As a PS5 only gamer that has owned both the Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 edition and the PS5 console version I personally think the console edition is not a good purchase for a few reasons. First is that the 2023 version are typically on sale for less than the $199 selling price. Secondly is that you lose 2 Esport EQ settings with the PS5 version. Razer removed the CS:GO and Valorant settings. Now I understand those were PC exclusive but now that Valorant is coming to console it would be nice to have the EQ setting especially considering the price is identical. Also why the difference in battery life. The 2023 version is 70hr across whichever platform yet the PS5 version is 48hr on console and 70hr if used on PC. I would love Razer to explain where exactly that extra 22hrs of battery life is going on the PS5 version. The overall volume of the PS5 version is also considerably lower than that of the 2023 version. Swapping both on my PS5, it was like using 2 different headsets when they should be identical. I have heard some people blame the USB -C dongle for the low volume but I'm not sold on that theory. My previous headset the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X also connects via USB -C dongle yet it's much louder. Granted it had a volume limiter set on it from the factory but once it's turned off the volume is more than enough. I looked on the Razer app for a volume limiter but it's nowhere to be found. It just looks like Razer limited the max volume on the PS5 version for some reason. The Blackshark 2023 edition have no such problem and are more than loud enough. I'm just not sure why exactly Razer made these changes that if anything just neuter the console version. Now if you are on Xbox I fully understand getting that version. For PS5 it makes no sense unless you absolutely have to use the USB-C dongle. Even then I would just buy an adapter to use the 2023 version in a USB-C port.
Damn it. Just when I thought I had it down to just one headset. Thanks for the detailed info though. Back to TH-cam and reddit looking for the perfect headset for my budget 😩
Do I get you right that you play on PS5 only and have BOTH, the 2023 PC-version and the older console version?? And you swapped it, so you played with both versions on the PS5? If so, I don’t know why I should consider buying the console version, when the 2023/PC version works on the console as well, with even better experience..
I think a lot of people overlooked them considering they are/should be clones of the 2023 version. I expected more Xbox users to review them since this is the first time they can actually use the Blackshark V2 Pro wirelessly. I used the original 2020 model on my Xbox via the 3.5mm connection
I have these and have the dongle put in the back of ps5 slim. They headset turns on and ps5 recognizes the dongle but. For some reason I’m not getting any sound/ I don’t think the headset isn’t connecting to the dongle. Any suggestions?
Just purchased this headset and all i play is call of duty warzone can anyone give me the bests custom EQ for footsteps cause for the ones that play warzone over the years the footstep audio has went to poop i play on the ps5 the sony pros were great up untill stopped connecting so bought these tonight any help with a good eq for the game id definitely be happy cause its to quite on the presets to me thanks everyone❤
@@noobkill213 thankyou. I just got the v2 pro today but using it with PS so I was wondering if I can use it on my gaming laptop. Appreciate the response.
It's a weird setup on xbox, it has a cable and 1 end is usb and the other end has the USB C in so basically you plug the adapter in the USB C end and then plug the USB end into your xbox, so yeah we have to have a cord hanging outside our xbox 🤦🤦🤦
@@mrbigtymer78 Amazon has adapters available so you can use the dongle without needing the longer cable. I bought a 2pk for like $8 to use my Arctis Nova 7X on my Xbox

With the regular 2023 version do you still get access to the app on your phone?

is there any difference between the xbox versin and the ps5 version?
From what I’ve read, the mobile app only works on the PS5 version. The Xbox has a console app for adjusting EQ settings.

If you pull off the mic cushions you can tell the difference
I am looking to buy these for my Xbox. How does the dongle work for Xbox as they don’t have any USB-C ports on their consoles.
I’d also like to know this. If you figure it out please respond.
There's a usb A to usbc cable where you plug the dongle into the port
@@AntonioPerez-fx9kx I appreciate the reply. I was figuring it was going to be some sort of cable or an adapter to make it work.
Pretty sure there's an Xbox version
It doesn't, don't buy it. I bought it and it does not work at all for xbox
With the regular version do you still keep the eq presets when you switch it over to ps5 after changing them on pc?
