Absolutely I am going to give them credit not only did they help me but they are my homies. Also I did mention having to take it to the dealer. Most would never admit that but that is real life.
Hoping this helps someone. I had the power steering light come on under light acceleration from a stop then it would go off once fully accelerating. This was accompanied with the power steering going in and out. Come to find out after checking the fuses that the battery in my car was 4 years old so I thought I’d check that out. Battery was dead and that was the problem. It was load shedding the electric power steering due to battery being dead. Replaced the battery and it’s been good since.
Watching from France..I had the same problem with my Honda jazz and I replaced the E P S module as you..All is ok now..Very good explanation your video Sir . Thanks

I'll be the first to say, I don't know if I'd have tackled that one. Having that insurance was a good idea. What probably would have made me do it was the dealership repair price and the lack of availability for the part.

@dagame4035 I purchased it on eBay used, same make and model it stated programmed on the description. It was not new, but it has worked perfectly since.
@@edtheoldtechguy I’ve ordered one for my 2017 Honda accord same make and model but I see a lot of forums saying it has to be programmed but do you think I can replace it and if it works I can just get it flashed
I will tell you my experience, purchased used module on ebay, most likely from a junk yard and no reprogramming was necessary. I made sure that the description included my make and model. It has been running fine ever since.
Wait, I am at 5 minutes in and have a question.. You said the fuses "look perfectly fine". What will I see if the fuse is NOT perfectly fine? Thanks for your informative video!
@danielpion9344 The fuse will be blown and will be open or have a break that can be seen in the inspection window or test open with continuity test. Depending on the fuse blown, it could mean the electric motor for the power steering assist is over drawing power as the motor begins to die or a full broken shorted wire will cause fuse to blow. These wires could be broken due to squirrel or rat chews, too. A shorted wire to the module or badly seated cable into the module could blow fuses. If you find blown fuse, you begin checking continuity and connections without the battery in series. Testing the different circuits of the power steering assist. You verify up to the motor. Then test the motor.
If I recall correctly, the 2008 Honda CRV uses hydraulic power steering. The 1st thing to check is your reservoir to ensure the proper amount of fluid is there, next look at the fluid smell it, it should look like a light red wine, if it's dark or brown it needs changing. Now check the power steering belt it should not be cracked or look old. If so, replace it. Also, look for leaks. Do your best to figure if the noises are coming from power steering pump, rack, and pinion, or suspension. Statements of steering being hard and noises concern me and would require a rack and pinion inspection. With the car off and sitting for a few hours, fill in the reservoir to the cold fluid line. Get a cardboard box and place it under the car with a few bricks so it won't move. Turn the car on for 5 minutes or so, then turn off and leave it for a few hours or better overnight. Check to see if any power steering fluid leaked. Hard to steer and noise complaints can also come from suspension problems or hubs grinding.
Obviously this is not advice, as I am not there to inspect the car myself. This is what I would do in that situation to start trying to narrow any issues. My channel and everyone involved are not liable for any issues that arise from speculating on what could be your issues here.
It can be a bad battery. This is why it's good to get the right diagnosis. If your battery is more than 3 years old, you could change it to see the results. Many don't know that failing batteries place a strain on your electrical system and cause the electronics to go out sooner. I know some mechanics by me that replace the battery every 2 years, even if it's good. It's a bit overprotective, but I see their logic.
Muy buen video bien explicado, buen trabajo no entiendo porque cobran tanto en el concesionario lo voy a tener en cuenta por si me falla mi crv ,gracias por la información bendiciones 🫡🫡🫡
Used cars always need some repairs, especially with 156k miles. You should diagnose and repair the reason for the light. Your steering auto assist or power steering is electric and could stop working while you are driving, which could be potentially dangerous. Please have a pro diagnose the reason for the light if you are not able too.
@jeromemauricio82 Hard to say depends on area, condition, model, i.e. exl and what the repair would exactly be. That $8000 could be on the low end for the basic model in very good condition purchased at dealer but I don't think a dealer can sell it with that issue. Purchased privately with that problem seems like a fair price. Again I don't have all the info this is just a guess.
God bless you and the Japanese wisdom. If it was a Ford you'd need to replace the entire steering rack because the module is built in it, as the electric motor.
Thanks. My mechanic doesn't like to do a diagnosis if you don't let him do the job. He will take your money for a diagnosis and tells you it could be a bunch of stuff; no clear answer.
That sucks! Find a better mechanic that will do it. Mechanics around me love to only do the diagnostics. They can do like 20 cars in one day, and make more than in one repair. There are obvious jobs the client can do themselves and there are bigger jobs the mechanic needs to do. Tell him to stop being greedy and to work with you. If not find someone else. The dealerships usually have no issue doing just a diagnostic.

Does the EPS module need to be reprogrammed for the new/different car? How does that work?

Does that module need to be reprogrammed after the installation
The one I purchased came from a junk yard and was from the same make and model it needed no programming. It has performed perfectly for some time now.
Where were you able to order the EPS module at I cannot find one
I ordered the module on eBay, and it was already programmed super easy
