That kind of strong flavoured Asian mushrooms with maybe tofu and a touch of agar to simulate the gelatin in soup dumplings would make a delicious vegan dumpling. I picked up a bag after seeing this video and have finally had occasion to try these dumplings. I consider myself a fan of Xiao Long Bao - I've had quite a few of them from various restaurants after being introduced to them by a co-worker. I was always frustrated I couldn't get them or make them at home. (My wife isn't a fan.)
These are tied for the best I've tasted. As they're frozen, I can make as many as I want, when I want.
If you have the money and the freezer space, buy some. They are absolutely worth the money. My wife also enjoyed playing with the dry ice they're shipped with. :)
