18-55 kit lens (SEL1855) from NEX-5 paired with a7 results in disabled optical lens stabilisation. I think I got nex-5 because of your review, gave it to my girlfriend and picked up a7 for myself :).
If you want to upgrade from kit lens, 16mm on apsc is the best fov to get everyone in the picture, but I guess it depends on usage. So if you want to have that kind of option, there are basically many options: Cheaper than 300 - yongnuo 16mm f1.8 or pricier than 300 (used one I mean) sigma 16mm f1.4... Sirui sniper 16mm f1.2 is over 300 as a new lens too, newest and fastest too, which - if you got a cheap camera too - will help you get better shots cosidering iso/bokeh. Downside of sirui lens is that unlike those 2 other lenses, it cannot focus so close, which is a big downside for me, but well, it depends.
Glad to find this list since I just received a Sony ZV-E10 from Sony rewards and it didn't come with a lens. Is there a preferred use to these camara lenses? I would primarily use it for things like car photos, some video, and some close-up stuff like watches. As you can tell this is my first camara with interchangeable lenses.
The best Value is the E-10-18mm F/4 OSS APS-C 15-27mm in 35mm BUT BUT can be used on Full Frame at 12mm to 18mm (18mm if you remove the rear light shield) has front treads for filters. on full frame camera you can assign a button for APS-C or Full Frame so with this lens you have range of 12mm to 27mm. Also when in FF mode do not use the tulip light shied. I used in 2015 to 2017 before the big tank lens FE 12-24mm f/4 and f/2.8. This lens is way better for it is so small it and the camera are great on a panorama rig being so light to get great Milky Way Arch's!!!
I’m gonna buy a nex-5n with a bunch of lenses of eBay to start getting into photography (also batteries, monopod, case and I have a tripod) With all the goodies it’ll be less than $200 shipped, As seemingly an expert in all things Nex, does anything come to mind as potential inexpensive things that I might want to consider getting in addition that might improve my beginner experience? Obviously that’s super broad, but I guess I just wasn’t sure if there was something basic one outta have: /you’d recommend when they’re getting started.
@@chungusdapilot2567 same to you. The video is talking about "budget" gear where each lens varies from 50-200 dollars. I wasn't knocking your lens choice. Just pointing out that it's not exactly "budget". adding on that you're also bringing up a 850$ new body when he started the video with a 100-dollar old 10 year old NEZ5 is more odd.
@@chungusdapilot2567 wow. you really put my in my place. I also have a a6700 and just got all their newest APSC G Lenses so do I win now? I was gifting my old gear however and wanted some lower cost options to recommend. Given the video title and subject, i would not go into the comments and recommend higher end gear.
That 28 70 thing is worse than they say, it`s not even worth the 100 bucks it seems to go by these days. Its renders dead images with a terrible non correctible color cast. There is absolutely no joy in this lens, never buy.
The ttartisan's are not bad choices, as theres the 27mm and 35mm variant for 519rm and 679rm respectively, if you want the 85mm, go for Viltrox's 85mm at secondhand prices which is slightly below 1000rm, another choice if you want a 50mm is a yongnuo one for 489rm and if you are into telephoto, the cheapest on carousell right now would be a 55-210mm Sony Kit Lens for 600rm-ish.
Im not budget minded, im just clean poor.
WTF 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 that I can relate to!!
Hits me in the feels…
Rocking a budget oriented line up with my a6300, yongnuo 16mm f1.8, viltrox 23mm f1.4 and yongnuo 50 f1.8 and been getting great footage
That is a great selection!
I graduated to a a6000 camera without using my nex 5. I need to use my gear rather than not maximize their capabilities
Amen to that!

My Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 on my 5N is really sharp. Maybe I got a good copy. But I'm surprised how good it is for a kit lens.
Same with mine! It is crazy!
I love those old cams how the mount is the same size as the body!!!
Right? haha!
Thanks man! I was just planning to buy a lens for my NEX-6😀
What lens are you going to pick up?
I guess Tamron 18-200 mm f3.5-6.3 will be a good choice for me. I usually shoot nature and street
Do you have any recommendations for a telephoto lens for a sony a6300? Looking for something on the used market maybe.
Brightin Star 35mm f0.95 is a must ! and maybe the 7Artisans 10mm Asph f2.0
Such a good list, these are all ready great options. Thanks man!
Happy to help!

Slightly unrelated but do you know if the viltrox 56mm f1.7 works on an NEX 7?
What 35mm equi do you recommend for the NEX cameras
Love the small size of the 5T
You could also add the Sony 28/2
You need to buy it on used market but it is a very good lens and it is Ffull frame
I use an a6000 and a 12mm 1.2 rokinom for streaing...its perfect
Haven't tried the 12mm rokinon but would love to
Great video
Have you tried & reviewed the Yongnuo 35mm F2 for FF?
I have not! have you??

I use a 85mm Zeiss Batis and It works great for my A6400 and 700
nice lense. cost more than all these lenses covered and a camera put together.
@@darthcholo Well, I got the A6400 body new for $850, lens for $650. Also, why are you responding to an old comment???
