That self clean cycle gets more hot than a sanitizer cycle if your washer has one and it also runs more aggressively! Lol Just like in cooking, temperature kills bacteria/cleans.
Always use tub clean/ self clean with washer cleaning products. If your machine doesn't have that cycle, use the longest, hottest wash available. Quick wash won't do as good a job.
Agreed….but have you ever had a Samsung Front Loader? The Tub Clean Cycle is 3 Hrs 51 Minutes long. I typically run it twice a month, great to start at work though.
I use Clean washer cycle on my machine. Idk if the quick wash can clean the tub that quick :/ If it has a self clean cycle on your machine, then adjust it and get it going and see how this works.

I think every washing machine has 'tub clean button' You need to press that button because the usual wash does not fill the tub full (usual wash water level not full enough) After the tub is full, let the tub soak overnight Clean that tub tomorrow & press that 'tub clean' button after that And just let the wash clean like usual Usually the 'tub clean' button wash your machine drum for 90mins

If the cycle runs to quickly, it is suggested to use the self cleaning option, which generally lasts between 3-4 hours depending on the washing machine manufacturer. The tied with oxy I love I also use, but one thing I would suggest is running the SELF CLEAN cycle.
Be careful using the hot water cycle when there's that much water in the tub and only water. The pump doesn't like that much heat for that long. Hot water in a washing cycle is not as big a deal because the clothing takes up a lot of the space.

I have an LG top load and I use the bulky cycle (has the most water 💧)on hot with 2x rinses. Then I use the regular tub clean cycle. It works!!! 🧼

Personally I’m just put a tiny bit of fabric sanitizer and put it on the self clean cycle
Liquid fabric softener will deodorize but encourages waxy buildup that harbours bacteria.
