Yeah, that's pretty standard practice. Most bands will record a live "scratch" take just to help as a guide, but then rerecord the vocals on their own. On Pinkerton (or at least most of the songs I believe) they all three crowded around three mics and sang the parts together at once to try to enhance the live feel, which I think is one of the many decisions that helped the feel of this album. It really does feel pretty raw and noisy and not overproduced or polished. But without sacrificing the performances. They struck a nice balance.
You'll get it. It was like Chinese to me- granted I still need to get better at doing it outside of El scorcho, but the song was a good introduction to (partly) keeping time with the left foot. I can't remember what got me to do it, but I think it'll help to ignore the floor tom for a second, and get used to doing Kick, hat, snare, hat, kick, hat, snare, hat, kick, hat, snare, hat, just keep doing it over and over again til it pisses you off lol, and gradually try bringing the right hand floor tom into it.
The intro part makes it so easy to use each drum as a sample. Thank you so much for posting this

Just isolated tracks from the video game rock band. These are the original pinkerton tracks, the only way to get them is rockband or guitar hero.
