I think lake breakdowns are the single hardest thing to do... I think I have developed a game plan and I get to the lake and nothing looks or is as it appeared on the lake maps, and I end up having to start from scratch. Probably why I am still an amateur and you are the pro! :-)

Do an Arizona breakdown! All our lakes are more pressured than anything I’ve ever fished. For instance we have 350,000 fisherman at pleasant yearly with a friend on their boat so realistically around 500-750,000 people fishing a year. Drop shot doesn’t even work without a super small hook and thin flouro line. Then there will be 10lbers caught that day on crank baits or senko worm.

The fact that you are at least trying to help us on our local lakes is huge to most of us. Whether you are right or wrong, they are what YOU would at least try, therefore we give it the same consideration. No, they don't always work out but those spots get us to thinking about similar areas that may have the juice. Keep up the hard work and good luck on your season

I love near Shasta lake and you did pretty well for never being there. It is a spotted bass factory with some large and small mouth mixed in. You mentioned in the end top water and big swimbaits, which is what most guys are throwing right now, along with weightless senkos. Love watching your breakdowns and just how on point you were with Shasta and never actually being there is awesome! Thank you for the time you put into these videos!!

Lake Tuscaloosa in Alabama… Interested to see your thoughts, easily the worst lake in the state. 8lbs usually gets you in the money in most wildcats, 15lbs is usually caught 2-3 times a year if that. It’s very popular around here though bc it’s the only true lake within an hour of Tuscaloosa.

Edwin,I’m a 70 year old man, been fishing 50 years. I live in Ga and fished Sinclair a lot. The power plant is in operation and most anglers call to find out when there pulling water.Ga power co. There is largemouth and spots in Sinclair. The bass are up staging and some are starting to bed. Shallow areas with overhanging branches is the best places to check. It has tons of tournaments though out spring and summer. There is a lot of fishing pressure. Shad and crawfish colors works best in spring. Well got to go,oh by the way Edwin, your my favorite pro, really respect you and how you go about your business.I always pull for you and wish you the best.

Yes 🙌🏼 I’ve asked about this lake a couple time. Sinclair does have a power plant on it. Hopefully the other guys in the BFL aren’t watching this 🤣🤣🤣 but there are no spots in Sinclair. Or blue backs. Large mouth, white bass, and striper are your bass species.
But the BFL is Mother’s Day weekend and doing a makeup tournament to it’s essentially a 2 day. So what would you do in May? I’m expecting it to be a shade spawn. And then there’s always a dock bite

Great job Edwin! Yes, I’m one of the ones that kept asking for Shasta. So I am truly honored that you took on Shasta. You should be more confident because you pretty much nailed it. It’s a very big Spotted Bass fishery but with a great population of Largemouth and some smallmouth. The 2 you focused on (Squaw Creek & Big Backbone) were great choices and your reasons were right on the money. I would only add what you eluded to right at the end is that the Pit River arm is a fantastic fishery(the one with the big basin you mentioned at the end. That’s Jones Vally & where I usually launch). It’s a super deep River arm so it holds a lot of spots no matter how low it gets. I like the Pit River because it holds a ton of Shad but all those tiny creeks arms are narrow so finding the Shad is simple. Like you said as well, a TON of standing timber at any water level. You can bet that I have been busy marking waypoints on my google earth timeline. When the water goes back up it is going to be fun hitting them all. You are right, most people just don’t know how beautiful the further north part of CA is. You were also correct about the water. It’s ALL snowmelt so the Sacramento arm stays a little colder. It is also a very wild & undeveloped lake. A few springs ago I had a brown phase black bear swimming next to my boat across the pit arm. If you noticed, very few private docks other than the marinas. That’s what I love about it. Anyway, you should come out to Shasta. Pick a year when the water is up(like two years ago) and you will find it is one of the most beautiful lakes you’ve ever been on. Oh, I should mention, it does have some hogs as well. In Feb 2020 the Western Bass Trail pro circuit had a tournament on Shasta and the winner had a bag on the last day with a 12lb8oz LM and an 8lb spotted bass. Not the norm but they are in there. Again thanks Edwin, you’re probably relieved to get Shasta and me off your shoulders. 😂🤣
Congrats on your awesome tourney at Redcrest. Thanks for ALL your great content.

I'm new to bass fishing. I just started the end of last season. I caught a couple of great fish from our private lake in Northern Idaho. Now, I'm hooked! My Ol' Man bought me a Lews Smash for my birthday last December. He introduced me to bass fishing and to you.

Edwin I have fished that lake. That lake fishes like two different lakes. The water above the bridge near the power plant is more clear and there is a lot of grass. Big big largemouth! Below the bridge tends to be stained most of the time. Boat docks, sea walls and boat ramps are money. Seems like ever house has their own boat ramp. I have never been to the damn but they move water from Oconee to Sinclair then pump it back into Oconee. Great fishery and thanks for your break down. You have helped me more and more with every video.

With the lake down over 100 feet, hiking a mile or two from parking and then down 45-degree, weed-covered hills to the banks and then to the water is a significant effort. Knowing what to look for so I can plan my trek is a big help. Thanks!

Not quite as informative as lakes, but sometimes it will show when the river(s) was really low, so you can then find sand bars and hidden creek channels to exploit when the river levels comes back to normal or above normal. Awesome tips, thanks.😊
