    Just in case anyone is looking for feedback regarding this awesome trio, I can speak from first-hand experience with the 16mm. Here I figured it would thrive primarily as a great vlogging, and street photography lens, but it is fantastic as a portrait lens too! Generally I reserve that type of praise for the nifty fifty's, and the 85mm lenses, but the 16mm allows me to get nice and close to my subjects. I love that lens and would honestly recommend it as my first choice out of the three.

    I was planning on getting the Canon 32mm f/1.4 EF-M for my M50 (Mark II) but I already made up my mind to get the Sigma 30mm due to the fact that it's way cheaper, has a sleeker look, the images look baetter to me & I love the fact that it comes with the lens hood.

    Sigma also have a lens-mount changing service, so if you change to Sigma+Leica's native L-mount, Sony E-mount or Panasonic/Olympus MFT-mount, you can save money by paying a small amount for the conversion rather than a large amount for new lenses. All three of those mounts have stabilization, too ;)

    I really loved hearing your perspective on these lenses and your uses as well as limitations you found with each focal length. I haven’t used the 30mm because I already had the Canon 32mm but there was one thing I’ve distinctly noticed with my 16mm and 56mm when compared to my 22mm and 32mm - that’s the color rendering. My greens tend to look cooler and there’s more magenta tint to the image. It’s not a distraction by any means, but I do prefer the color from the Canon lenses when tested side-by-side…but they’re still incredible lenses and very welcome to the M-mount.

    • @AMAETV
      @AMAETV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! Thanks for sharing that. I've always wanted to do an even MORE comprehensive review and comparison of all the lenses by both brands- so I will consider color and look out for this whenever I do 😃

    The 16mm is definitely my favorite! There are cheaper alternatives that I would consider for 50mm & 80mm aps-c equivalent focal lengths, but I don’t know of any other alternative for the 16mm lens with an aperture below 2.8

    • @AMAETV
      @AMAETV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Alicia! I found out about your channel because of the TH-cam suggestions and I'M BLOWN AWAY! The way you explain it's absolutely amazing and I love your honesty and knowledge. At the time I own a CANON EOS M50 and I love it. Recently I got a Canon lens 11-22 mm and I'd like to keep adding lenses to my kit (I do daily vlogs+beauty content+life) so I'm hesitating about getting the sigma 30mm or 16 mm. What do you think would work best with my other lenses? I'm not trying to "upgrade" the one that I have, just trying to add one more to my collection and make different shots. Thank you for taking the time for reading this!

      There is a nice app for iPhone called PhotoPills. With that app one can choose camera type, focal length etc and it calculates the Field of View and size at certain distances, as well as depth of focus to see how quickly the background get blurred.

    How does the 15-45mm kit lens compare to these Sigma lenses? 🤔
    I mostly use the 22mm w/ my M50 since it's awesome in low light, but I swap it for the 15-45 when I take my camera anywhere I might need to zoom. I've tried the 11-22mm for versatility, but it's terrible in low light.
    I'm trying to figure out if the 15-45 can get crisp zoom shots and it's just user error, if I should spring for the 30mm Sigma, or if I should upgrade my camera to something better for combo video/photo usage. I love how compact my M50 is, and I was hoping the new M50 Mark II would be my answer, but it seems to offer few improvements. Appreciate any advice you can offer. ♥

    For a canon m50 body will sigma 30 mm will be 48 mm because of 1.6x crop factor( is it only when 4K mode or also in 1080p mode too?). I m confused to choose between 16 mm vs 30 mm fir my m50 as my videos will be makeup tutorials where I want to be appear close enough with a blurry background. Can someone recommend me please? Does the crop factor only applies to 4 k videos or in any resolution?

    Hey Alicia, absolutely love your videos! I was wondering for APsc cameras you have to multiply the crop factor for the aperture as well? For example for the sigma 30mm f1.4, would be the equivalent of a 45mm full frame size, so would the f1.4 change or remain constant at 1.4?
    Thank you so much
