Guys, I'm Hong Kong Chinese. We all raised by watching Journey to the West since we were kids. We read the novel. Boys always plays predends as Wukong, the same as western kids dream of becoming superman or spiderman. Some of the details are really heart-touching; they were based on the novel. This is a big moment for the Chinese player.
Man I’m so grateful this random kid in elementary school gave me books about Son Wukong, here we are many years later potentially getting a banger of game on the mythology
@@SlyLsly lot of things i cant really tell here, but at the end is the four heavenly kings with each having their unique weapons, if i remember correctly, from the wukong tv show i watched and a movie when i was little, one has an umbrella, another a temple to seal, a sword and forgot the other one. theres also a furnace in like the middle of the vid where the little monster got like a item from it, i think that was suppose to be wukong being captured and burned alive but ultimately survives and became stronger from it, maybe I'm tripping but the four heavenly kings i am certain of

Just look it up on google and it will pop up, actually here is exactly what it says when you look it up “The latest rumors suggest that Black Myth Wukong includes over 80 bosses to defeat, in accordance with the 81 trials that appear in Journey to the West”. Also say there is 160 enemy types…. So I believe it. The devs answered lots of questions at the gamecon stuff
If this isn’t game of the year, I’m selling my PlayStation. I’ve NEVER, played a game and immediately started new game +. Then I went and started new game ++. Now I’m on my third run through. This game has got the perfect balance of difficulty and exploration, amazing graphics, incredible gameplay and a host of secrets. I’ve been so impressed with this game I’m leaving a review here because I can’t find anywhere else to shout from the hills about how incredible this is. It’s new, fun and I cannot wait for the DLC. An extra bonus if you love Chinese mythology.

You misunderstood. The 72 transformations in Journey to the West actually refer to 72 spells. The 43rd spell is called transformation, which can transform into anything. All transformations in the game belong to the 43rd spell

I just love creative games like that. Imagine how much fun it was for the 3D artists to design those monsters. No limits for your creativity. What a dream. And as a player I love to be inspired by that. Gaming was invented for games like that.
This game looks bigger than i expected. Please get me a Disc version. I hate buying Digital. It is of the utmost importance to preserve games for our future and generations to come.
Nowdays even disc doesnt grant you that they are just physical keys to your license but devs can make revoke you from that, but in any case i think they are planning physical release later on
The developers said a CD-ROM version is in the works.Because estimates of time were wrong,so it cannot be released at the same time as the digital version.But they promised the CD-ROM version will be on the shelves soon.

Maybe it's simply so difficult for a team or the company to hold on for about ten years developing a game, constantly overriting what have been created before.

It might look like a small studio because they are new and unknown to American and European markets, but the developers are all veteran creators and producers. More importantly the co-founders used to work for Tencent (one of the biggest multimedia companies, who owns 5% of the tech for Wukong) + they already have a huge amount of released games under their belt. Also, many people don't know this, Game Science has actually 2 dedicated teams. 1 for mobile games & 1 for consoles. The money from the mobile games they currently own, provide a huge money flow for Wukong. ;) Having said all that though, you can see why Billion Dollar companies, consider console games a loss in investment. The revenew made is 1000x more, for a mobile game for casuals.... So the developers decided to break off.... and make their dream game themselves.... All the hard work and credit belongs to them :) .... but they did have a jump start and backup :D
Well... Just by looking at the games this year i can tell i really doubt this games is going to win unless it becomes a solid masterpiece or simply lives up to the hype. Dragon's Dogma 2, Stellar Blade or upcoming games this year like Silent Hill 2, Hades 2 or even AstroBot XD
Already 21hours in. Literally one of the best game i have ever played, it stands with Darksouls, Witcher 3, RedDead2, GTAV... It is art, a tale and a game.
A game has to have something new to be a GOTY. I saw it in this game. I knew wukong can transform into different forms but didn’t expect to change into so many different forms. Never felt so proud of being a Chinese. Let’s goooooo wukong!!🇨🇳

I was introduced to the monkey king from the film The Forbidden Kingdom, i was 8 when i watched it. Granted, he was hardly in the movie but was fascinated by him and did research when i was around 11 or 12 was surprised it wasn't made up and read stories about him. This game is gonna give him the proper representation he deserves.
Games like this only comes once in decades. The art The culture Mysterious creatures Music Combat Its gonna be a lovely experience. Lock your room down put on some headphones, turn off lights, get your food, and your controller ❤
I feel like games are just a better medium for mythical stories the world building alone gives videogames an advantage to tell tales of mythic proportions but then again you do need to have a larger budget at your expense.

You misunderstood. The 72 transformations in Journey to the West actually refer to 72 spells. The 43rd spell is called transformation, which can transform into anything. All transformations in the game belong to the 43rd spell

It´s been many years since I have been this excited to play a game.
I just love creative games like that. Imagine how much fun it was for the 3D artists to design those monsters. No limits for your creativity. What a dream. And as a player I love to be inspired by that. Gaming was invented for games like that.
This game looks bigger than i expected. Please get me a Disc version. I hate buying Digital. It is of the utmost importance to preserve games for our future and generations to come.
Nowdays even disc doesnt grant you that they are just physical keys to your license but devs can make revoke you from that, but in any case i think they are planning physical release later on
The developers said a CD-ROM version is in the works.Because estimates of time were wrong,so it cannot be released at the same time as the digital version.But they promised the CD-ROM version will be on the shelves soon.

Considering the sheer size of current games even you use the largest discs possible, very likely you still need to download data from the internet.

Because this type of single-player 3A game is far less profitable than mobile games.
It might look like a small studio because they are new and unknown to American and European markets, but the developers are all veteran creators and producers.
More importantly the co-founders used to work for Tencent (one of the biggest multimedia companies, who owns 5% of the tech for Wukong) + they already have a huge amount of released games under their belt.
Also, many people don't know this, Game Science has actually 2 dedicated teams. 1 for mobile games & 1 for consoles.
The money from the mobile games they currently own, provide a huge money flow for Wukong. ;)
Having said all that though, you can see why Billion Dollar companies, consider console games a loss in investment. The revenew made is 1000x more, for a mobile game for casuals....
So the developers decided to break off.... and make their dream game themselves.... All the hard work and credit belongs to them :)

I was introduced to the monkey king from the film The Forbidden Kingdom, i was 8 when i watched it. Granted, he was hardly in the movie but was fascinated by him and did research when i was around 11 or 12 was surprised it wasn't made up and read stories about him. This game is gonna give him the proper representation he deserves.
The environment of this game looks outstandingly amazing and then The orchestra from 3:00 sounds heavenly. Great game 9.5/10

I feel like games are just a better medium for mythical stories the world building alone gives videogames an advantage to tell tales of mythic proportions but then again you do need to have a larger budget at your expense.
