Thank you, I appreciate your comment. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September and we made the painful decision to sell our herd. We felt it best to remove any stress and physical labor to aide in my recovery. Thank you again for watching our channel. 🥰 Josie

Absolutely stunning kids from Candy, she did so well. I’m glad she calmed down, I was a little worried like you when she was being so erratic. I think you did the right thing keeping the kids in the next stall while she was delivering. You’re a great goat mum, your goats are in absolutely beautiful condition and your stalls are spotless.

Thank you for all the nice feedback, I really appreciate it. And yes, Kandi was definitely wound up! She’s turned out to be a great mama though, so I’m thankful for that. We work really hard to keep the place clean and that’s one of the reasons I use so many puppy pads. It helps to remove the birthing fluids, especially concerning fly control. No, Jim and I have never shown our goats. If I was younger, I would absolutely love to do that but we can barely keep up with just day to day care of our herd. Jim is almost 70 and I’m not too far behind him. I wish we had started sooner in life. Thanks again and have a great week!
Oh my goodness!!!! Four gorgeous babies!!! I and I is such a sweet mama, she was so nervous and who can blame her!!??😂 I remember my first delivery as a new mother and I can't image that happening and not knowing why!!😂😆 Instinct is such an amazing thing!!! How many mountain people do it take to milk the goat? Five- one to hold the beeshees and four to raise the goat up and down! LOL! Ok ok I actually just heard that on Taxi S2 Ep17 (old 70s sitcom) and Latka tells that joke in front of Simka who, unbeknownst to him, is a mountain person. What I want to know is what are beeshees? 😊

I'd be overwhelmed with 4 babies too!! WOW. She shot the first 2 out like rockets😂. I'm so glad you were there to help her out with the last 2. Who knows what would have happened had you not been there. I was in labor for 47 hours with my only son. Glad when it was over.The kids are so cute. I love the black boots!!! Wish I could talk my husband into letting me get a goat. They are a big responsibility. We just retired and are looking forward to traveling some. We don't want to worry about pets. If only I were younger 😂 Great job finding all those kids homes. It was hard enough finding homes for stray kittens I took in one year. Josie and Jim, thank you so much. Candy did great. ❤
Thank you so much! I couldn’t believe the way Kandi delivered her first two. I wish I would’ve had the camera positioned to show the second kid being born. No kidding - she shot out like a torpedo and bounced off the wall! It was crazy, lol! I know what you mean about wanting to travel and not having the responsibility of animals. Jim and I have this discussion quite frequently. We absolutely adore our goats and I would miss them horribly, but I do wish we could get away sometimes. But that’s the life of a goat farmer! How can so many babies fit in there? 🤣🤣 Glad you were able to help with the 2 babies. Can you imagine having 4 . I was happy Jim took the kids out of the pen for a bit so Kandi could relax a little. We sure found out why. Our 44th anniversary is coming up. I might have been able to talk my husband into getting goats years ago, we're too old now. Don't wait too long to enjoy some time off. Farms are work and you deserve a break if just for a day 😊 Thanks again Josie and Jim ❤️

how many babies can a mamma feed? I guess you would have to feed her heavliy so she could produce enough milk
We’ve had several moms that fed 4 babies with no problem. I weigh the kids to make sure they’re gaining weight and thriving. We feed alfalfa and quality goat ration, which helps with milk production.

I never did measure. I just made it the color of dark tea. It doesn't take a lot. Start off with the tablespoon and go from there.

Hi, and thanks for the question. Cou Clair is a specific color pattern on Nigerian Dwarf goats. If you watch Charo’s kidding video from March you will see her buckling Jax. He is the lighter version of Cou Clair known as Cou Blanc. It’s a beautiful color pattern and I really love it. Hope this helps 🥰

Two days ago, I noticed two blood spots on my goat's vulva. She's in her fourth month of pregnancy, but yesterday and today there's been nothing. Her fetus is still inside her, so she hasn't lost it. Is this something serious? Please respond. Additionally, her udder is still small, and there's only a little time left before her due date.😢
I’m not comfortable giving that kind of advice. I would contact your vet if you’re concerned. Definitely keep an eye on her. Hopefully all is well. Good luck and best wishes for a smooth kidding.
