oh i remember this time around many years ago. yeah they lobbied pac for a super fight with canelo, or GGG. canelo is still are super welterweight champ then, and manny is at welterweight. they wanted canelo to go down but canelo camp suggested he can't make weight. so manny accepted a catch at up weight at 150 i think. then canelo camp didn't accept it. they're worried he would dehydrate just to make weight, so the fight fell off. then later canelo campaigned on the middle weight and fought cotto. GGG a middle weight champ then wanted the fight and was willing to go down at superwelter, but it's still to big for manny who walks around 155 and cut weight during fights to be legit 140 pound and kinda smaller at 147. tho he is faster than natural welterweights, that has been his advantage. so they lobbied the same catch weight to GGG 152 i think, but they couldn't accept too because they think GGG can't lose that much weight. all fights fell off, they continue to campaign at the middle weight class while manny stayed at the welterweight. i remember when manny fought margarito he weight 149 during weigh in and 155 at fight night. while tony weight more than 170 during the fight. after that manny never fought in the super welter again, he didn't defend the belt. he said it's too big for him.
