I literally believe James and Lars saved Dave’s life kicking him out the band. There’s no way he would’ve lived long if this is his opinion to tell James how to play his own music heavier.
Daves ever expanding salt pit gave us so much metal content. His pure hate for his 'old band' brought out his best work which was a gift to metal music.

This is an old video, probably from 10-15 years after he had his problems with Metallica. 40 years later (nowadays) Dave has long stopped the grudge and moved on, even played with them on stage almost 10 years ago. 2. If you or everyone who criticise came as close as to audition for Metallica and be considered to join. He definitely remembers the name of the song, probably still remembers how to play it too. I love Dave, he reminds me of me in some ways. "Yeah I remember you, yeah it still hurts but I'll goddamned if I give you or anyone the satisfaction of knowing it."
I'm not too sure about that. Many songs got new titles after Dave left the band. For example, The Mechanix becoming The Four Horsemen, and also, the first part of Orion was originally a coda to Sanitarium... Also lyrics got swapped a lot. So it's not necessarily the case that he remembers, because might have had a different name for it, or none at all.
Lol his constant mentioning it over the last 40 years have been letting everyone know. It’s like getting dumped by your ex and you never stop talking about them and keep saying you don’t care over and over, even bringing it up all on your own.

Dave's style of playing has slides, leaps, and hammer ons that are Vitally important to the song. Yet, difficult to interpret for novices. And even some advanced players. Dave always plays outside of the box. That's what you can't forget. Dave is so unique in personality and style in life itself. And that translates into his Guitar playing. That's the way God made him. And why God gave him a specific purpose. He was never meant to be in metallica forever.
