I'm almost 61,and watching this brings back such memories, of my age of 12/13, and my departed parents laughing away when this was on. This man was a comedy genius.
You would wait all week for these shows, and not stop laughing from beginning to end. Remember the roller skates episode, doing all his own stunts,a classic!
Sad thing was, many years later when Michael Crawford was working in Theater for Phantom of The Opera, some member of staff that I knew, said that he was a right little shit to his staff. Hard to believe but there you go. Maybe he didn’t like the blue M and Ms
I thought I recognised him! He's perhaps better known as playing Dr. Watson to Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes in the Granada ITV adaptations from the late 80s/early 90s.
I remember, almost screaming Beaty Just leave him, please Beatty; please , please! Good old Humour, and he was such a genius! You can almost hear me scream Leave him Beatty all the way from New Zealand! Its is so good to be bale to have a trip down memory lane; I remember watching this with my Grandfather and Parents; thank you so much!
...I wonder who put them there... No, I don't vote since ages...you see, I couldn't bring myself to queuing at the poll boot, knowing that there were Franks Spencer in the queue hiring other F Spencer for the Parliament...only a blind boss won't see what the employees are up to //-))
One of the funniest of all "Some mothers" episodes. Dear old Frank certainly knew how to make us all laugh, as well as drive people up the wall, as poor Mr Lawrence found out!😄
Ditches? It forgot how to be funny. And Britain's been overrun by right wing thugs who were never funny then or now, unless we're talking about their intellects.
@@ColtraneTaylor What exactly is right wing? Never saw anything attack the industry but a few groups that felt they needed to do something to get notice in life. Interesting subject.
Edward Hardwicke was best known for playing one of two incarnation of Doctor Watson, alongside Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes, I didn't know how good a comical actor he was.
+Marc Veldman Yeh it's absolutely side splitting. .and you know what, nobody in the world could have played that character as brilliantly as Michael Crawford. just the funny looks he gives and is posture, pure genius.
+Marc Veldman we'll never see grates like this again. or things like black adder or the new statesman with rick mayall. .the comedians today don't make me laugh at all. I don't find them funny at all!
Yep and my hubby's one of them. He has Aspergers ...brain damage via vaccines, he can't read people, and he takes things they say literally. His antics are hilarious, you just wouldn't believe the things he does, I didn't at first, but now I know he doesn't do them on purpose. He was warned not to go off with anyone outside the hotel he stayed in, in Gambia, then once outside, a man asked him if he wanted to see around the place, and he thought that would be nice, an hour later he was in the middle of nowhere and the man said he had to leave, so my hubby asked him how to get back and he summoned a car, he said was a taxi, and my hubby had to pay a fortune to this """taxi guy""""" to get back!!!!!
Funny how the man how sat on his arse blaming vaccines never met Hans Asperger. It was Lorna Wing and Judith Gould went to see if the narrow diagnostic criteria represented the population. It didn’t. Lorna Wing and her husband translated Aspergers paper in to English. All whilst Rimland sat on his arse blaming vaccines.
It’s 2023, and I’m still laughing at an absolute comic genius!
Very talented guy. He was also the phantom in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA musical on Broadway. Really nice singer.
I'm almost 61,and watching this brings back such memories, of my age of 12/13, and my departed parents laughing away when this was on. This man was a comedy genius.
I own all the episodes on DVD. I also have the 3 Christmas specials and the 2016 one they released. You can find that on You tube as welll

Me & my late mate Mick loved this program. RIP mick .
I love this show....I saw a interview with Michael and Michele and it was Michael who chose Michele to play Betty
My hat goes off to Mr Spencer.. the funniest man EVER! Oh the good old days eh...
quite a contrast for Michelle dotrice between this and soon the darkness.. and hammer movies , loved her 😊🤗
I saw this man in person in the play Barnum at the London Palladium ages ago.
His talent is unbelievable.
Condor man as well......
He was his own stunt man !
Seen all his shows, and still keep laughing at them this was a wonderful show what a talent he is....
Hello beautiful how're you doing you look so beautiful on your profile

Oh Frank! after all these years, I dunno whether to laugh or cry...maybe a bit of both.
A true classic . He was a Legend
Better than comedy today it still makes me laugh after all these years 🤣

I maybe 20, but I love this show 😂😂
😍😍😍
That's good to hear . I grew up in the 70's ,80's watching it while in elementary/primary school. Frank Spencer is my comedy mentor.
Maybe 20? But you're not sure? 🤣🤣
This is good
LoL. Don't touch it Betty; all the Spencer's are well built, apart from myself, I've got the lean & hungry look.😅🤣
How can u not like Frank Spencer, good on u Michael Crawford
Fantastic memories from my childhood...still funny today in 2022
Classic - true comic professional - timing, acting, script - perfect
Bored flipping through video now writing this with a big grin on my face. Frank and Betty and poor fellow dealing with them classic.
This genius actor then went on to star in so many plays in London, and his singing voice is great.
How they didn't laugh during that is unbelievably. So funny
I thought there were moments where the interviewer seemed to hold back some laughter. He did an excellent job.
Makes every day brighter.
Edward Hardwicke - very good comic acting here, and passable Ozzie accent from an Englishman in an English production
I thought I recognised him! He's perhaps better known as playing Dr. Watson to Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes in the Granada ITV adaptations from the late 80s/early 90s.
the belly moving laughs you get from watching this character is something else. Great classic comedy, miss it!!

Trivia: Edward Hardwicke who played the emigration officer also played Mr Hooper the job advisor in The Employment Exchange episode.
He also played Dr. Watson in the best Sherlock Holmes series every, with Jeremy Brett. Him and David Burke. That is another spectacular series.
Must have changed jobs after his encounter with Frank Spencer!
