What makes the NFL awesome is that there is no where to hide.
I distinctly remember Pat McAfee saying for years that Urban would likely not succeed in the NFL because he would not be able to control the lives of the entire team because they are adults not college kids and that grown men who in many cases have made more money and are more successful then him would see through his constant BS. Given this season it seems Pat was 100% right

Urban is a jerk and everyone knows it. People put up with him because he always wins, at least at the collegiate level. If I were one of those coaches, Meyer would’ve gotten an earful from me and possibly a knuckle sandwich.
General Patton & General McArthur were considered jerks. They were two of America's greatest generals. Greatness is misunderstood & mostly envied. Being popular is way overrated it just means you're inoffensive because you're either, mediocre or bad.

Yes Darrell Bevell has had some great offenses and yes won a SB with the seahawks and Brian Schottenheimer had possibly the best offense in football the first half of last year and the moronic seahawks thought that was enough to fire him and hire someone who has no clue what they are doing. Bevell was Russel Wilson's coordinator for the first 7 or 8 seasons of his career and has proved he is good at developing young a QB.
Russell came to Seattle already developed mostly. He turned 24 during his rookie season. He got better yes but as his salary went up, they had to discard great defensive talent.

That’s what he said. His comment about how college football coaches are feudal lords aka dictators but they’re aren’t any in the NFL…which I think is probably largely accurate bc there are frankly a LOT MORE CRAPPY NFL coaches than in college, at least in terms of percentages.

This guy is just another massively overrated college coach who got exposed in the NFL.
Urban Meyer was successful in college because he knew how to game the corrupt, broken NCAA college football system. Not because he is actually a great coach or leader. He's basically the next Bobby Petrino. Odds are he'll make it through this season and possibly the offseason, but won't survive 2022. Any longer and he'd start threatening Hue Jackson's HC records, given his performance so far.
I think Urban Meyer is an inch wide and a mile deep. This shift to pro football has moved him an inch away from the college game placing him a mile away from what he knows how to do.

It's just a shame this is happening under Dean Spanos. I am definitely rooting for Herbert and the Chargers, but I really wish you guys had a different franchise owner. Charger fans deserve far better!

It's one thing when a disgruntled player story comes out of some random blogger, talking head, or even beat writer but when it comes straight from the owner approved NFL website, you know something is really gone to south.
This is why you don’t dip into the college ranks . Nothing can ruin a franchise faster. Bad ownership. Bad decisions.

As an overseas fan, I love the Nfl. Always felt for the Jags, whereas this whole Urban fiasco just translates back up to the owner for me. As an owner, you set the tone of what’s okay and what’s not. As a jags fan we have done horrible at trading, drafting, coaching,managing, salary cap, now replacing those mistakes. Hope that Trevor gets a good shot at it before he becomes damaged goods if not already

The ONE year that USC, ND, Okla, Miami, Florida, LSU, Oregon ALL have head coaching vacancies, Urban is otherwise busy losing NFL games and destroying coaching clout. He will likely never have an opportunity to pick and choose from some of the best coaching vacancies again. John Beilein did it best when he realize very quickly that pro sports is very different and took himself out of the Cavs HC position in months. Urban might struggle to recover from this experience.
