I love how this looks like it bridges the gap between when Doomguy was trapped in hell, brought to the Priests, put in the Maykr machine to recieve enhanced strength, speed, and durability, given the praetor suit, and became the Doom Slayer during the Dark Ages before he was captured and encased in that sarcophagus he’s on when DOOM 2016 begins.

The best thing I like about old Sci-Fi is that they didn't really know what to do with space. So they threw fantasy into space. So many times I see 70s space art with astronauts on planets with white castles, or a space shuttle landing on a primitive planet with a spear elf girl on a dinosaur.
After growing up in the 90s and going through the whole violent video game revolution, it's kinda weird and badass to me that we completely embrace it now.

Idk why but that skull being pushed into that mini built in crusher and being shredded for rapid fire ammo was one of the coolest designs I’ve ever seen in a video game.
