The zipper was the selling point for me. After a few years the surrounding material failed or wore out. I returned it to Filson, they couldn’t fix it so they replaced it free of charge. Can’t beat that.

Love those old FJs. I'm currently in the market for a 100 series (06-07).
And you won't regret that Filson Briefcase. It's a classic.
You use it for 3 years and it still looks brand new.
I take care of my stuff but I don’t baby it. It shows it’s wear a little more in person, but this thing will no doubt last me decades.
Nice review but the the background jazz is mixed too high. I love jazz but it’s still too high.

I wear a 36 suit (probably could go 38 in some cases), and a 34 in the Bedale.

Man, I'm not a huge fan of the Dryden. Visually, it has a lot going on and the build quality doesn't seem to be in keeping with the OG briefcase. Additionally, I'm only seeing it in Cordura, and although I'm a fan of Cordura (I've got a couple Goruck backpacks that are made with it), I just prefer a more natural material for a classic-looking briefcase.

@@benedictullado6030 You won't regret it. The OG will be totally fine on you, size-wise; the only thing you might have to do is create another hole or two in the shoulder strap (which is super easy) so the bag sits comfortable at your hip - The shoulder strap on these is quite long

You think this bag would work out for a college student carrying a laptop, iPad, couple of books, etc?
Given that it’s a single strap, it won’t be as comfortable as a backpack if they load it up like I did in college - textbooks get heavy. BUT they’ll be the coolest student on campus. Worth the pain 😎
