It was the year that IROC starting inviting champions from the lower NASCAR Busch Series, Starting with Johnny Benson. Frank Kimmel was the only ARCA driver to be invited into IROC. Ted Musgrave represented the Truck series
I always felt they should have had road course races and even dirt so that each driver would be tested at the disciplines of their fellow drivers as a true test of who was the best overall driver. Kyle Larson would be a modern day IROC master
These drivers are asleep on the restart after yellow. If I was a crew chief I would be pissed. I see it all the time. Restarts are to critical to be lagging back.
Why? They said on the broadcast that IROC changed the rule to allow drivers to change tires under caution. So what was the problem? Did the guys up front not know that they could pit? Seems pretty clear to me.
All the info they gave during the broadcast about the development of the new car is super interesting. Maybe NASCAR can take some notes lol.
