I want to hear that Thai girl (wife) with an Irish accent. Never heard that one before. Have you done a full-one 40-minute video with her yet? Even her background story and Thai home life would be interesting. Where, what, when, and how. How did she find Ireland? (Turn right at Greenland?) Thanks and best wishes to all.
Ages ago I was at khao san road. An old western guy came up to me and started giving me compliments. He looked as if he just got back from India. Oh you are so smart he said to me etc. then he asked for money. I was direct with him and said " are you just a beggar now? Giving out fake compliments'. Then walked off. It's my only experience of dodgy things in Thailand
I’m a long time subscriber of Chris and his content is so exciting. I’m glad he mentioned he was coming on this channel so now I have 2 favorite TH-camrs to follow 🎉
I worked in Hawaii for nearly a decade in tourism... Seeing injury and death is the norm when you've worked that long. I saw someone get a fatal injury like less than 50 ft away, but it would be a mistake to avoid all ocean activities in Hawaii simply because once in a while accidents happen, or sometimes it's not even an accident someone just has a heart attack or something.
Hi Pete. Great conversation. You both work well together. I think it would make a good regular show kinda of like Tim Newton’s - Grumpy Old Men. Do an hour or so of weekly topics. I was laughing out loud by myself a few times. 👍
Another audience-engaging rave Pete!!!! Re safety…….. Been living in Chiang Mai for over 5 years, been riding motorbikes for 50+ years, trust me, riding bikes here, sooner or later you are going to come un-glued....... I’ve been cleaned up twice here in serious bike accidents, both times just tootling along and got wiped off the road. The first time, by an unlicensed dead-drunk speeding scooter rider and the second, a falung “riding” an unregistered bike BEYOND his abilities, and, he was completely off his face on whatever he was snorting, hey man!!! BUT, a lesson I learned, the hard way, in my pre-teens on mini-bikes, NEVER RIDE WITHOUT PROTECTION, in both ""accidents"" here in CM, I hit the tarmac, rolled numerous times, got up with sore ribs, shoulders, hips and a split-second WTF just happened headspace, BUT ALL MY SKIN IN TACT, ‘cause I ALWAYS wear boots, jeans, jacket, gloves ‘n FULL FACE HELMET,.......... I shudder when I see people riding in shorts and thongs, no shirt or helmet......... deadset, you go down wearing thongs and shorts you are going to have months of PAINFUL RECOVERY, that is if you still have feet left.......... for what it’s worth readers, JUST DONT RIDE WITHOUT PROTECTION, ‘scuse the pun again, IF YOU LIKE YOUR BODY/SKIN THE WAY IT IS........... Kudo’s again Pete, your rave with Chris was like sitting in the lounge room hanging out with a best mate. Your video’s now have a real sense of maturity, informed by laid back integrity and commonsense. A pleasure to watch……………………..
I’m an experienced rider and ride well at a decent clip in the mountain twisties back home on my Z900. Never had an issue in the Kingdom on a bike, from riding all over Phuket, to the Mae Hong Son loop on a 500 and right up into the Golden Triangle. You have to be hyper vigilant as to the traffic around you, and never let your guard down. It’s just too hot to wear full gear in Thailand like I do at home, but next trip will definitely bring my riding pants. I wear runners and never thongs on a bike. Always look in your mirrors and know what’s behind you as well as what’s in front of you. But no doubt shit can happen when you least expect it … 😎
Trying to connect dots here...but maybe the massive amount of black smoke coming out of that long tailed boat @ 45:00 contributed to the air pollution issues? 😂Chris' description of caking dust on that car under the bridge was spot on!

Good morning from Thailand. If you're returning here post 2021 you'll find a country that's changing all of the time but for me the 'vibe & buzz' of energy has gone. It's a sad place too often and even the scams are old.My advice to anyone coming to Thailand is to go to Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia or even Laos instead.

Good video. A quick question - you had done an interview with an American couple from New York. In the description you had the Whatsapp number for the agent they had used for their visa. I can't find the video, could you report the contact information for the visa agent? Thanks. Alex
@@ThairishTimes They were living in Asok and rented a $3k/mo condo, total monthly expenditures of $10k to $12k. Did half their time in the US and half in Thailand. I think everything you do in Thailand, as a visitor, should be considered "at your own risk." You just have to know that the regulations surrounding safety and liability are different - and that's okay. It isn't your home country. After being on speedboat tours, climbing around temples, walking in parks/forests, elephant sanctuaries, bar-hopping, navigating streets (even as a motorcycle rider in the West), or even just walking on the streets, or swimming in the ocean, it is clear you just have to have common sense.
Don't ever start a business in Thailand and what career can you get in Thailand ? If your in love with having careers then just stay in North America and Western Europe or Australia where career is everything in your life otherwise why come to Thailand to replicate the soul crushing life you had back home ? Palm oil. In everything. Mercury in the fish (nobody tests any of the fish, whether from the polluted klong or not). Thai farm-raised shrimp = heavily medicated. DDT still in use on the vegetables and nobody tests it.
