as a Hindu, one thing I'm happy that my religion taught me was to believe in being open minded and believing in the endless possibilities of the universe. No one religion made the world or created life, it is a multitude of reasons we can assume and ask upon and hence why being open minded respecting science and all other beliefs became important. Im proud for it to have taught me the art of acceptance and respect for all beings regardless of backgrounds and what we are.

The Hindu metrics of time (Kaala Vyavahara) can be summarized as below:
    • a Lipta (लिप्ता) is approximately 0.4 seconds
    • a Vighati (विघटि) is 60 Liptas, or approximately 24 seconds
    • a Ghadika (घटि) is 60 Vighatis, or approximately 24 minutes
    • a Muhurta is equal to 2 Ghadikas, or approximately 48 minutes
    • a Nakshatra ahoratram (नक्षत्र अहोरत्रम्) or sidereal day is exactly equal to 30 Muhurtas (Note: A day is considered to begin and end at sunrise, not midnight.)
An alternate system described in the Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III is as follows:
    100 Truti = 1 Tatpara
    30 Tatpara = 1 Nimesha
    15 Nimeshas = 1 Kásht́há
    30 Kásht́hás = 1 Kalá
    30 Kalás = 1 Kṣaṇa
    12 Kṣaṇa = 1 Muhúrtta
    30 Muhúrttas = 1 day (24 hours)
    30 days = 1 month
    6 months = 1 Ayana
2 Ayanas = 1 year or one day (day + night) of the gods
Small units of time used in the Vedas
    • a Trasarenu is the combination of 6 celestial atoms.
    • a Truti is the time needed to integrate 3 Trasarenus, or 1/1687.5th of a second.
    • a Vedha is 100 Trutis.
    • a Lava is 3 Vedhas.
    • a Nimesha is 3 Lavas, or a blink.
    • a Kshanas is 3 Nimeshas.
    • a Kashthas is 5 Kshanas, or about 8 seconds.
    • a Laghu is 15 Kashthas, or about 2 minutes.
15 Laghus make one Nadika, which is also called a danda. This equals the time before water overflows in a six-pala-weight [fourteen ounce] pot of copper, in which a hole is bored with a gold probe weighing four masha and measuring four fingers long. The pot is then placed on water for calculation.
    2 Dandas make one Muhurta.
6 or 7 Dandas make one Yamah, or 1/4th of a day or night.
4 Praharas or 4 Yamas are in each day or each night.
    LUNAR METRICS
a tithi (also spelled thithi ) or lunar day is defined as the time it takes for the longitudinal angle between the moon and the sun to increase by 12°. Tithis begin at varying times of day and vary in duration from approximately 19 to approximately 26 hours.
a paksa (also paksha) or lunar fortnight consists of 15 tithis
a masa or lunar month (approximately 29.5 days) is divided into 2 pakshas: the one between new moon and full moon is called gaura (bright) or shukla paksha; the one between full moon and new moon krishna paksha
    a ritu is 2 masa
    an ayanam is 3 rituhs
    a year is 2 Aayanas
    TROPICAL METRICS
    a Yaama (याम) = 1/4th of a day(light) or night [ = 7½ Ghatis (घटि) = 3¾ Muhurtas (मुहूर्त) = 3 Horas (होरा) ]
4 Yaamas 1 half of the day (either day or night)
    8 Yaamas 1 day (day + night)
an Ahoratram is a tropical day (Note: A day is considered to begin and end at sunrise, not midnight.)
Reckoning of time among other entities
Reckoning of time amongst the pitrs.
1 human day = 1/30 day of the pitrs
30 days of human is 1 month of human = 1 day of the pitrs
12 months of human = 1 year of the pitrs
The lifespan of the pitrs is 100 years of the pitrs (= 3,600 human years)
Reckoning of time amongst the Devas.
1 human year = 1 day of the Devas.
30 days of the Devas = 1 month of the Devas.
12 months of the Devas = 1 year of the Devas
The lifespan of the Devas is 100 years of the Devas (= 36,000 human years)
The Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III explains the above as follows:
2 Ayanas (six month periods, see above) = 1 year or one day (day + night) of the devas
360 days of the devas = 1 year of the devas
12,000 years of the devas = 4 Yugas
    Reckoning of time for Brahma.
12,000 years of the Devas = 1 day of Brahma (4320,000,000 human years). This day is divided into 10, 000 parts called charanas.
The charanas are divided as follows:
    The Four Yugas
4 charanas (1,728,000 solar years) Satya Yuga
3 charanas(1,296,000 solar years) Treta Yuga
2 charanas(864,000 solar years) Dwapara Yuga
1 charanas(432,000 solar years) Kali Yuga
The cycle repeats itself so altogether there are 1000 cycles of yugas in one day of Brahma.
One cycle of the above four yugas is one mahayuga (4.32 billion solar years)
A manvantara consists of 71 mahayugas (306,720,000 solar years). Each Manvantara is ruled by a Manu.
After each manvantara follows one Sandhi Kala of the same duration as a Krita Yuga (1,728,000 = 4 Charana). (It is said that during a Sandhi Kala, the entire earth is submerged in water.)
A kalpa consists of a period of 1,728,000 solar years called Adi Sandhi, followed by 14 manvantaras and Sandhi Kalas.
    A day of Brahma equals
    (14 times 71 mahayugas) + (15 x 4 Charanas)
    = 994 mahayugas + (60 Charanas)
    = 994 mahayugas + (6 x 10) Charanas
    = 994 mahayugas + 6 mahayugas
    = 1000 mahayugas
as is confirmed by the Gita statement
    "sahasra-yuga paryantam ahar-yad brahmano viduH",
meaning, a day of brahma is of 1000 (maha-)yugas. Thus a day of Brahma, kalpa, is of duration: 4.32 billion solar years. Two kalpas constitute a day and night of Brahma
30 days of Brahma = 1 month of Brahma (259,200,000,000 human years)
12 months of Brahma = 1 year of Brahma (3,110,400,000,000 human years)
25 years of Brahma = 1 kalpa (77,760,000,000,000 human years)
    2 kalpas = 1 parardha (155,520,000,000,000 human years)
2 parardhas = 100 years of Brahma, the lifespan of Brahma (311,040,000,000,000 human years)
The Vishnu Purana Time measurement section of the Vishnu Purana Book I Chapter III explains the above as follows:
360 days of the gods = 1 year of the gods
12,000 years of the gods = 4 Yugas
1,000 sets of 4 Yugas = a day of Brahmá
    50 years of Brahma = 1 Pararddham
    100 years of Brahma = 1 Param
    4,000 + 400 + 400 = 4,800 years = 1 Krita Yuga
    3,000 + 300 + 300 = 3,600 years = 1 Tretá Yuga
    2,000 + 200 + 200 = 2,400 years = 1 Dwápara Yuga
    1,000 + 100 + 100 = 1,200 years = 1 Kali Yuga
Alternately, the reigns of 7 Rishis, Indra and Manu = 1 Manwantara = 71x12,000+A (A is not given) = 852,000 years of the gods+A (A is not given)
    14 Manwantaras = a day of Brahmá
VEDIC TIME UNITS GREATER THAN A KALPA
Ancient vedic cosmology takes into account handful of time spans which are even greater than one Kalpa or a day of Brahma. One such unit is a "Maha-Kalpa" which is composed of 36000 such days of Brahma. One Maha-Kalpa is considered as the lifetime of Brahma. There are time units which are larger than one Maha-Kalpa. The largest of them has been calculated as several quadrillions of human years. This precise and massive calculations indicate one important aspect of vedic time system, that, whenever the term "Infinity" has been mentioned in Vedas, it does not indicate something very large. Instead, it appears that the term is meant to refer its literal synonym itself.

    3. Maha kal (Time )
    4. Kal (Black space)
    (Today modern Science says
Space and Time are not different they are different attribute of 1 thing and Hindus use 1 word "Kal")
    1. Param Atma
    2. Param tatva
    Both are Param (Supreme)
    Hence equal
    Atma = Tatva
    Energy = Matter
    E = M
Both can not be created nor destroyed only translated ( or incarnated) into another form (or body )
    Both are Trinity
    *Energy* has trinity aspect
    1. Creation +ve
    2. Preservaton =
    3. Destruction -ve
    *Matter* has trinity aspect
    1. Proton +ve
    2. Neutron =
    3. Electron -ve
    Hindus personified it as
    Brahma +ve
    Vishnu =
    Shiva -ve
Since Energy and matter are two
    2 types of worship
    1. Meditation (Yog-atma se param atma)
    2. Idol worshipping
    Why idol worshipping?
Hindus do the same rituals on the purchase of car bike house TV AC etc which we do before idols
    Bcoz
A car can be moulded into an Idol of Natraja
But no change in the composition of the proton neutron electron
Proton and neutron are always connected form Nucleous
Brahma and Vishnu are also always connected through navel cord (Nabhi)
Nucleous Hindi name is also "Nabhi"
Vishnu the personification of preservative aspect of the Universe energy
    Or
    Simply
    Vishnu the preserver
1st avatar of Vishnu was Fish 🐠
2nd Avatar of Vishnu was Turtle 🐢
    Now in last 150 years
Science says the same how life evolved and preservered on Earth
    So
Param atma + Param tatva + Maha kal + Kal = Universe (Brahm or Brahmand)
The highest manifestion of Brahm is *Para Brahm*
    Multi Universe

They use religion as their excuse to do their evil desires. We don't call them Muslims. Islam teaches to love and respect ourselves and others. I am a Muslim and never was I ever taught to misbehave in the name of religion. I think it is difficult to really make others understand Hinduism. There are so many different branches, some have massive numbers of followers, like this branch that usually gets covered in the western media. But there are so many others, the oldest, most basic ones that are much more philosophical than mythical. Branches that influenced buddhism, that study the vedas, books that are ancient and contain many answers that have later been proven to be right by modern science. I'd love it if hinduism would be covered more broadly, with the other branches, that shows the differences and the main root, of which it all came from.

    Such a pure concept ❤️ Proud to be a Hindu - a Sanatani 🙏🕉️❤️
But there's more to Hinduism than this and concepts of idol worship as people usually understand. Not many know but Hinduism also consists of those who do not believe in idol worship but believe that one can directly connect with the supreme entity because that supreme entity not only created all but we are all derived from the supreme entity so that supreme entity resides within us. While Vedas consist discription of different gods, it also indicates that there is an ultimate supreme entity. The multiple number of gods are condemned by others but in reality they are not multiple gods but different forms of the supreme - each roop/form shows some good virtue/strength... For example the venom in Shiva's throat indicates no matter how much toxicity is around you, or you have to take in to save others - you cannot let that toxicity get within you or reach your heart... You are to be pure and spread purity... Interestingly there can be different interpretations of this as well... The reason why idol worship is allowed is because the supreme not only created humans but everything in the universe and resides in everything - even the soil used for making the idol is created by the supreme... Once an idol is made, there is a process of pran pratishtha which means awakening the dormant form of supreme within the idol... then it is worshipped with love and affection just as a family member... Mantras create vibrations which are even helpful for spreading positivity within one's own self.... True, you don't NEED idols to become one with the supreme but even if you DO NEED, it's perfectly fine and pure... because Hinduism doesn't compel one to believe in a particular manner in a particular entity... As long as you are in the path of spirituality, as long as you are in righteous path, as long as you are in the path of salvation/moksha (purifying your soul as well as helping others to purify theirs to become one with the supreme) no matter what way you choose to do it... Hinduism is much more than just a religion, it is a way of life, it is liberating and therefore it is not limited to a particular book - not limited to the requirement of staying in a particular path because some superior entity asked so... It is everything and more - includes philosophy and symbolic representations and not many can appreciate that... It is so huge that today no single person can understand the entire thing by heart and no one needs to because it gives you option to choose your way...
That being said, it doesn't matter by what name you call the supreme entity - You can call the entity God /bhagwan/Allah - but they're the same... A rose is a rose - call it by whatever name... Hinduism considers the world is one i.e. Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam and therefore each is governed by the same principles. Where it diverges from other religions is the fact that other religions require belief in the supreme entity of a particular name and does not recognise the possibility of multiple forms of the same entity (like different planets formed from the same materials) ... For example, It is even okay in Hinduism if someone wants to believe in say Jesus and Shiva at the same time... But under Hinduism Jesus won't merely be a messenger of God but another form of purest soul - another form of God... There can be more than one purest souls at different times in different places- and if that is so then Hinduism doesn't consider it proper to compel everyone to believe in a single entity in a particular form... Interestingly you can even be an atheist and a Hindu...
The concept of Hinduism is not small enough to be compiled in a single scripture let alone a single comment.... So just a request - if you are finding it difficult to appreciate the philosophy behind Hinduism or concepts like idol worship, feel free to not resort to idol worship and believe in the supreme entity of any name ... But do not straightaway condemn it - there is always more to it than meets the eye and just because we are unable to understand something does not make the thing wrong - An expert in history cannot possibly understand intricate concepts of physics, or vice versa, but that doesn't render the concepts wrong... The least we can do is respect and appreciate each other and each other's beliefs... I believe in this because that's what Hinduism has taught me.. love and peace.. May Shiva/Christ/Allah bless you ❤️

Shadrak Sk allah is the Arabic word for god. Arabic jews use it, so it isn’t necessarily a Quran only thing.
Also, where in the Bible does it talk about jehovah? Jehovahs witnesses wouldn’t come into being for literally thousands of years, and Jews would only mention YHWH.

Mowgli Graal many Christian denominations, most famously Catholics, believe in the holy trinity consisting of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They further believe God is all three at the same time while being separate. So technically god the son (Jesus) would’ve created heaven like god the father and god the Holy Spirit.
What proof do you have that Hindus pray to god the father? Hinduism and Abrahamic faiths have wildly different belief systems and culture, and Hindus pray to many different gods, not just Brahma. Though I do admit Brahma would probably be the closest thing to God in a non abrahamic faith.

What if, at each call you make, you question how the phone works? You will lose it yeah? Similarly, what’s been created, evolved or programmed, may be a little beyond comprehension for most us laymen. And that is where faith, devotion and commitment seizes in. There will come a point, when all these faiths would speak its origins in its truest form. And it will be a day the earth will bloom with joy and shower in love.

I think of hindu mythology in a different way because in ancient hindu scriptures and texts they mostly use metaphor to explain illogical things and that time period.
Think it like this " shiva as a nuclear reactor, shakthi as the atomic energy, ganga as the coolant. Then you will get the point.
Shiva is often worshiped in his lnga form which is identical to a model of nuclear reactor, shakthi is refered to as wife of shiva and she is the source of his powers and shakthi could only be controlled by shiva. If shakthi is controlled she is brings good to the world and if she is uncontrollable she can reek havoc by destroying earth itself. And ganga is refered to as river who flows from the hair (jatta) of shiva which keeps him cool and his anger in check. And if shiva became angry he can destroy all the creation.
So it means shakthi (atomic energy) if go through controlled reaction with shiva (reactor) brings good to the world and if uncontrolled reaction took place it will cause nuclear disaster and ganga (coolant) which flows through the shiva ( reactor) keep his temperature in check.

The belief of gods in Hinduism is mostly based on science."Bramha is the creator of this universe" means that Bramha is the "force" or "energy" behind the creation of the universe or better known as "multiverse"."Shiva is the destroyer" indicates that he is the "force" or "energy" behind the destructive things present in space such as black holes etc.Since things get destroyed after a certain point of time,it explains why Shiva is the "timekeeper" (as I said he is the force or energy behind destruction). And "Vishnu is the preserver" means that he is the force or energy that is keeping the universe (or multiverse) preserved or "stable". And we Hindus believe that these "forces" or "energies" have consciousness (because even souls are a form of energy and consciousness are the main reason why organisms are animated or are "alive")( In other words, the organic bodies are vessels of souls). And in other words we are worshipping nature spiritually. And this "information" was obtained by our great saptarishis or 7 sages when they were at a high level of meditational trance.

Jouke Seinstra this story is actually to show early humans a basic interpretation of our world's creation. If you think of it as the gods being characters to tell stories that would make sense to early humans then the story makes sense. The river ganga represents the water from the asteroids which came from space or what in the story is called heaven. The water then gave life to the earth making the land the oceans and later on was the main source for life.

It's all science written in Indian ancient books. A logical calculation of age of Brahma = 100 years.
So lifespan of Brahma =100 years = (311,040,000,000,000 human years) 311 trillon human years.

(Hymn from the Rig Veda, one of the Vedas, the supreme texts of Hinduism)
"There was neither non-existence nor existence then; there was neither realm of space nor the skies beyond it. What stirred? Where? In whose protection? Was there water, unfathomed depth of water?
Death was not then, nor was there aught immortal: no sign was there, the day's and night's provider.
That One Thing, breathless, breathed by its own nature:
apart from it was nothing watsoever.
Darkness there was: at first concealed in darkness this All was undiscriminated chaos.
All that existed then was void and formless: by the great power of warmth was born that unit. Then fire arose within One; and in the fire arose love.
This was the seed of the soul.
    Sages have found this seed within their hearts;
They have discovered that it is the bond between existence and non-existence.
Who really knows? Who can here proclaim it? Whence was it born? Whence comes this creation?
The gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe.
Who knows then whence it first came into being?
He, the first origin of this creation, whether He formed it all or did not form it,
Whose eye controls this world in highest heaven,
Only He knows it, or perhaps He knows not."

There are many different versions of creation in Hinduism. The version mentioned is historically one of the latest ones. One of the ancient is just like the Big Bang, a big egg was there, called the Brahmanda (Huge Egg) which brusted with sound Om... There are other versions too.... One atheistic version in Hinduism (Yes, hinduism has atheistic versions too, as it is not exactly a religion of western definition), including the Rig Veda questions the very knowlege of creation, how can one possibly know about it....

      @Galavya41 8 ปีที่แล้ว +31

I do agree with you but I dont think that Rig Veda or the various philosophical pondernigs of the Vedic Literature could be considered as " Theist " or " Atheist " . Dharma is a whole different concept than Religion and western ideas and western words which define those ideas do not do complete justice to Eastern Dharmic concepts and traditions .
Vedic Dharma is so different from Abrahamic Religions that IMO its a bit improper to use words like " theist" and " atheist" to define it .Let us look at what Hinduism holds to be the Absolute. The ultimate goal and Absolute of Hinduism is termed "Brahman" in Sanskrit. The word comes from the Sanskrit verb root brh, meaning "to grow". Etymologically, the term means "that which grows" (brhati) and "which causes to grow" (brhmayati). Brahman, as understood by the scriptures of Hinduism, is a very specific conception of the Absolute. This unique conception has not been replicated by any other religion on earth, and is exclusive to Hinduism. Thus to even call this conception of Brahman "God" is, in a sense, somewhat imprecise. This is the case because Brahman does not refer to the anthropomorphic concept of God of the Abrahamic religions. When we speak of Brahman, we are referring neither to the "old man in the sky" concept, nor to the idea of the Absolute as even capable of being vengeful, fearful or engaging in choosing a favorite people from among His creatures. For that matter, Brahman is not a "He" at all, but rather transcends all empirically discernable categories, limitations and dualities.
As far as this story goes , its from the Bhagwat Purana .Great VEdic Masters like Adi Shankara have categorically said that the Puranas are symbolic expressions of Vedic Philosophical ideas .

    • @shangogoi
      @shangogoi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

Dharma View What you think as Hinduism is just a narrow tradition inside Hinduism. That part is the Vedantic Hinduism. Hinduism as you and I agree is more than western concept of religion. Religion or to be more accurate different religious sects among hinduism are just part of it. There are atheistic philosophies and traditions in hinduism. You can alwasy categorise "theistic" and "atheistic" whether its' about "Brahman" or "Old man in the Sky" or like the Sikhs believe "genderless, shapelss Someone", or majority of current Hindus believe 33 crores or one "mother", or "creator", "preserver", "destroyer", or about doing good, irrespective of there's some super power controlling us or not.
And Purans were not symbolic expressions of Vedic ideas, they are cult making ideas... The Upanishads are expansion and somewhat modifications of Vedic philosophies.

    • @Galavya41
      @Galavya41 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Sir thanks for taking time to reply to my comment . Vedanta or the Upasana Kanda is not some " narrow tradition " in the Vedic Dharma . In fact the basics of Vedic Dharma are to be found in the Vedic Literature . I think you meant " Adwaita " tradition but Vedanta is not just Adwaita Philosophy . Visishtadwaita , Shuddhadwaita and Achintya Bhedabhed al all Vedantic Philosophies .
Sir as far as the Puranas are concerned I think as a HIndu the ideas of bonafied Vedic Masters like Adi Shankara are to be taken before anybody else . Thats because other peoples views dont have any direct effect on how a Hindu accepts or interprets the puranas . It will always be how the masters or Rishis viewed the Puranas . Puranas are Smriti Granthas and hence can and should be changed according to Desh - Kal nyaya . As times and societies change so must a Purana or any Smriti Grantha . People who were and are unaware of this basic fact about Puranas and their intent created sects ( I would not use the word cult ) around them . I have no problem with creating sects as long as people read the puranas right . For example right at the beginning of Srimad Bhagwatam we have the story of Bhakti( Devotion) and her two sons Gyan ( Knowledge) and Vairagya ( renunciation ) , only a fool would take this story as an actual event . All acharyas have accepted that the story is symbolic of higher philosophical ideas . The puranas are a mix of such symbolism with a dash of history .
The language of the Vedas is archaic, and the subtle philosophy of the Vedanta and the Upanishads is difficult to grasp and assimilate. Hence, the Puranas are of special value as they present philosophical truths and precious teachings in an easier manner. The mission of the Puranas by and large has been to popularize the Vedic  truths by means of narratives, stories and anecdotes.
As far as Theism and Atheism is concerned . I get you point but I am hesitant to use western words to describe eastern ideas. The Sages have used Sanskrit words like 'Astik' and 'Nastik' to describe the various school of thoughts within Dharmic traditions . 'Astik 'does not translates well as 'Theist 'and 'Atheist 'would be an improper translation of 'Nastik' . IMO 'Orthodox' and 'Unorthodox ' would be better suited to describe Astik and Naskik philosophies respectively. The main intent of all these sects is to establish DHARMA in life . The ' Astiks ' seek to establish Dharma in an orthodox way and the Nastiks want to establish Dharma as well but in an unorthodox manner. Unlike the western idea of " theism " and " atheism" which are basically at odds with each other and do not find a common ground , the Astik and Nastik traditions are not anti each other . They might not agree to each others views but there is no enmity between them .

I do agree with many of your points. But please avoid calling me "Sir". We are equal humans....
Now, I don't think I've said, Upanishads are narrow traditions of Vedic Dharma. I've said, Upanishads form one narrow tradition of Hinduism. My understanding about Hinduism is not a religion, neither western, nor eastern. It's the collection of different yet somewhat similar culture of the people residing near the river Indus back in those days. Whether you follow todays "Hinduism" or as I personally prefer to call it "Manuism" or Puranic traditions or Vedantic traditions, they all are Vedic Dharma. but not Hinduism itself. It's not a "Dharma" nor a "Religion". It's a broad set of philosophies and lifestyle and culture, some may be todays "Hinduism", some Atheistic, some agnostics.
Now, about only a fool believes, well, it seems, many believes in such stories. So, I wouldn't pass any judgement on those who do so, rather prefer to avoid it.
Yes, being Astik or Nastik isn't about Theist, or Atheist. I do agree with you. Still the point remains, we can devide the ideas in todays western terms, atheistic, theistic, agnostics and spiritual, etc. I may have less word to define it, but one can certainly add, it would be great. And, I wouldn't use the words Orthodox and unorthodox. Orthodoxy itself isn't a constant thing, it keeps changing with time. What people may considers orthodox today may not be orthodox after a decade or so.
But yes, I get your point.

This is like a kids story.... I'll never forget how terrified I was when I walked into a Sikh temple in India I was like 10years old & nobody was in the temple but me & I was looking at all the portraits on the walls of Sikhs being killed brutally & in the temple I didn't feel safe or protected I felt scared like I could feel evil spirits all around that place.... I converted to Christianity & am a believer of the lord & Savior Jesus Christ now when I go to a Indian temple with my mother for her religious events I don't feel scared or them evil spirits I know im saved & them spirits cant touch me I try to talk to other Indian people but gosh they are the most stubborn people on the planet lmao.

"walked into a sikh temple", you mean a gurdwara? If you're proselytizing christ in a gurdwara, like a lilBrain zealot, then yeah.. Most people of 2023 are going to tell you to pop off out of their face and go back to dark ages. To go to a dharmic temple and proselytize Christ is hilariously worldly and simply shows you don't understand just how existentially deep dharmic schools go. There not "being stubborn", they just don't care to entertain your armchair of illusion.
If you were a well studied sikh you would understand that many are not being stubborn, but rather see what youre doing as a lack of proper discrimination and detachment towards worldly illusion... so they are not interested. Judging by the irrational superstitious nature of your story, as well as the ego present... you were not much of a mindful and knowledgable sikh to begin with (if you even were at all).
These worldly and superstitious stories of "I was saved, now the demons in this temple can't get me" provides nothing but a cosmic chuckle for those established in proper existential qualities and observation. Who is this I? There is no one that needs saving, no doer... Yet nothing remains undone.
Your comment honestly makes me wonder if you were sikh at all. If this is a true story...

God is one according to Hinduism, many people fails to understand that. Krishna states that he is the God in Human Form in Bhagavad Gita. He states God is formless. We worship God in any form,it goes to that one Almighty God. As like as other religions Hinduism also speaks of Love,he states that one must love the God while worshipping him,one who can not believe in the formless God,can worship the idol,it reaches to the God,the main thing is Faith and Love. Those millions of god are just metaphorical or just manifestations of the Almighty, that is difficult to understand. It is stated that those forms are because of relationship of humans between God,some worship him as Father, some worship as mother, people must have relationship with God. I am sad so many people fail to understand and stupid people state us as Satanic and other things.
