Me too. I live in a lil valley in southern Ohio. There have been no tornadoes in recorded history even. I will never leave.

I lived with my mother and stepfather for a year in Fort Myers when I was 5 years old, kindergarten time. Remember the canal and palm trees in our yard and the beautiful seashells at nearby Sannabel Island beach. So it is heartbreaking to hear about the hurricane's strong impact on this area!

2 years ago hurricane laura hit Calcasieu Parish and surrounding areas. They said it was a cat 4, but it was a cat 5 at 155 mph and higher. It looked like bombs exploded all over the place. So it hasn’t been decades since a hurricane hit the gulf coast.

My aunt left and went 2 hrs across flordia to st lucie just to stay safe they live in punda gorda. I pray that there house is okay. And all there older neighbors that stayed because this hurts. The canal is in there back yard. It hurts because I know that there home is most likely gone. No matter how much and how hard anyone protects there house this storm is tooo much. It’s so damn sad 😭😭😭

This was very hard to deal with. Haven’t slept more than a couple hours preparing for this damn thing for 3 days straight. The eye was coming for us but wobbled to Ft. Myers and barely missed us. We were spared the eye.
I live in port Charlotte Florida all my life, two eyes, two eyes first Charley and then Ian at least the eye is calm it gives you a short brake to get to a safe place.

We had a hurricane in 2019 and I remember how bad it was it ripped our roof off but lucky we were in our other home we had to go out and tie down all of chicken pens one of them flipped over a fence....I am praying that you are all ok and safe
