Listening to the rep in the cab was INCREDIBLE. he knew his stuff inside and out. Loved the description of the tracks and how they want to pivot up to get out of the mud unlike competitors . Very very impressed with his knowledge.
Nice video! I think it's interesting, to me anyway, about how things have changed since I was a kid (I'm 76)... When I first picked corn I used a New Idea 2 row and conveyed the ears in a trailing wagon... Use to open fields with a team of mules and a old wagon on wooden wheels... The corn was all stored on the farm in either wood cribs or round wire ones... Fed to hogs as ear corn and taken to the mill to grind corncob meal, unless you had your own grinder... I would use an old hand crank , cast iron sheller if I needed just the kernels only... Loaded the sheller one ear at a time... But ya didn't need anything big back in the day... a man could make a pretty livin' on a hundred acre farm for him and his family... I never saw a combine run corn till 1982... Just curious...how many acres of corn do they have and is it all hauled to the mill or do they store some on site... and how many bushels do they anticipate?
I'm just a handful of years behind you and what you described is exactly my experience as well. However I did operate combines in the 70's when I went to work for a custom farm operator.
So cool to see all of that CLAAS Lexion and Agco Challenge tractor power. The shot at the end of the video with the CLAAS Lexion combine, White tractor, and gravity cart was a real treat to see. I bet that tractor was having to go really fast to try and keep up with the output of that CLAAS Lexion combine.
That’s one of the best videos I’ve seen, the opening few seconds would make a perfect picture for a calendar. There’s not a domestic made combine that can run with them. The new John Deere will be close but damn that’s impressive, thanks Jason.😎
I don't know, I've heard that the X9 was having a lot of teething problems when they started running demo units. Mike Mitchell was supposed to get one for a demo, but Deere pulled the plug on that. I don't think the X9 will have a chance against the Fendt 9t or the Class 8900.
@@DeathHead1358 The X9 is spec'd to be able to handle 7000 bu/hr in corn. So in theory it should be able to crush the performance we see in this video. Don't know if it'll actually do it. Haven't read anything about the Claas 8900 capacity in bu/hr in corn.
NH 10:90 has record for wheat and has been the case for several years. I always understood they are made in Nebraska, That record is official too through Guiness book of records. There doesn't appear to be anything official for corn.

Always loved those big CLAAS combines in corn. Wish I was riding in those with those big 16 row heads and watching the corn pour into the bin. Ever since I was a kid I've always loved watching corn or any other crop going into the bin. The more product going in the better it looks. lol
I would like to see the header trailers for the 16 row corn header & also trailer for a large drapper header . I know of a large farmer here in Kansas that has a 40 foot drapper header for wheat & soybeans but I've never seen it . Thank you for your great videos , they are very informative to me as I use to harvest before they had any computers , I had to combine the old fashioned way Thanks again
That’s how they run. They had two different varieties so each combine was harvesting a variety. Toward the end you can see them running past me on both sides. It’s neat to see.
Awesome video Jason!!👍👍We use 2 New Holland CR8.90's on tracks, 2 Challenger MT865E's & 2 Kinze grain carts a 1300 & 1305 on tracks. Close to what you videoed here. We start soybeans in about 2 weeks or so? GO BTP💪💪

Man some serious grain being harvested here, in a short period of time
My farm uses a lexion 585R, a cat challenger mt765, kinze tracked grain cart, 12 row corn head, a 40ft Draper header.
Very nice. This farm had a 595R a few years ago. Good combines.
Wow, there's alot of corn going into those combines.
I don't think an 8" auger out of a bin would fill the hoppers as fast as the combine does.
They move a bunch of grain in a hurry.
Yup, 5,000 bushel an hour would beat our 8 inch bin augers. Our 8 inch bin augers do about 2400 bushel an hour.
Some really good footage there, including overheads and land finishes. Great work. 👍

How big was this feild?
Hello Mr. excitement
Was it the Contour of the ground or did that auger sag about 2 feet when he started to unload ?
I had not noticed any auger issues. I will have to look closer.

Most farms are 50% done with corn now. I hope your harvest goes well
When is the next Live?
Good question. It depends on when I can get some free time in the field. It may be during tillage.
If headers get much bigger the combines are going to need unloading augers on both sides and not just the left!
USDA predicted record yields for KY, looks like you're getting it.
Best corn crop any has ever seen. Just the right amount of rain each week this year.

Deere may have spent alot of money with the X9 but I think the Claas still has more capacity on the new larger machines.
Class 780TT holds 385 bu and the Deere X9 1100 holds 460 bu according to Claas and Deere.

How long have other companies been using twin rotors like John Deere is using on their new X9?
Great video..... but they seem to spend a LOT of time unloading in the stationary position...
They were harvesting two varieties on test plots side by side. They were cleaning out the tanks at the end.
Is claas still making combines today?
Yes indeed. Right after I filmed these 760s. I filmed a new 2020 Claas 8600 that rolled out of the factory two days ago.
What you taking claas or Fendt? I really like the claas (after axial flows)😃
Claas is a very good combine. I have not had a chance to ride in a Fendt yet. I hope to soon. Axial-Flows are good machines.
Seems like they could use a third grain cart
It would not hurt to have an extra one.
Sending a semi-load every 6 minutes... wow.

I would imagine a X9 1100 could handle a 18 row head, if they existed.
BTP has a video of a Caseih 9250 with a 24 row in 200bu corn going like a bat out of hell so the X9 has some stiff competition.
There is an 18-row 30 inch corn head on the market somewhere. Can’t recall who makes it.
The Case mentioned was running a 24-row 20 inch row set-up.
Geringhof makes an 18 30" head.
