The F-117, U-2, B-1, B-2 and B-52 are based at RAF Fairford so it means they can work in Europe and other continents easily and it was easy to get it to the Airshow as it was on the base

@@badgermcbadger1968 IRST doesn't just spot everything if it has to scan the same amount of sky a radar has to its not going to spot much it can however track stuff that the radar spots and if your aircraft still has the smallest frontal radar cross section of any aircraft in history (not by much) you'd be hard pressed to find this plane
Yes, flying a well-known and used route over enemy territory, with SAM and radar emplacements, for weeks in an early and slow stealth aircraft can get you shot down on occasion. Not a miracle.
So we're not gonna talk about using that logic on pretty much all other combat aircraft. Just about every other combat aircraft none of which have had to fight their way into positions as heavily defended as the F-117 have worst loss rates, I suppose they are all terrible and obsolete as well (an F-16 was shot down in the same war as the F-117. Didn't know the most widely used 4th gen was trash.
