  • Sometimes people will say anything to land their dream job. However, saying the right thing may not be what they need to be satisfied. In this talk, Rizzotto will redefine the idea of the perfect interview. Through Researching & Soul-Searching, listeners will identify their non-negotiables, accept challenges, and master the art of the interview. Ashley Rizzotto is a career advisor with the Office of Career Development at NSU. Ashley works with undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni to help them confidently pursue their career endeavors. Ashley is a proud native of Brooklyn, NY. She attended Stony Brook University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with two minors: Health and Wellness, and Women and Gender Studies. She continued her education by earning a Masters of Education degree in Student Affairs Administration and Higher Education at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to joining the Office of Career Development, Ashley has held roles in Career Services, Orientation Services, and Health and Wellness Education. These experiences, along with Ashley’s winding and bumpy career journey to find her own path inspires her daily in helping students discover the strengths that’ll set them up for success academically, socially, and professionally. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This is brilliant and a huge aspect of our own stubbornness and proving to ourselves that we can do it all. So many jobs we do because we can or because we teach ourselves the skills that we may not actually enjoy the tasks or are able to utilize our innate strengths within a job or field. This also has some influence on burnout in addition to manager and corporate culture. Doing things because we can or are able to is draining. Finding jobs where the tasks are enjoyable and where your own natural cognitive functions come alive in the day to day is a lot more meaningful for yourself, and can make a much larger impact.

This actually inspired a lot since I am in the period of time that considering what kind of career I would do in the long-term future. I would definitely work on my non-negotiable list and find out my strengths. Next time, when I searching for my job at LinkedIn or indeed, I would compare my N-N list to their job descriptions.
And this just remained me about a point of view that I heard yesterday -- you would earn the most amount of money when you doing the things you love. Super! I will be proud of myself and drop down my fear/anxiety for not being working right away.

The problem with this advice (great advice by the way )
That mean it assume "everyone think and dream about themself always right "
But for me people human wrong about anything all the time let alone "what is best for them"
They will and can answer that Question wrong too
Only try out in real situation can tell differrent
