A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. During his time off, SpongeBob has a knack for attracting trouble with his starfish best friend, Patrick. Arrogant octopus Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob's neighbor, dislikes SpongeBob because of his childlike behavior.

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching our Reaction to Spongebob! See you soon!
Im sorry you guys did not like that episode of wormy
@@ultimatealdo1922i mean can u blame them for not liking it lmao 😂
I liked that episode as a child
Even butterflies are friendly bugs they can be creepy but they’re friendly
It's actually a horsefly closeup
What's even funnier is the fact both you guys find the close up of the butterfly "Wormy" horrifying
I will admit that loud buzzing used is probably not a pleasant sound for headphone users.
The buzzing sound is what gets me.
To make it more scary they used the head of a horsefly, not the head of a butterfly.
@@legadomerrick5301Even the face is a moth
@@legadomerrick5301Yeah my mom's friend said this episode got her hollering with laughter
The funny thing is, that wasn't even a close up of a butterfly. Its a horsefly.
That doesn't make it any better. Butterflies up close are terrifying as well
I really wish I never googled that 😭
It was even used in the insects episode in Bill Nye The Science Guy
"We did it, Patrick! We saved the city!" Always has me in stitches. Also, I can't be the only one who was a little traumatized by that insect jumpscare.
Thank you for the super thanks!
I honestly loved the episode but was always too scared to watch it in a dark room. And the close up wasn’t a butterfly, it was a horse fly
I'm still terrified of insects to this day
I’m not scared of insects but seeing them close up is pretty terrifying
Same here, but I weirdly never got a fear of butterflies. Maybe because I've grown up with books that showed what a butterfly was supposed to look like close up, maybe it's the several generations of Painted Lady butterflies I've raised since 3rd grade, but I've just gotten a fear of buzzing things like bees, flies, etc.
The butterfly closeup is scarier than any horror movie I've seen.
It’s actually a close up look of a Horse Fly.
As a kid, I was always terrified by looking at the face of a moth. Still kind a creepy to me though.😅
@@alvaroperez2349 I know this, but I said "butterfly" because that's what it's supposed to be in the episode.
@@anamelessyoutuber1462 I Seen It Because That Episode With Real Life Fly That Scared Me
no fr that scene literally terrified me so much as a kid 😂😂
3:20 fun fact: that’s actually the close up of a Horse Fly that was used for this episode.
Honestly, SpongeBob's rant at the end of Grandma's Kisses is a mood. Being an adult often sucks and it's easy to wish to go back to childhood when life was simpler and you had no real responsibilities. While the episode is mean spirited, I do like the message that growing up doesn't automatically mean having to give up all the stuff you liked as a kid.
Squidward and the rest were losers for laughing at that like how much time do you have to make fun of someone who loves their grandmother
@@ACinemafanaticThey are just jealous that they don't have a loving grand mother like her.
I couldn't stop laughing at your guys' reactions to the close ups of the horsefly lmao. Especially Nick when he moved away fast from his reaction circle.
Running gag of the video.
@@FlintArtist Ever watch Bill Nye the science guy episode about insects?
@@sanctuary9992oh nah don't give me flashbacks
@@sanctuary9992 I actually have a video of that on my channel. I will say the Bill Nye the Science Guy version is a little less scary as it's slower and there's no loud buzzing played in that "Insects" episode.
That was a horsefly? I thought it was a monarch butterfly close up but with a bee buzzing noise😅
Patrick: “Are you Squidward?
Fire Hydrant: “….”
Patrick: “That’s okay, take your time.”
Love that moment, lol 😄
I really liked how SpongeBob came up with “Pretty Patties”, and he was more successful than Mr. Krabs ever was. That’s why I really like the Patty Hype episode.
What makes it better is that Krabs took over and let SpongeBob have the Krusty Krab, while he inadvertently suffers the consequences of the Pretty Patties.
I feel like there's some sort of commentary about themed restaurants in there. Or food service gimmicks in general? Like, SpongeBob created Pretty Patties because multicolored patties seemed cool to him, and he gained success from it (even if his lack of business skills caused that success to not be a financial one). Mr. Krabs, who already didn't believe in going to a restaurant for fun as well as food, took over for no other reason than because they were gaining customers, and didn't know how to make them right, and had to suffer because of it.
Well Jim the fry cook before SpongeBob did tell Mr. Krabs that SpongeBob will never reach his full potential as a fry cook if he continues to work under and for Mr. Krabs so that proves it.
Too bad they had side effects
10:00 I never understood why they are laughing when the ONLY fry cook in the restaurant just walked out
Who would they cook for? Everyone was going to the Shell Shack.

The wormy episode is a bit cuter to think about if you consider the reason why he kept chasing and hiding from them was because he thought they were playing hide an seek again like the day before.
Omg, I didn't think that! That's actually wholesome
Kinda sad at the same time when nobody wanted to be near Wormy
Wormy's closeup >>>>>>>>>>>>> Every horror movie jumpscare
3:21, 4:12 & 5:41
I'm glad I got to see Cody & Nick get scared from a "horsefly". XD
According to the Wikia, that's the insect they used for the close-up shots for Wormy; the other was a Monarch Butterfly. :D
24:07-25:00 This is what being in college is like. Once you get used to having the same routine every day, it gets so boring because you’re used to it now.
Y'all pray for Nick this episode, I think he's gonna need it!!😅😆 I kinda had a feeling Wormy was gonna freak him out at least a little bit.
Poor guy’s probably gonna have nightmares after this.
@@isaacstevenson2960we all had when we first watched this as kids, myself included
Well, I was hearing the episode, I could watch the images in my mind, nowadays, I am blind, but the close up of the butterfly will be always scary.

I died laughing. I never even thought Wormy would scare you guys THAT much! I always laughed at that episode as a kid, even as a 22 year old. Lol
1. I was never really scared of the close-up of Wormy when I was little.
2. I really want to try a Pretty Patty.
3. The Grandma's Kisses episode makes me miss my grandmother.
4. The Squidville episode is another example of Squidward actually liking SpongeBob.
Honestly, I was nerver scared of "Wormy." It's 1 of my favorite episodes. It's a classic.
I know right? 😂
As a kid, I just had a dead silent reaction to the horsefly close-up each time it's shown. I wasn't scared, but I didn't think it was funny either. Basically put when I saw it, I'm like "okay then..."
@@andykishoreme, too.
I can say it terrified me as a kid but I loved SpongeBob so I I didn’t stop watching
I enjoy the gag in the “Wormy” episode with the realistic footage of the wasp as the butterfly, having Spongebob and Co. comically screaming and fleeing in terror.
Edit: Horse Fly footage.
@@SpacialRend7Huh. I always thought it was actual close up footage of a butterfly. They lied!
@@davidwoodsuperguy2645 I thought it was a butterfly too it even looked like one.
As a kid, I just found it super hilarious that they were scared of a butterfly! Like honestly I'd be more scared of the worm than the butterfly
@@davidwoodsuperguy2645 Worms, caterpillars, and butterflies don't make buzzing sounds and the obnoxious buzzing sound is not played anywhere in the episode except for the horsefly close-ups. You definitely don't hear any buzzing sounds whenever Wormy is shown in his caterpillar form in this episode.
I love Grandma kisses episode. Spongebob acts like a grown-up to his grandma and Patrick loves being a baby. My favorite part is when he turned into a water sprinkler. No matter how old we get, we will always love our grandmas
👵👵👵💗💗💗🤣🤣🤣
I agree. For me, this episode really hit after my grandma passed away. It was the hardest death I’ve ever experienced because she was also my neighbor and we were really close.
@@GabbyGJROXJonesThe residents of bikini bottom are just jealous. They don't have a loving grandmother like her.
Oh you POOR sweet things 💔. I didn't think the Wormy episode would terrify you both. I thought it was one of most hilarious episodes of season 2 😂. But I still love your reaction videos of SpongeBob 😍
I just love the parts when they show an actual real bug. That's so frightening i laugh
Fun fact: it’s the close up of a Horse Fly that was used for this episode.
@@alvaroperez2349 Wow, think about behind the scenes of filming. It must have been. So tricky
@@way445I’m pretty sure it was some stock footage
@@christopherjohnsonthe2ndch644 According to the SpongeBob wiki, the live-action insect footage used throughout this episode are all royalty-free, and owned by Oxford Scientific Films. All of the footage can be found on Getty Images.
Grandma’s Kisses is probably one of my least favorites from S2. Mainly because of the way the fish folk, plus Squidward teasing Spongebob the way they did.
It's 1 of the worst episodes of the entire show due to how mean-spirited it is. I really didn't like how SpongeBob was treated throughout the episode.
Agree. Make me wished that Squidward and those fish got in trouble.
@@ideamediaanalysis8737My thoughts exactly. I really dislike it when antagonistic characters get away with the stuff they did in shows.
I couldn't agree more with that. Both that episode and the Great Snail Race are the worst and unfunny episodes by far in my opinion.
Yeah, it’s one of the few lest than stellar episodes of the early seasons
The Squidville episode is so relatable bc how Squidward was enjoying his new life in a new town, I personally felt the same way, I moved to a new town last year and at first I was very optimistic about it but overtime I began to really miss my old home and my old town
I don’t find the butterfly creepy at all… kinda loved the craziness of that episode. A butterfly caused all that horror. Loved the multiple coloured krabbypatty episode too. SpongeBob Grandmas and squidward leaving episode I remember watching and liking as a kid.
4:48
Cody: How did this not scar kids?
Oh believe me it actually did scar a lot of kids and just like you guys it still freaks out adults too. Wormy is actually one SpongeBob’s most controversial episodes and it’s because of those close-ups. I remember how creepy it was when I was a kid. So the episode was actually banned from being aired on TV.
3:21 The worst thing is that if you realize the insect head they use to scare people is not the head of a butterfly, but rather the head of a horsefly, a horrible bug that sucks blood like mosquitoes and whose bite hurts a lot since it tears your skin to suck your blood. It makes sense that they did this since the heads of horseflies are very unpleasant, while the head of a butterfly is not nearly as scary.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I felt for you guys with the close up of “Wormy” cause as an adult it’s still kinda unsettling for me, but as a kid that was the worst! Fun fact too: it’s not actually a butterfly they used, but actually a horsefly and that’s why it makes the obnoxious and scary sound effect 🤣
I’m not here because I enjoy the episode Wormy but for guys because I always enjoy your reactions! You guys are awesome! ❤
Fun Fact: Wormy Is Directed By Walt Dohrn Who Is The Director Of "Shrek 4" and "Trolls" At DreamWorks Animation
Actually, Shrek 4 was directed by Mike Mitchell. Walt Dohrn was just head of story. They both directed Trolls, but Walt was credited as co-director. He took over the second and third films when Mike left to direct the second Lego Movie (and, apparently, the fourth Kung Fu Panda).
I'm so sorry I laughed because you guys were freaking out over the butterfly. I wasn't making fun of your fear of bugs because I deeply sympathize! I'm absolutely terrified as spiders! The Grandma episode hits close to home though because my Grandma passed away last year and I miss her hugs and kisses
I relate to the first sentence
I remember being so scared of Wormy as a kid. If you guys think Wormy was scary, be prepared for the "I had an accident" episode. That one traumatized so many kids including me. 😅
Nick: "I'm not worried about bugs."
Also Nick: "😮."
Hey, I feel you guys for real though, that insect close up is nightmare fuel. Love you guys. See you next time
I was never really scared of the close-up of the butterfly/horsefly as a kid whenever they showed this episode on Nick. And after reading all the comments of everyone’s reaction to this episode, I still can’t believe how many people were traumatized by this when they were younger. To me, I always thought the fly from Beetlejuice, screaming for help as he was getting eaten was more creepy than this episode.
This episode was really creepy as a kid! You and Nick were brave to watch this as I still can't bring myself to check this out!
Loved both you and Nick's reaction Cody!!
7:32 when everyone came out screaming and cody’s face😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂i’m hollering
I think the closeups of Wormy are actually a Greenhead horse fly. We call them deer flies where I’m at. They’re the most disgusting creatures a dry summer has to offer.
Also I can’t blame Nick for being absent from the video during the closeups.😂😂😂
The Wormy episode freaked me out a bit as a kid
I sympathise with ya dudes but y'all reactions to the close ups were priceless 🤣
Lmao. Sorry you guys didn't like wormy, but those close ups kill me every time XD. Tho I'm now wondering how many kids were absolutely horrified by this episode
The company was clearly very proud of that episode since it's one of the episodes on the first SpongeBob DVD release called Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies. Likewise, one of the show's earliest VHS tapes called Sponge Buddies had a cover based on the "Wormy" episode.
As a kid, I didn't mind the bug jump scares. As an adult, they creep me out.
I think the episode would be less traumatizing without them.
I was just whatever silent to the horsefly close-ups as a kid, but they are creepy the more I think about them, such as the loud buzzing which honestly wasn't needed because worms, caterpillars, and butterflies don't make buzzing sounds at all in real-life or anywhere else in the episode.

6:20: Plus, there's a chubby pink starfish on the loose.
3:20, 4:12 & 5:41 I enjoyed you and Nick’s reactions to the Butterfly Jumpscare is golden, has me laughing my butt off! Its like watching the Alien movies with you guys🤣🤣🤣💯👍
Speaking of which, make it happen (if you have it on your list) I wanna see you & Nick do a collab together again for that movie reaction👌🤞
21:20 The music that plays in the background is the same that played in the Reef Blower episode, the short second episode of the first season ❤️
“Grandma’s Kisses” made me ugly cry, I was upset about growing up
14:05 If my calculations are correct. A Krabby Patty costs $2.99, or $0.99 cents on Wednesday. If the Krusty Krab is a fine restaurant, it costs $25.00. They want their money back. All 46,853 of them. That would be
$2.99= $140,090.47
$0.99= $46,384.47
$25.00= $1,171,325.00
This was a kick to watch!
Reminded me of myself when I would watch the Wormy episode, I’d be super scared too!
But this time I was laughing, great stuff!
It puts a smile on my face when you post more Spongebob videos :)
Lol you two literally just made my day with the close up reactions 😂😂😂, you guys are the best!!
Nick and Cody canonical in universe would have been running and lighting things on fire with the crowd of fisg 😂
I was looking forward to the Grandma's Kisses reaction and y'all delivered 😂 I had the entire episode memorized as a kid. It hits a little different now that I'm 28 and close with my grandma and great-grandma. Treasuring them while they're still here ☺
I love butterflies, they are my favourite insect, with their colourful wings and flying about....
But THAT was absolutely horrendous!!!!
I feel for you both so much❤
Believe me Cody, when I was a kid and I watched the butterfly/Wormy episode it scarred me. No joke every time the episode would air on Nickelodeon I would switch the channels 😂. Still gives me goosebumps to this day
I love the episode of pretty patties, every time I buy macaroons I like to call them pretty patties because they look like them and they come in a variety of colors!!!
I agree for 1 thing. That close up was unsettling. And that's an understatement
I realized now that worms in the series are like dogs what means Wormy is like a puppy. No wonder both love him immediately.
I can’t tell you how many times my cousin and I have re-enacted the “can’t see my forehead” scene 😂
Mr. Krabs: What’s wrong with you?
Random fish: (clicks off light to show glow in the dark tongue)
😂😂😂😂
It feels so funny to me seeing 2 grown men get the heeby-jeebies from a monarch butterfly. My school had us watch caterpillars turn into them as kindergarteners.
Never traumatized me as a kid 😂.
I just realized snails/worms are like household pets in Spongebob so wormy was probably something like a tiny puppy to Spongebob and Patrick. And they thought the butterfly ate it😭
For some reason Wormy never got to me like that. Even as a little kid it never affected me like that or scared me. Not one of my FAVORITE episodes, but I always liked it. I've just never been afraid or disgusted by insects, but I could understand someone that is not liking it.
I love bugs until they crawl on me, so I was never bothered. I used to carry caterpillars, worms, spiders, and grasshoppers around all the time. Honestly I had no idea people were genuinely scared of bugs until I showed my friend's mom a pair of mating crickets(they were in the middle of the sex as I held them in my hand and walked them over to her). The way she screamed and fell over was like a cartoon. I was so confused. Just harmless crickets. I proceeded to pat their heads and set them outside.
I’m so glad others share my terror of wormy. That episode seriously birthed my fear of bugs. Imma be honest, I looked away from the screen for the entirety of the episode, cuz I haven’t rewatched that episode since I first watched it when I was like, 8. Every time I see a butterfly now, I sprint in the other direction (much to my friend’s confusion).
Great reaction video Cody and Nick the sandy pet episode was great episode but close up of the butterfly face was terrifying
15:00 I know you’ve already seen some episodes with his parents, if you watch them back, you’ll see that they also look like cookies 😂
I love your Reactions so much😆😄
The butterfly closeup was so terrifying, and your Reaction: ,,I hope I never see this again'', omg😂
You know how Grandma's Kisses should have ended? With all the jerks who mocked SpongeBob crying over how heartwarming SpongeBob and his Grandma are.
I'm 23, and I still feel good whenever my Grandma and I do stuff together.
Your reactions to the close ups priceless.
Fun fact: The close-up shots of the butterfly's face are actually of a horse-fly.
You guys make my day with your reactions
Nice! I’m beat, just got home from work. I’m glad to kick back with you guys and watch some more SpongeBob!
I was never really scared of the horsefly close-up (I'm kind of an animal nerd). The only bugs I've ever been freaked out by were the ones I knew could either bite or sting.
Also, when I was little, my favorite movie was either Shrek or A Bug's Life.
But horseflies do bite, and they hurt!
@@asalways1504I didn't know that when I first saw the episode. Plus, it couldn't really bite through a screen.
Grandma's Kisses was one of my favourites growing up. When I was really little and couldn't read yet I called it "the cookie one" lol
I love this reaction in this scene of spongebob
1. 3:21 - 3:23
2. 4:12 - 4:16
3. 5:41 - 5:45

I have to watch every spongebob reaction you release 😂👌 theyre amazing
The picture of them tackling Mr.krabs was amazing lol😂❤
The horsefly close-ups made me laugh 😂😂😂
The insect shots weren’t nightmare inducing for me as a kid, but it was still disturbing no matter how many times I saw it. It’s still NOTHING compared to the Jeff Goldblum film ‘The Fly’
3:20 reaction was perfection
No that's not Italian, THIS is Italian!
"It's a Me, Mario! Wahoo! And a Luigi too, Ho ho!"
And as for the Wormy episode, any time that dreaded close up of Wormy happened, when I was a kid, I used to go to the other room until it ended. Which, fun fact, that wasn't a butterfly, that was a close up of a horsefly! And it still terrifies me! Get it away! Get it away! And apparently, this episode gave kids the fear of butterflies! Makes sense
You don't want to see it again? Oh no, you're about to see it two more times!
Close up #3: You're worried about it happening again? Don't worry, they're done terrorizing ya.
You know, I'm angry too. I too can't see my forehead.
19:11 Oh no, not this again.
911: 911, what's your emergency?
Me: Um yes, I...
911: Let me guess, two guys are watching a hilarious sea star say or do funny things again? Yeah, we know the drill.
Butterflies are one of the few insects that don’t bother me 😂 That’s hilarious how freaked out of the zoom in they were haha
Also I just noticed after all these years that they added like a buzzing fly sound to the butterfly
Cody I have the exact same feeling as you and Nick when I see that butterfly very close up 🤣🤣🤣
I remember when you two said you grew up with Fairly Oddparents and not SpongeBob. I actually grew up with both of those TV shows along with a bunch of other Nickelodeon shows! I liked watching Nickelodeon movies too as a kid!
Hey, I grew up with both of those shows too! But personally, I liked SpongeBob more, but Fairly Odd Parents was entertaining too
I also grew up with The Fairly OddParents and SpongeBob SquarePants, but I liked SpongeBob better.
SpongeBob: RUN EVERYBODY RUN MONSTER!!!.
20:15, I love that confused look on SpongeBob's face when he says he wants to wear diapers. It's like, deep down inside, even he's asking himself, "Okay, why am I saying this?"
The close-up of the bug definitely got me as a kid. Nowadays, it is not too bad lol😂
That butterfly closeup..I hadn't forgotten about it. But definitely didn't need the visual reminder 😂😅
I just started following and watching nickflix channel and I love it
Lol, your reactions to the horsefly close ups remind me of how I used to be terrified of bug monsters from any Zelda game I played.
And yes, I got over that fear long ago (but I still hate them).
Somehow Wormy’s closeup was scarier than Spongebob’s credits
I'm so happy to see that I'm not the only one who is scared of these close-ups. As a child I only remember that I found that episode interesting and something in it that I didn't quite understand, it were probably these close-ups. But only when I rewatched the whole three seasons five years ago, I really checked what these close-up were and than after rewatching it I felt scared and knew I don't want to see that Episode ever again. I still ask myself why they did this, this is a nightmare for everyone with insect phobia and who knows, maybe this episode was one of the reasons that I later on developed a fear for insects even though I didn't understand it as a child
but I already felt that something was off with that episode
The real bug gag scene got you both LMAO
That Wormy episode is truly the most scariest episode of SpongeBob SquarePants ever created, I just SKIP that episode alone!
I don't get why people are so scared of insects?
@mightywizard7475 same thing as people being afraid of anything. It’s not that serious lol
More scary then someone being turned into a snail?
I thought that close up was freaky but i was more bothered by the fact the whole town went through unnecessary stress and it was considered “saving it”
Most of the town didn’t even see the creepy part of the butterfly
Insects are my biggest fear. For some reason I'm more scared of flies than I am of wasps. They're just so horrifying to look at and the buzzing noises literally sickens me and I don't know why
i don't remember watching the insect episode as a kid! Maybe it's because My mother'a boyfriend's son was the only one watching thomas the tank engine and being spoiled with it, me and my brother were lucky if we could watch what we liked.
I hope you and Nickflix didn't get nightmares from that! That was nasty.
But great reaction!
27:34 “are you Squidward now?” 😂😂😂 lol
"Squidville" is actually a great episode tells: When you have you always wanted and never cant give a bettee thing later, you understand the only thing you wanted must be not that finished. Cause the moddiest when you have everyting you want is worst than moddiest you have before
Nick always getting ready for the close up butterfly scenes freaked out 😅😅😅
Yeah, Wormy would definitely freak out people with entomophobia, but depending on how you see it, the frightening nature of the close ups are what make the joke funny. Sorry to hear you guys didn't like that one, but as far as I remember there are no jumpscares like that for the rest of the original run, so don't worry about any others.
