The birds and animals seem to fare better, I saw footage on Sunday from another chaser with a herd of cows trotting across the road to eat grass and at Green Meadow a horse calmly eating while buildings were being torn apart, it was surreal. Thank you for filming, it was sad seeing the devastation.
Watching this video is the closest l will ever be to a hurricane of this strength. Some people stay and hope they get lucky and survive. I evacuated and created my own luck and survived.
Hope all the first responders and power lineman will stay safe as hurricane Ida passes through and hope that there is hope to see tomorrow after all the destruction. Please stay safe out there Brandon Ivey as you capture great videos from hurricane 🌀 Ida.

Life-long Louisiana man...after seeing it so many times, you know what you're about to face and what you're going to deal with in the end of it. And if you plan on riding it out....when it starts, you don't have time for regrets.
As terrible as this is for all affected, there's something relaxing about seeing mother nature tear up all the order and strictness in the streets. Straight lines being bent or broken, things being torn apart.

I've not personally seen sudh ferocious winds because I always slept through the storms. But I remember well the devastation afterwards. This storm is horrendous. I hope no one is killed.
Reminds me of 08/23/92 in Miami during Hurricane Andrew…except the winds in Andrew were actually about 190mph and not what was initially reported due to Andrew “taking out” the National Hurricane Center. it was my first “real” hurricane and i went from Fort Lauderdale to Miami to be with some sick relatives who were unable to evacuate. I was outside most if the night and the noise was like a freight train in the sky with lots of green lightening. It was very surreal. Some neighborhoods in South Miami had every single home, tree, bush and street sign destroyed. Thank God we get advance warnings of these natural events nowadays.
Why do people "decide" to stay instead of evacuate and then expect others to risk their life to come and get them? If it was a club or concert 1,000 miles away people would find a way to get out of town for it but I still hope everyone gets the help they need.
Wow you're something special. Some don't have the money and means to evacuate and there was hardly any warning. If you don't have something constructive to bring to this topic... please go find a hobby.

That pretty much what made it seem the worse. Everyone was trapped in New Orleans from the flood waters. Which was recently updated before Ida hit us. Katrina was a category 3 when it made landfall. Ida was a category 4 when it hit us along the coast. But, it definitely felt a whole lot stronger. I got a direct hit from this one. We had nearly 200mph winds recorded in my neighborhood. Just got to have faith. Be thankful for what we all still have. The recovery is a very slow progress. We'll come back stronger. Y'all hang in there as well. Wow, this is amazing footage, but I have a question about the creation process. How were you able to capture such great audio and video? I ask because it sounds like the microphone was in the elements, I can hear the rain splattering and the wind ripping, but theres no rain drops on the camera lens. Are you recording in a vehicle with a microphone mounted outside in the storm? That's my guess. But either way, this is an amazing video and thank you for capturing it for us.

Its the gusts of wind during the storm that do the most damage. I saw those gusts of wind that were bringing in the damage that tore up the structures in the city. If it could have just remained sustained wind there probably wouldn't have been as much damage. but those gusts bring the terrible damage.
Why do people build such flimsy stuff in these areas? Those crappy signs made from sheet metal should be outlawed in those areas. and rebuild with more rounded structures that the wind can't grab onto. Just saying I know poor folks are stuck but those that can like commercial properties and power plants etc. should build with these storms in mind.
The remnants of Ida is expected to be serious for the mid atlantic and northeast for tomorrow with a 10 percent of tornadoes flash flooding september 1st 2021.
..or more likely the truck was parked to protect the building a little... An empty tanker looks like being a safer place to shelter than most of the local houses were.
I went through a hurricane around 2008 by myself in a small frame home over on Byron St in Houma. The eye went through Houma then also but nowhere near as powerful as Ida. Houma has the best people there that I’ve ever met…. seriously. This is a horrible thing to watch from Georgia and a hope and pray my ex in-laws in Raceland and Houma made it through ok. These people are tough as they come.
Imagine all the people who lost their homes and their jobs because of the hurricane. Buildings destroyed. Damn. I'm glad I live over here towards the West Coast. It's a nice, sunny, warm day here in Colorado.
That's the future of the human species and 90% of the rest. Loosing your home, your food source, your loved ones, your life. Complete collapse of human civilization comes as early as 2040..2060. Extinction will need some centuries.

In another video I saw ducks
can you post the link>
Maybe the animals are a little more stable than 2 legged upright humans?
I always leave town whenever a bad storm is coming. I never stick around to see how bad it's going to be.
I almost went here for fun. If Brandon can do it anybody can. Do you agree with that? Please answer.
God created the wind, rain he control it all.God is all powerful.
There is no God…only nature
@@flamcity so your saying god isn’t real?

This is hard to watch. I can’t imagine being there. 🙏 for everyone.
This wasnt too bad. Ive seen a lot worse. Keep in mind they will videotape the most damaged buildings. Did you see the Grand Isle video? On my houses the foundations are all that remains.
You would have a death wish to be out in the middle of this the flying debris could kill you especially the metal flying around
If you are in a car parked you should be fine. If you stand outside well.
I know of two separate homes that people were in and the roofs blew off they were just sitting on the side of the bed looks straight up and saw the sky and rain on their face🙏😔
Thanks for sharing. This video is testament to why electric lines should be underground. One or 2 of those shots made me think, "highway spaghetti".
Amazing footage! I assume the vaults in Chase have good waterproofing!
When I evacuated I had never seen so many dead birds. The interstate was covered. It was scary to see
I live in Houma and experienced this first hand will never forget hurricane Ida⚜️
The destruction was just amazing. Destroyed the entire place and the winds were horrible for real. Wow, thanks for sharing
Wow. How did you get such impressive video?
Hey thanks for putting out this footage @Brandon Ivey
Wow, This video is amazing!!! Very courageous!! Poor little birds, they must have lost their home...
Omg I've never seen anything like this I would be so scared I wouldn't know what to do . Praying for everyone
Life-long Louisiana man...after seeing it so many times, you know what you're about to face and what you're going to deal with in the end of it. And if you plan on riding it out....when it starts, you don't have time for regrets.
No sé qué son esas campanadas del 8:30 y alrededores
As terrible as this is for all affected, there's something relaxing about seeing mother nature tear up all the order and strictness in the streets. Straight lines being bent or broken, things being torn apart.
Amazing coverage!!! Heartbreaking to see though 🥺.
To quote a famous comedian: its not that the wind is blowing, it's what the wind is blowing
i grew up going to see family in Houma as much as possible, we were able to go back less than 2 weeks after Katrina , it might be even longer until im allowed back to see it now . is going to be something i bet
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
There was apparently a 172 mph windgust from IDA
Why do people "decide" to stay instead of evacuate and then expect others to risk their life to come and get them? If it was a club or concert 1,000 miles away people would find a way to get out of town for it but I still hope everyone gets the help they need.
Wow you're something special. Some don't have the money and means to evacuate and there was hardly any warning. If you don't have something constructive to bring to this topic... please go find a hobby.
@@ashleyroundtree258 actually a lot of them said voluntarily.
I hear them say they still staying. That no matter what storm
Come, they will never leave.
Living there my whole life ... people are proud they don't wanna say the reality.. some of them didn't want the trouble. Some could've gotten away and would've been flat broke in a day. Prayers for us not judgement.
@@ashleyroundtree258 respect that
My heart goes out to everyone who is affected by this. I also admire their strength and courage. I would drop dead from a heart attack if i were in a situation like this 😧
OMG! i hope all you guys are staying indoors and are safe..... God Bless you all :( xx
That is incredible I couldn’t imagine being in the storm my heart goes out to everyone there🥺🙏🏽
We got slammed here on the bayou as well in Lafourche Parish. It looks like a warzone down here on the coast. But, we're rebuilding. This is home
@@djboy2712 I remember when the tornado hit us here in Ohio and still recovering in some spots hang in there stay safe
@@thomasjones36 Yeap. We're just taking it a day at a time. This was the worst I've ever been through. But, we're alive. Our pets are one of the many reasons we didn't evaluate. They're safe. I've never evacuated for any hurricane. Everyone was talking about Katrina being the worse. Katrina was like a breeze compared to Ida. Katrina was more deadly because of the old levee system. With y'all tornado disaster and hurricane Ida nearly taking us off the map down here. Y'all will make it as well. We've been helping each other as much as possible. All anyone can do is try. Stay safe out there. We're Cajun. Much love and respect to y'all in Ohio

God bless you people from Germany ❤️
Wow 😳 it will take years to rebuild.😳
Best Ida video to date. thanks!
Best ???
Wow, this is amazing footage, but I have a question about the creation process. How were you able to capture such great audio and video? I ask because it sounds like the microphone was in the elements, I can hear the rain splattering and the wind ripping, but theres no rain drops on the camera lens. Are you recording in a vehicle with a microphone mounted outside in the storm? That's my guess.
But either way, this is an amazing video and thank you for capturing it for us.
Thanks reporters, God bless you!
Excellent shots!
This breaks my heart. I worked in Houma and seeing it in this state is so upsetting. I’m saying a prayer for everyone.
Is there any safe place in America? I mean where can we move to avoid the weather?

Louisiana is just too poor to afford concrete and steel structure homes and buildings, the money's just not there
...it was the birds for me 🤗... beautiful storm...after all, she IS a hurricane...♥️
Incredible footage! Amazing.
Bird1: You see Larry ? All this is going to be free real estate after the hurricane, i tell you this humans cant stand this storms.

Was some of this shot by the Southland mall in Houma? I grew up there but don’t remember the palm trees.
Yes
Was there any damage on the Southland Mall?
Is that the only thing you’re concerned about????
@@MarquishaFreeman6043 Not at all, but the majority of this footage was shot in the parking lot of that mall. That mall is a part of Houma just as much as any other building.
How many raindrops do you think was in that storm?
Thank you!
Did you place any cameras in advance? Or did you risk your life?
Its the gusts of wind during the storm that do the most damage. I saw those gusts of wind that were bringing in the damage that tore up the structures in the city. If it could have just remained sustained wind there probably wouldn't have been as much damage. but those gusts bring the terrible damage.
why was that wind able to blow everything else away but those two birds?
Lower to the ground

ok
Amazing footage from the eye of the storm.I feel for everyone who lost something. But great footage storm chaser
Thanks for putting yourself at risk, to film the ferocity of nature. Glad you're ok 👍👌
So freaking intense. Amazing footage
Birds are having a good time they're not worried about about hurricane Ida
the clanging stop-sign clip was surreal.
It was like a Spielberg movie.
That is one very brave cameraman! Amazing!
One word, mate: Greed.
Honey there were iron storage containers the size of 18-wheeler trailers that blew across the highway
@@NexusPhotografiI've also seen conex boxes flying too
Think I'll move that fuel truck to protect it under the awning in front of the station. 1:25
