I use a piece of pipe that just fits inside the grip, sharpen the end of it with a grinder, set it on the ground and pound it with a hammer and it cuts a nice clean hole in the end of the grip leaving the end of the grip in tact.

Try a 3\4 or7\8 inch wood drill bit. Don't remember the exact size.

Put 'em on dry with air assist, and do 2 - 3 loops of safety wire on each one to firmly secure..
I will just pull them and glue/wire them if they come loose. Just wanted to see if it would work. Will report when we get a ride in.
