A solid coop and run would solve most of the problems with losing chickens
I sank my edges in a foot and a half of concrete. Chicken wire and a heavier guage of fencing on top. I only lost 1 chicken in my life. One of my working line German Shepherds who wasn't chicken trained got out of her kennel and killed one. My male jumped her for it though 😅

Im 60 years old, as a child my father trapped racoons at construction sites, home builds, ect. He used donuts as bait. Trapped so many it paid for a new truck.( not bad for a side hustle)

When stuff starts to get our chickens (normally raccoon) I use wet cat food (cheap like 65cent canned stuff) and sardines for bait

Back in the 60's I used the Steel leg hold traps ( Victor #2 Jump trap ) some tin foil ( shinny side out ) on the pan. The coon reaches for it and WHAM , he's caught. No Moonlight , put some sardine oil on the pan in place of the tin foil.
Last few years switched to the Have-A-Heart Catch a live , some sardines works wonders. Marshmallows also make a great bait. Sardines might get the neighbors cat but marshmallows will get the coon or a passing by possum.
Nothing more funny than chickens and roosters that attack you. Get exotic weird strange goofy chickens. A random flock of goober chickens

You should get the cabin spray foamed, a good closed cell foam would help alot in the winter and it acts as a draft /bug barrier.

I've been commenting about it since that thing was built lmao. Chicken wire is to keep chickens in, not keep predators out! My man flair wouldn't know hardware cloth if it bit him in the ass haha. All he has to do to protect the pigeons is put a bunch of perches up so they can fly away from the coon and not have to touch the ground. He'll learn one day, but if I were him and had a farm and a lot of land i'd get and actually secure chicken coop that's dig proof and just let them rip during the day and get an automatic door to lock at night. If he gets them young they will learn to go back in every night at the same time like clockwork.

Morning, when using the panels for fencing it's best to overlap a couple of squares when joining another panel. This will strengthen the whole thing. Using mechanics zip ties works as a fast joined for connect fence to posts or panels to panels. When I had my farm I had a raccoon kill a huge favorite rooster. It was too big to carry off so they just decapitated him. This rooster stood almost up to my thigh. One huge gentle giant 🐔. I love your attitude toward those marauding killers. They deserve NO MERCY!!!--

Use marshmallows in your dog proofs with one or two on the ground next time. They work wonders. Also lay chicken wire on the ground attached to your wire walls and cover it with dirt. Then animals can't dig down to get in. You'll need a roof or chicken wire cover to keep them out up top. If you want an animal to get the bait in your trap you don't leave a feast all around it.

A friend of mine worked at a home for special people. They had a camel on the farm. One of the special individuals ripped a huge piece of fur off of the camel and said he was gonna make a winter coat out of it! I laughed so hard I almost passed out🤣🤣. So everytime Flair says Ralph is shedding his coat and tears a piece off, I start cracking up😂

I know flair probably won't see this, but my buds used to line floor of their chicken coops with chicken wire to prevent foxes and raccoons from digging up under it. They also would line the outside with river rocks to also prevent this

To stop the raccoon digging from the bottom you should bend chicken wire form the wall to the floor facing inwards and cover with dirt. Stops foxes digging in my chicken pen
