New God: Shiva, the Destroyer, kicks off SMITE Season 9 by uniting all the pantheons of the Battleground. Shiva will join SMITE in February 2022.

As a Hindu I really appreciate the design and his behavior, cause he is very calm until and unless things go really bad.... and with just of a blink he can literally end multiverse.
This design was created by an Indian so it's very accurate.
You might wanna say "universe". There's no mention of Lord Shiva Destroying multiverse in Hindu mythology.
Also if he destroys some other universe of some other Shiva, wouldn't it lead to conflict with Shiva of that Universe ? LOL.

Man I wish for more of such amazing portrayals of Indian mythology. Hope my own countrymen would take efforts to make such detailed representations suitable for younger and more modern audiences. There’s nothing right now that attracts the youth let alone international audiences. There’s so many stories we can tell I don’t think any mythology could even come close.
Also, loved the fact that all the heroes and gods just instantly stopped and recognised his divinity. It’s similar to our own myth where the other supreme gods (Vishnu and Brahma) just stop and realise how powerful he is.

I agree with you on many points such as imagination and that myths and religion are not supposed to be the same thing however many religions are based upon them most of asian religions and culture are full of mythical animals and multiple types of gods and Europe too the ancient Romans, Greeks and even the Egyptians in the Africa had a rich culture and religion that coincided with their mythology.
All I mean to say is that he is free to believe in whatever he wishes for. We have no right to tell him if the gods from his religion are real or not. They are probably a grown adult so let's let them decide on their take on religion. 😉

I am a Hindu and I m really impressed. The design of both Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesh is accurately done without white-washing or changing anything to suit a global audience. And I am amazed how they even made the Mudras properly too. The animators didn't hold back. When Indians are more focused on western culture, it makes me happy that others are appreciating and representing our culture.
Small thing to add: An Indian made the game design for Shiva and Ganesha.

(Here emptiness means, things which we cant perceive through our five senses).
