The HH I stayed at was non-profit farm, Thimbleberry, outside Portland, Ore. they had me park under bird-filled trees near the garden. I was invited to pick lettuce and radishes and I had a view of Mt. Hood! Too bad it was too early to pick the berries! Delightful! No elect. or hookups; which is typical for HHosts. $30, a little steep.
David, I love this video for multiple reasons. I have been considering Harvest Host membership. There are so many options. Secondly, you have a renewed excitement about RVing in your new camper. It beats car camping any day. Great choice. Have a great camping season!!!
Thank you for sharing your Harvest Host experience. A lot of interesting places are off the beaten path. I hope everyone has an awesome holiday. Remember. Pinkies up. 😉
Our first Harvest Host was at a farm (not the cranberry one) in Long Beach. They have goats. They did a milking demo and Joyce got to hold a baby goat, it was so much fun! Sadly we couldn't visit the chickens due to Avian Flu. They also offer water and power hook up if you need it. The view from the farm was beautiful too. They held a meet and greet in the evening. We passed on that, but I'm sure the other folks that were there enjoyed it.
Hey Jedeye! I just joined Harvest Hosts last week. You nailed it about supporting local businesses while having a place to park/ boondock overnight while on the road. I've got a trip planned this week. Plan to cover about 1000 miles or so. And along with a stop at Buc-ee's, I hope to experience a couple of HH breweries during my travels to visit family and friends. Thanks for sharing a nice adventure to Woodinville, WA. Take care!
We also enjoy Harvest Hosts. We are staying at several farms, a winery and a brewery on our current trip. We were able to set up right next to a lake at the winery. It was quite pretty.
I'm writing this while I'm staying at a HH location in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. It's a microbrewery about 8 miles from town. Food is great! I've been a HH member for some time & they've never disappointed. Hosts are always great.
Thanks for the video. This is really close to where we stay when visiting the area, so I’ll be sure to look up LongCellars when we are there this summer. Great to see you trying different camping experiences!
I am really confused about this winery-they buy the grapes then make their wine? I hate where they had you park, so wrong. Most Harvest Hosts are harvesting their own grapes/apples or whatever they grow and you park in a vineyard or at least looking out at it. I hope your next one is much better scenery. You always have a great attitude.
Way to get out there and explore something new! I wasn't sure what to think when you pulled into the "Industrial Area Parking Lot". When you mentioned your first "Harvest Host" and that you were headed to a Winery, I pictured acres of grape vines and open field. While Long Cellars seemed like a very neat establishment to experience, I'll have to read the reviews on the Harvest Host before showing up and being caught off guard. I, too, was worried that you would get "The Knock" and feel "Exposed". I'm glad your overall experience was a good one, but I'm not sure I would have been able to relax enough to sleep in that location. Great Review, and thanks for taking us with you! ~Big C in the DP 📢 ::: Air Horn 📢 ::: ::: Air Brakes! ::: 🚌🚌🚌
HH seems like a great investment here in Nor Cal since there aren't a lot of other good campground options for RVs around the extended Bay Area. I spotted a Travato in the wild while buying pet food today and wanted to ask the owner about his experience but didn't want to be that lunatic 😂
Hey there, Great videos as always. I received a HH gift for my retirement as they knew we are geaded ror full time RVing. At the HH wine shop that you went to o, did you just donate or did you vuy a bottle or two of their wine? Keep enjoying!
...ya see....you get a new rig and now I feel under dressed watching your video in a sleeveless tee shirt 🤨 Apple wines were big in Virginia... have you tried any of those?
The Harvest Host program is, in my opinion, an RV’s best friend.
Well I definitely can see that🤓

Sweet😊 Looking forward to discovering some more things like that😁

Thanks😊 Now car camping does have its place, but I agree, really digging this 😊

Looking forward to discovering more for sure 😁

Can’t wait to try a cool farm👍🏿
You know you're a city boy when you're "camping" in suburbia LOL 😁
First time out for Harvest Hosts… will head out more in the months to come🥂

You got it! I can’t wait to stretch out and try more spots🥂

Some of the spots look interesting. Some pretty cool farms out there too😁
It's cool that you're exploring your home state. There are always new businesses to explore and old ones we didn't know existed! Cheers!
Thanks… love getting out there for sure 😊
When I was RVing back in the day (the 90’s), there were no Harvest Host locations…now they seem to be everywhere! Great video buddy 👍🏼👏🏼🖖🏼
Nice! Want to try a lot more spots coming up for sure😁
We love HH
Stayed at many across the west. Most were great, a few were less than ideal.
Looking forward to checking out many more 👍🏿

That’s sweet! I have to try more of them😊
What a great concept. Drink - camp - don't drive - sleep it off - then go home.
100% is a great idea 😁
Thanks for the video. This is really close to where we stay when visiting the area, so I’ll be sure to look up LongCellars when we are there this summer. Great to see you trying different camping experiences!
Cool! It was a fun first try😊
We're going to try that sometime soon. Being able to stay over before you have to drive takes the worry out of sampling multiple wines.
Oh 100% being able to stay put is great 😁

I’m sure there are more unique spots. This industrial area has close to 50 tasting rooms all in the same area 😊
Thanks for sharing. Be safe.
Always, thanks for following along 🤗
I chose an Alpaca farm by Salem, Oregon for my first HH stay. Memorable!
Sounds like cools spots, did you have fun?😊

It’s just the first of many I hope to explore over the next year, so a good start 😊
Nice video. Not much for town camping but the winery looked like it was enjoyable.
Thank you for sharing. Safe travels.
Thanks. First time so I choose someplace close, can’t wait to go to a winery that’s different next time🥂
Nice video, interview and business owners.
Thanks. Jason was cool😊
Love the music!
Thank you😁
Enjoyed the video…. Safe travels 🎉🎉
Why thank you very much 😊

I love talking about mine and a couple of folks have asked and I’ve given them a tour while I was stopped at a Fred Meyer’s… never be afraid to ask😁
💙🦋💙
🤗
you have a great rv
Thanks, I’m really enjoying it 😁

Oh I spent on wine and went way over the $30 minimum 😂🍾🥂
@@RVJedeye OMG! Please forgive my typos! Thank you for your response.

Apple wines were big in Virginia...
have you tried any of those?
lol have not tried them, but sounds delicious 🍾
That wouldn’t fly with me… moving once I got settled.
Well in all fairness, you once I got there and they told me where to park, they didn’t ask me to move again so it worked out😁🍾🥂
