I just want you to know that you really inspire me!!! You give me better advice than my teachers here. I look foreword to learning what I can from and I love showing your videos off to my classmates and my teachers.💙💙
Yes, speed comes from practice! I do drawing speed drills in my classes and I see so much improvement by the end of the year. I don't think speed is all that important for illustrators, but designers need to work fast, because the sketch is only 1 portion of the whole process.
Hi Zoe ! I am so delighted that I found your video on TH-cam , your video is really really helpful for me , I am now preparing an exam for the entrance of bachelor. Your video helps me a lot ,thanks so much for sharing with us , hope to see your more fantastic oeuvre
you are literally so F****** GOOD at teaching fashion design! what is this book you're working on? are you planning on doing a pay per view professional online course type of thing? please don't stop making youtube videos I have learnt more from you in the past few days than in 2 years of fashion school and a year in the industry thanks for putting things in to perspective for me in terms of failing/improving/learning/developing I feel like I am a bit less of a perfectionist now, I have your videos for guidance and you've actually been helping me with my mental health too thank you so much zoe you're awesomeeee
Great video Zoe!! Just one question (Just a random thought I had): Do any designers go their entire careers using croquis that hey didn't draw for their designs?
very very helpful thank you so much Zoe ❤❤ , Zoe could you please share the body templates you have for download, because I searched a lot and couldn't find perfect one to use and mine is not that good, and I would love to learn how to use colored pencils please make a tutorial like this one " on clothes " , this will help a lot , thanks.
I'm preparing a book of templates for sale in 2017. As for colored pencils, I never do quick sketches in colored pencils because they're too slow. But I can do a basic fashion illustration tutorial in colored pencils.
The problem with the second edition of Professional Sewing Techniques for Fashion Designers is the poor quality binding. The book is nearly $200, it's a very thick hardcover but the book winds up seperating from the cover and the binding of the content pages inside end up cracking into sections. I've had to return 2 copies of this book due to the poor quality binding. I wound up keeping the third but dread opening it because I'm afraid of ruining it. Im not sure how strong the first edition is but there are many copies around that look to be in excellent shape still. I see Reader's Digest Sewing books from the 70's of the same girth still kicking after 50 years of abuse. There's really no excuse for the publisher to cheap out on the binding of a textbook this way while charging this price point. I would look for a used copy of the first edition...the third edition is paperback.
Awesome! More, more, more! Always more, please.
❤ Shirley
You're so good. I want to design clothing just like you. Your illustrations are awesome

What takes Zoe 45 minutes takes me 4-5 hours 😂😂😂😂 and I'm fine with that. As long as I'm learning and making progress 😀
