Man this channel put me in the game; I remember this time last year I was skeptical, working as an independent contractor. Best decision I’ve made in my adult life! Thanks Trent! You got me through some tough times
No degree. Complete fuck up. Nearly flunked high school. Suicidal. Working dead end jobs all my 20s until one day a manager told me "you should be in sales". 10 years later, after a lot of hard work, I finally achieve my goal. I move from commission only sales to account manager to SDR. I finally got a job as SDR manager last year. I'm on track to make 200K this year, but I'm moving to an account executive job next month. Sales saved my life.
You are already an enterprise AE in my mind - the best and building your army of other top performers. Commercial AE is my aspiration and I'm okay with that. I think realistically, that is as high as I'll be able to go, so I'm aiming for that and you're helping me achieve it 🤗. Proud of you!
Interesting! It's very important to keep clients happy and stay with you business in the long time, which this position need to understand and remember each of client details.
@@TrentDressel do you recommend I go for AE roles or should I start with SDR roles. I have sales experience mostly inside sales. I am a fast learner and willing to take risk
I love these videos, extremely valuable. I’m an AE for T-Mobile, just started and my growth has been great! Although, I feel like there’s so much more to go. Do you offer coaching?
@@TrentDressel absolutely! I start my first BDR position on the 25th and your videos have replaced a meal in my day lol. I hope you see you help a ton of people with your drive
Great video! I’m an Enterprise AE in Telecom industry and agree with everything you said. I see lots of books on that shelf. Any books you recommend to improve required skills?
MBB consulting you get 110k base 140-150k tc out of undergrad and 190k base 250k tc out of mba but yes probably work 60 hours a week. Partners make 1million+ and can be obtained with 8-10 years experience. There are people who are in their 20’s making 1million+. Im still in undergrad and I’m interning at SAP in business development. I’m considering either getting deferred admissions to a t7 mba program to pivot into MBB or continuing my career at SAP and apply for their Sales Academy. After the 9 month rotational program I should hit account executive. I’m not 100% sure what I will do but I’ve been watching some of your content and must say it’s amazing!
@@TrentDressel Definitely some exciting options! I’m becoming more and more interested in the tech sales path each day. Working 40-50 hours leaves a lot more room for side hustles that generate wealth overtime and being able to still make 200-300k is unheard of with those hours. It’s awesome that creators such as yourself make this knowledge accessible as I most likely wouldn’t have taken the career path as serious without it!
Hey Trent I’m an SDR in SAAS. My goal is to become an enterprise exec in 3-5 years? Is this timeline possible and do you see the pay 💰 as an ent AE increasing or decreasing as time goes on? Software has 30% margin and tech evolves so fast I see demand for AEs increasing but will the supply of tech workers ever drive the compensation to plateau?
The concept of the job is simple but it’s not easy. No job willing to pay this much is “easy”but in my opinion it is worth it. Trent’s videos helped me make my decision.. I made the jump to software sales as an SDR in December. I’m now on the war path.
Hey bro… depends on many factors… like he said seems easy but the hard part is to get people interested… which leads us to the main thing, what product you are selling, quality, brand awareness (very important) and so on… I actually used Trent’s videos and one more Asian dude’s videos to prep for interview… and I nailed it first attempt, thanks to them tbh…as a matter of fact, direct competitor to Trent’s Qualtrics lol, going after his customers sometimes 😂 5 months so far, I Am very satisfied…
@@ajespi13 if I Am completely honest (really not being cooky here) I work actively like 4h a day, max... and still one of the best performers, maybe I found my niche finally and Am good at it naturally (have a economic degree, worked in Airlines as a supervisor before, so talking to people is super easy for me)... plus the company is not tracking our every move, as long as you produce results... so yeah, considering that I work from home and go to the office once in like 2 weeks, I would say its perfect... when it comes to pay, I won't be able to tell you anything meaningful, probably you are from USA, while I work from Europe (we have many offices, but the sdrs are in Europe).....anyway above average pay where I Am from, and if I hit 100% bonuses becomes almost 2.5 x that... hope that answers your question!
