Great interview! When I put it together with the interviews with the other actors, it gives me a much clearer picture of what went into this movie. Thank you!

traepischke , A challenging fete adapted from the outline. Must admire writer/ director whose moral instincts poured his all into bringing these hidden figures into light. In an age where fewer people read, it was an excellent choice to deliver on screen.

Costner at 38:15 - makes a really good point...

No blacks in the panel. Interesting.

noticed that - still good talk though (so far)... would have been good to have one of the black cast members as well... maybe octavia...

In a way I do agree with you. But the panel all agree that one of the highlights of the film is when Ocativa tells Kirsten Dunst that she is a/behave racist even if she does not understand itself. I think the same happens when UCTV do not include a black person in the panel. It's very easy to say that I exaggerate, but in fact I think I have a fair point.

You could be right but, to me, there's just not enough information for me to make that call... maybe the black actors were asked but couldn't make it... i don't know... i was thinking maybe they could get the original author but the screenplay is so different from the book it would have not been all that useful for the script to screen format... i agree, i did notice it, and would have liked an explanation but barring that I am not going to jump to a conclusion either way, other than saying... hmm.. that's strange...

Agree that it can be good reasons/excuses why there are no black people in the panel. But with this type of film, no Denzel Washington or Will Smith characters, it's even more important to have different voices.

If you google each of their names you will see that Octavia, Taraji, Janelle and Pharrell have done lots of PR for the movie.
