After only about 2 months of changing to low carb I had to reduce my blood pressure medication. I noticed that I was getting dizzy when getting up off the floor after doing pilates, and also that I was feeling fatigued, no energy. After a few more months i started getting the same symptoms and I had to reduce the BP medication again. I do have my own BP machine so I was able to monitor it myself.

I will add my personal testimony that strict nutritional ketosis combined with 1 teaspoon beet root powder in my 30 oz daily lime water has dropped my normal systolic from 120 to 102 and diastolic from 76 to 68. Those are average values over the last 19 days. So if you are serious about dropping BP get into nutritional ketosis (.5-3 mmol/L) and try some beet root juice every day. While you are at it, do some zone 2 aerobic work for about 5 hours per week and get lots of sleep. There is also evidence that isometrics is excellent for BP reduction.

You bring peace to our home Dr Westman. My kiddo has been low carb since she was little after finding her endocrinologists were giving advice that only made her feel worse in symptoms & lab work. She now is taking over her own care & research. I am always watching opposing views to see if anything new has been found as an issue with lowering carbs in my kiddo. But since she was little when I found low carb to be safe & effective she is finding herself worried with opposing views. Instead of understanding the missing pieces she gets anxious but with your videos explaining HOW these other views are not providing new legitimate evidence showing her diet will cause problems, she finds herself at ease soo much more.
I can’t wait for her to develop a routine of knowing how to identify the difference between data that is being repeated from older studies & data that is being worded to get these healed low-carbers to be scared into going back to the ‘healthy’ and ‘in moderation’ ways that made them sick vs what is actually helpful.
Your channel is a huge part of her understanding of why this has reversed her illness and she now has her own choice in the matter of whether to add other foods back in & she definitely feels her old symptoms coming back within 20 minutes to 4 days if she adds something in that was part of the original problem when she got sick as a child.
Between you & Dr Tony Hampton she will be able to digest data without sending her anxiety through the roof, as most ‘health warnings’ are made to do.

One observation about flax seeds. The doctors said that flax seeds contain a lot of omega 3, which - yes, it is very good for us and anti inflammatory. The problem is that they consider ALA (alpha linoleic acid) as omega 3. Wrong! ALA can convert into bioavailable/usable omega 3( which is in fact DHA and EPA - the stuff that is a big part of your brain). ALA comes from some plant based foods (some nuts and seeds - like flaxseed and chia seeds) while DHA and EPA comes from animal products, specifically fish and fish oil.
What the nutritionist/doctors pushing a vegan propaganda are not telling you is that the conversion rate from ALA to DHA is 0.5-5% and to EPA a bit higher - up to 10%. But the point is that they keep telling you that these seeds are rich in omega 3, but no, they are a PRECURSOR of omega 3 with a very low conversion rate to usable omega 3's.
If you want to consume flax seed, do it for fiber content, not for the imaginary omega 3 that they don't have. Wild caught fatty fish are what you need for omega 3.

I try to use logic to sort out truth from lies. The biggest problem I have with plant based diets is there is not a single essential carbohydrate. There are essential fats and essential proteins, both of which we can get from meat and in the most bioavailable form. So why were we meant to eat plants again? Then also my personal experience, I am healthier in just about every way after doing a meat based keto or even ketovore diet now for 3 1/2 years.

all these youtube videos on diet now gives anyone anxiety , was raw food diets, fruitarians ,vegans now everyone saying carnivor, at the end of the day just eat natural foods nothing processed. i do not agree with this anti plant carnivor diet at all, god didnt invent fire to cook your meat so it dont make you sick , if we where ment to eat meat we could eat it raw but we carnt as it often gives us food poisoning , do we look at a chicken and think yum yum im going to bite its head off and have it for dinner, no but we do with fruit , the worlds gone crazy just avoid junk food and eat a balanced diet imo

A little disappointed in your reply’s Dr Westman. A few things…
One is not differentiating salt and sodium. Also not mentioning salt intake need with keto
The other thing is flax contains ALA doesn’t convert well at all to epa and dha

Off topic but I really need some advice. Three weeks ago I had the latest Covid vaccine booster. 2 days later I had excruciating pain in both wrists. The vaccine appears to have triggered arthritis. My doc suggested over the counter anti inflammatory and Tylenol for the pain. Nothing has helped. Prior to the vaccine I had no sign of arthritis Have you heard of this happening, and is there anything I should do. I go back o the doc on Friday.

ASK your doctor about Claritin 24 hour. I was told to take that for pain, but NOT the Claritin -D

Spike protein. Taurine supplementation raise fagosites that kill the spikes, after a year or so, but why would you do that harm to yourself with the booster. Pray you heart does not get inflamed.

Take nattokinase. It's an enzyme. Your body may be reacting to the spike protein from the vaccine. Bromwelain and NAC can also clear the spike protien. My psoriasis exploded after 2 jabs and a booster.

Why would you take such a toxin? You should have known better as there has been much revealed about how damaging the injections are.
