      "Return?" The only return I see is him staying in Chess prison like a good boy and not trying to blame his friends for his situation.
      Also, this isn't Hikaru that's trying to cash in but guys that want to keep the status quo and the ACTUAL investigation for his OTB games have not been not been concluded yet.

    One of the biggest reasons they give high level players "second chances" is so that they can establish a database of confirmed cheated games that they can use to compare against suspicious games. This is super important in making their cheat detection model as strong as possible. Also super important for improving their model as they can go over those games with a fine tooth comb and improve its overall specificity.

Check out Ding, Nepo, Aronian, and Anand -- all 16 or later. For example, Nepo born 07/90, final GM norm in 05/07, almost 17 years old; Vishy was 18. @@bleepfakes if cheating more than hundred times also in tournaments with money prizes is but a mistake than no, he can not. Also it's not 'never'. Those were many, many mistakes. And I bet the only mistake he thinks he did was cheating in a way leading to being caught. If he didn't have balls to admit to all his cheating 'mistakes' when he was caught and says that it happened only couple times than he do not deserve any benefit of a doubt. Never ever.

      @@adamkowalski6061 its possible that he even got better at cheating as to not get caught. The cases such as this are not that uncommon in other spots. Because every time you cheat you get better at it. Either way he should face lawsuits and lose lot of ratings points and possibly have a ban for at least a year from competitive chess

      Cheating is rife, with many top players cheating. They didnt want everyone to know this, so by default they keep all this cheating stuff secret. Not just for Hans.
      But now they have dun goofed up and let the cat out of the bag.
      More drama to come if/when the many other names get leaked.

    data scientist here!
    This report is on point and the statistics that are coming out are fantastic. Not only can you retroactively look at statistical probabilities and come up with a very clear picture of how impossible it would be for him to do what he did, but proactively they also have AI models that can analyze your games and determine whether you're cheating based off of your body of past games. Additionally, as stated in the video, they can track when you're switching tabs (i.e. looking at another tab to get the engine move).
    This report was such a gem to read... and shows how thoroughly they monitor cheating. If anything, it should act to comfort the chess community that at least one site is looking out for the integrity of the game.
    Clearly, they can't come out and say definitively that he cheated until they have eyewitness testimony, but the statistics that have come out are overwhelmingly damning. Basically, in my opinion, either Hans is the GOAT who has an AI for a brain, or he regularly has 'outside assistance' (you decide which)
    What do y'all think of the report and the analysis?

    Cheating 100+ times should be enough to get a lifetime ban for all chess related things. Anyone that invites Hans to a tournament at this point should not be running a tournament.

  • @ferventheat
    @ferventheat ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That's cleared it pretty good. Thanks Hikaru.
    They're saying the stats say he has cheated extensively online throughout the years, and they don't think it's something he has stopped doing, but they don't have clear (any?) evidence he cheated against Magnus in the sineqfield event, or any other over the board game or tournament.
    They are well within their remit to remove invites to online tournaments and assess future invites to OTB tournaments.

    Surely it is possible to send anywhere in the world an engine set to validate any claimed rating in a rapidplay match under controlled conditions. if hans can play 2700 let him show it. similarly those other 4 suspects in the top 100. perhaps carlsen or gmhikaru could volunteer to test it.
