Great video. I grew up (at least physically lol) in the 80s, really basic sims, no Internet and obviously no youtube for reference. It's such a privilege to have real fast jet, airline pilots giving us this amazing insight. Something I could only dream of growing up. Thankyou so much for taking the time to do this Chris, it's endlessly fascinating to me. Thankyou!

When I was deployed to Kuwait during Operation Desert Thunder, we were at Ali Al Salam Airbase north of Kuwait City, there was a wing of Tornados based there as well. While I am a helicopter guy through and though, I can't state enough how cool it was to be up on The Hill looking down at the airfield, and watching your Tornados turn money into noise on a daily basis. This was around the same time as the 80th Anniversary of the RAF so we got our own little airshow from you guys. It was a sight to behold to see that many Tornados that low to the ground. Impressive stuff.

I was born in 1990 and every Airshow that I attended, The Tornado was my absolute favourite! To me and my family, she was the LOUDEST thing in the sky, every pass she would tear the very fabric of the air!
Thankyou to the Tornado and her Pilots for inspiring me as a child! I miss the days of seeing that bird in the sky, her shape.. her speed.. her sheer power and dominance of the sky!
    Thankyou!
And if I could tell my younger self that one day, an Actual Tornado Pilot would eventually read the words he would write.. 🤯
    Thankyou cgaviator!
You have every right to be immensely proud that you got to fly the Tornado!

That is so kind of you to say! Reading the fabric of the sky is exactly how I remember hearing it as a kid, before I got chance to fly it! It’s such a shame that she doesn’t fly in the UK anymore.

Always a joy to see how it's done. I worked in a photograpers in Edinburgh in the late 80's and we used to do lots of work for Ferranti's. I don't know how many photos of radar equipment we took and promo shots of Tornado's I printed in that time but it was substantial. Still love how it looks.

Loving the videos Chris, really enjoyable and informative! I purchased the Tornado and it has been a blast, dream as a child (like so many) was to become an RAF pilot after spending summers in Newquay every year, beside St Mawgan AB and seeing all the activity!
Been doing a lot of waypoint flying and the loops which has been great fun.
Was wondering if you would ever consider doing a video as if carrying out a training/ mission? Simulating a run, how you would prepare, a flight plan, a runway as a target and managing to fly low level in "hostile" territory?
You can tell I'm reading the book "Tornado" just now! ha

Forgot to watch this one for some reason! model looks excellent, sounds pretty good! appreciate this was a pre-release but the flight dynamics looked ok at higher speeds ( still seem to have a bit of that "tight" feel a lot of msfs aircraft have ) but rather pitchy & a bit over-reactive at low speed - actually a bit pitchy at any speed, the nose seemed to snap into position. Probably not enough for anyone to care but someone like me who has kinematics & visualisations wired into parts of my brain they shouldn't be... I could count on one hand how many msfs aircraft don't feel like that.
Going to enjoy watching you mission plan something in this later on, throwbacks to DI Tornado from the 90s :) I expect you're a bit young to have been one of the Tonka crews who regularily tried to break windows in the town I grew up in every day but you never know.
