Someone else may have said this already, but you can get smart bulbs with a remote. You would just leave the light switch on and use the remote to turn on and off the bulb. That way you can actually turn on your light from the bedroom. :)

When I had to relocate after retirement to a new location and a house that needed a lot of work, and was the first time I had lived alone since the ‘70’s , my daughter(from another state) visited and painted ONE wall and helped me setup a bookcase wall. I set up all my loved one’s photos, my books, treasures, etc. so I had ONE space to sit and feel like home during the arduous, emotional unpacking and settling in! It made such a difference!

The arched window in your bedroom is so pretty! I would leave it as is too! The battery operated lights are so cute. I have a spoiled dachshund and she is allowed on the bed too. She sleeps with us every night. Dog hair is a super small thing compared to the huge love they give us. I’m glad you have your fur babies. ❤

Put smart bulbs in the overhead lights and then you can activate them by voice! Also, when you are moving something heavy and you don't have moving slides, cardboard under each foot will do the same thing (for next time).
Im sure everyone has mentioned it but you can switch the light bulbs out for rechargeable ones. I bought some from Amazon and you just control it with the remote it comes with.

I have a few of the rechargeable lights and they die off fairly fast if one uses them all the time. There are however some smart bulbs that come with a remote control. You could use this for your main light, since you have the light switch downstairs, and you could leave it on all night and just use the remote to turn it off from bed.

The bedroom is coming out nicely. I love the window by your steps. I wouldn't do anything to it. I love when there is natural light coming in and when the sun in the morning hits you and wakes you up.🌞 It is a much gentler and nicer way to wake up vs the alarm clock. My dogs ( when I had them) and my friemds dogs when I watch them are always allowed on my bed and furnitures!!😅🐾

I have a window in my house that the Sun beats on all day and the best choice I made was to tint it! It has helped so much! If I'm not mistaken it's called heat blocking privacy window film or something along those lines.. And then I got a white black out roller shade (instead of blinds)which it's mostly hidden by my curtains.. I typically only use it during the day. I live in Florida so anything helps keeping the heat out! If you happen to see this, i wanted to ask you if you ever thought of putting your bed on the long wall or would it not work? Would your head hit the ceiling? I just feel like your room is so big if somehow you were able to put the bed on the wall where you put the dresser, Like Center with your closet, you could do like a little seating area up there. Unless your room looks bigger on camera than it actually is! Also some food for thought, I don't know the condition of your upstairs bathroom but if it's not going to be done for quite some time, you could always get some sort of storage cabinet to put in there and use it for storage for now.. or turn it into a closet 😏 i love your content. Im 35, and recently divorced.. so i know exactly how you're feeling ❤ keep your head up girl.. you're doing amazing ❤

Instead of curtains at your closet..have you considered barn doors? They can be easily cut. That would look awesome. Curtains are tacky and a mess to move out of the way trying to get to you clothes. Just an idea. Best wishes

Instead of curtains at your closet..have you considered barn doors? They can be easily cut. That would look awesome. Curtains are tacky and a mess to move out of the way trying to get to you clothes. Just an idea. Best wishes

In your bedroom you could get light bulbs that are controlled by Alexa for your ceiling light. Then you could have Alexa turn them on and off when you are up in your bedroom.
