I’ve only had our Sportage for a few months now but I have to disagree with most of what you’ve said, as do the other reviewers I’ve watched. The lane keep assist is awesome and works so much better than you led on. Additionally, the swapping between audio and climate controls is not as big of a deal as you make it. I’ve left it on the climate control and use the steering wheel and touch screen for the rest. It’s a great car!
I had this vehicle for a while. I tried the lane keep assist and immediately turned it off as it is too intrusive for me. The climate control/audio control switching is not intuitive to me as well. I ended up just leaving it on climate control and used my steering wheel to control the audio
I bought a 2023 SX Prestige AWD back when they first came out , back in April - trading in my Kia Stinger GT1 lease for a hefty bargain because we needed the room (they gave me thousands as a trade in on the lease - this market was nuts). I'm totally fine with the basic 2.5L engine. I've had fast cars, I've had slow cars, and to me the power train suits it for the price. Yes, it's not the fastest thing in the world, but the comfort and tech more than makes up for it. Additionally, it's just one more thing not to go wrong. Basic engine + no CVT.
I ordered my SX prestige & I am waiting for it to come in. Overall, how do you like it? Any issues? I am switching from a Buick encore Gx to a Kia, so I feel like it will be similar except for a huge tech & aesthetic upgrade. Super excited!
beautiful car, the hybrid is almost impossible to find right now though. and when you do find one, dealer premium can be 5k or more. unfortunate, really.
$40k for a Korean crossover/compact SUV with an inline 4 making only 187HP and giving you only 26mpg 😵💫 Car prices have become insane. People need to stop financing cars if they want prices to come back to normality. If just everyone refused to get these new cars, manufacturers and dealers would need to bring prices back down. 40k used to be luxury German SUV money just a few years ago.
I own a 2018 Sportage SX and I’m disappointed they didn’t carry over the same power train that’s in mine to the new one. It’s got so much pick up, even for a turbo 4. Love the technology they have been adding in, especially the turn signal cameras on the gauge cluster. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying another Kia. Negative dealer experience and warranty coverage has me running back to a Honda or possibly even a Toyota dealership once this one is paid off.
Tried for MONTHS to get a hybrid version of this. Kia is just yanking our chains when it comes to "Allocating" something. Got a Honda CRV Hybrid allocated and I was given a definitive time line and got everything I wanted on it. It will be here in the next 3 months. I really REALLY like the sportage, but I'm going the boring, safe, and reliable route.
Was comparing between the Sportage and the Tucson, liked the exterior of the Tucson more but interior of Sportage is just beautiful. But still decided to go with the Tucson Limited Hybrid because the Tucson feels more solidly built, has a smoother and more comfortable ride than the Sportage, uses more quality materials inside compared to the Sportage and the sound system sounded better. The Tucson also feels more refined as well and the Hyundai badge carries a bit more value than Kias. I'm very happy with my decision!
If they just used the 1.6 turbo (like the seltos does) and the 2.5 turbo it would be perfect, last gen had a higher output engine for higher trims idk why this one doesn’t
I wish it had a bit more HP. Some folks say to get the hybrid for that but I’ve no need for a hybrid. People sometimes forget that hybrids were created for lower emissions, not better fuel economy, Better MPGs were a byproduct. The better MPGs only occurs in certain conditions, like city driving.
In europe the sportage is a lot smaller car. Usually they use different names, but In this case they use the same name for 2 different cars. EU sportage has completely different interior tho the exterior is similar.
Competitors are obvious in this mainstream compact segment. Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5/CX-50, Subaru Forester/Outback, Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape, Chevy Equinox, Jeep Cherokee, and Volkswagen Tiguan are very popular. It’s hard to say which is *the best* because they all have something they do better than others (well, most of them do anyway), but I would say the 2023 Sportage is in the top 1/3 among all CUVs in the US. CX-5/50 drives better and has a near-luxury interior, but doesn’t have as many cool tech. CR-V’s redesign looks promising, but it’s still stuck with a CVT and has a higher starting MSRP. Tucson is very similar to this Sportage in every way (no surprise, of course) except the styling, so take your pick!
What almost 40,000 for that undepowered engine. You can for little more money get Subaru Outback Wilderness with 260 horsepower 0 to 60 in 6 sec. Or Mazda CX 50 with turbo engine. Kia interior looks great compared to other cars in their price point but they should offer faster engines for that kinda money there.
I got one of these in wolf Gray. Can't until it finally gets here in a couple days. I wanted the hybrid but between availability and mark ups, there's just no way.
I also wanted to buy the hybrid, but the markup was too much, and I ended up buying fuel... Lucky enough to get wolf grey with a red interior which was in the inventory
@@naveenkumarr9010 I forgot I left this comment. After getting most of my paperwork done for a wolf gray SX Prestige the dealership added on about a 10k markup after them boasting about how they were the only dealership that is selling them for MSRP. As soon as my car came off the truck they rushed to put on a shit ton of accessories so that $38k SX Prestige turned into a $48k car. I ended walking out on them over that BS and got a 2023 Mazda CX-50 at MSRP in the highest trim. That was honestly the worst dealership experience I've ever had so idk if I'd ever try to get another KIA again. I'm glad you got yours though! ✊🏾
@@sanya365 I had the same experience! I asked upfront if they marked up the MSRP. @@SuzianaL Hi! Yea I ended up getting a 2023 Mazda CX-50 at the highest trim level for MSRP out the door. It was definitely more than the MSRP for the Sportage but with mark ups in my area for pretty much every sucompact SUV, it was about the same price. But the fact that there were no hidden fees outside of the necessary taxes. The dealership experience was enough for me walk away from Kia. Now I understand why their dealer ratings are so low across America. It really turned me off the brand as a whole even though I like the cars.
Too bad is Kia. That brand in my country Puerto Rico the depreciation is very fast compared to a Honda and Toyota. The number one selling brand than others is Toyota in my country, cuz their relaible and durable.

Why not just use the volume control on steering wheel? IF you want the panel to stay on Media, you can do that and always have the dial as volume. Then just switch over when you need environmental mode.
Looking for a daily driver and only car it's just me and my wife we're a young couple who don't plan on having kids anytime soon and sometimes it snows here sometimes it doesn't. Regardless I'm buying snow tires for the winter. I'm looking at the Mazda 3, MX-5 rf GT, or Hyundai Sonata?
If it’s your only car I’d go for something practical and sporty, which the Mazda 3 fits perfectly, it’s got the space in the trunk, extra seats if you need them, and there’s 3 different engines in the whole lineup, the 2.0 (about 150hp) which has been developed and put in previous models for so long it’s 100% reliable, same with the next engine the 2.5 (about 185 hp). If you want a manual, you can get one for the 2.0 or 2.5. Now if you’re really looking for something even quicker there top of the line model has the optional 2.5 turbo with 250 hp and 320 torque (awd and automatic, also goes 0-60 in 6.4 sec). definitely would recommend any Mazda 3
I'd say go used and think about a 987 Cayman or a 981 Cayman. There are some great deals to be had for MX-5/GR86/BRZ money. The Mazda 3 looks gorgeous but the back seats are essentially not useable if your passengers are 5'10 and above. Anyone 5'7 to 5'9 will be very cramped in them and the honest truth is no one needs much storage space anymore since everything can be delivered to your home. If you plan to do a lot of camping/off-roading/adventuring look at a used FJ Cruiser or an LX470/GX470 and if you want a sporty car look at the Porsches and the GR86/BRZ!
