance.
    Lance.

      Try following:
      Open wheel - layouts
Find the row with your main layout and hit Edit
In the layout editor hit the wheel and set ‚overwrite mixer layout‘ as behaviour
Hit apply and close the editor
The layout is now your default layout and you can backup this through wheel - folder

Hi Otto, thank you for your tutorial. I'm a little bit confused with saving....at 22'17"" (Layout Settings) you saved the Layout you just created,, setting this layout "Override.." to be showned when you open MS right? Why, at 30'04" you went in another place to save the settings? What is the difference between? Thank you

    • @ottobaer
      @ottobaer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The setting "Override Mixer" does set the layout as default layout so it opens at startup
Mixing Station does not allow to share/load a layout. this is done with complete setups. A setup includes your layouts, layers and midi-config. You can save different setups in Wheel - Folder. Setups can be shared and loaded to/from the community or local files.

@@lancekiwi-fulltimemusician3721 there is a setting ‚auto save‘ in app setup. Make sure, this is active then you don‘t have to worry about saving layers, layouts and midi. Just make sure to exit the app through 3dots-disconnect

To restore your snaphot go to wheel - folder and hit load on your snapshot. Your current settings will be overwritten

    Hello Otto Baer,
Tnx a million for your detailed tutorial! I walked thru - second by second - and learned a lot and was able to sertup Inear-Monitor-Layouts for me and my band.
One question is left: I added "XLIVE"-control-buttons such as "REC" "STOP" and so on. Those buttons work but: is it possible to add some "Button-Feedback"? This means e.g.: recording is stopped, the button appears dark red - recording is running: the button appears in bright red. Is that possible?
Tnx for your answer and again your good tutorial!

If your mixer has a music player included (like the m32) then you can control the player.
You can not play music from your pc/tablet/phone because mixing station does not pass any audio

Hi. Thanks for such a well explained set up. I’m using an iPad to run the mix. When you were setting up the first short cut you got to a menu that had 3 choices on the left side. You chose “scene”. My iPad program didn’t have that choice so I’m not certain where to go from there or how to set up future shortcuts. Any advice? Thanks.

    • @ottobaer

Show - Scene - Current is how you can add the current Scene to a layout. On a different mixer this might be called different...just try everything out and get familiar with actions and what they do

      @ottobaer  ปีที่แล้ว

@@jaydiel2011 this is not an question about mixing station.
Actually it‘s not possible to send the main mix to an bus. The xr18 does not support that.
What you can do is somthing like a copy of the main mix for your monitor. You can do this as post fader mix, so your monitor mix will follow all the changes you do on the main mix.
See my video on how to change the tap point from channels to busses on how to do that.
After you set the tap point to postfader on your channels, send them with 0db to the bus. Don‘t forget to send the fx returns as well
