I bought these headphones. I use them with my PS5 then PC almost each day. I simply swap the dongle from PS5 to PC and that is it (no messing with settings). EQ setting can be quickly switched with the button on the Right Earphone. Only complaint (minor): because the wire adjuster is not notched, the top center does tend to shift to one side or the other with use, but you don't notice this unless you feel if they are shifted with your hands.
For those who play on PS5 and own a Mac. Mic Monitor/Side Tone is disabled by default. You can't hear your own voice unless you download the free Razer Synapse software to a PC (non Mac OS) and enable it yourself. I had to download Windows 10 via bootcamp to my imac to be able to download Synapse 3 just to enable that feature. Make sure to max Mic monitor option to 10 as it's still low. The software is worth the download. For the price the headset is good. I just feel I downgraded from my Astro A50 wireless headset but the Black Shark V2 Pro's feel very comfortable, look great, and sound good. Yes...the Mic is very impressive for others listening, but the mic monitor on my end is not as clear as I need it to be. It's a bit muffled. I took off the wind cover on the mic tip to help.
Hello guys, i bought this headset.Last day and.. In a nutshell the new v2 pro is a good headset to do your job and game with decent audio quality. Connectivity flexibility, comfy and easy to use, battery life and now the massive upgrade on the mic is the thing that makes it a gaming and good all around piece. I would not suggest it to an audiophile though. Its price is kinda high but if you do not want to invest 300+ euros/dollars and use these for a good allround secondary audio device or for online gaming are a recommendation on its price class, i find them still kinda pricy though.. I did not try any other headphones. I upgraded from my last headset from ~2009 , Razer Charcharias which still work but i wanted something decent and wireless. The Audio upgrade is noticeable between those two. Also i am not a fan of Razer Synapse.
For all of the older model users I suggest that you buy discounted siren mini mic and that's it. Otherwise great headphones, I love them and use them 12hrs a day while working. 2020 model.
I might have to give these a go now. I had the 2020’s and returned because of the mic and also a slight hiss/hum consistent sound in one of the earcups when the volume knob was at 80% and higher. Hope that last thing was just that particular set.
I have the blackshark 2020 v2 pro and they are okay. Never use the mic so a mic isn’t a concern at all for me. Biggest thing I hated about them at first was the cushion ear pads it came with. But the Misodiko ear pads fixed everything wrong with the uncomfortable razer blackshark v2 pro. If you have a blackshark v2 pro buy a pair of the Mosodiko ear pads. You wont be disappointed.
Its insane. I bought the razor blackshark v2 pro 3 years ago because it has the best mic of all wireless headphones back then. But now the gap is so huuuge.
I just bought the razer blackshark v2 wired headset.... not even a year ago... i just saw an add for this headset 5m ago and looked up a review. i saw your video and had to watch. and i cant believe i feel like i need to upgrade now... but 200 is alot more than the 60 i spent on these lol
Saw that you could save your sound EQ and swap between them without synapse. Are you able to save the mic EQ and noise cancellation to the headset? Or do you have to have synapse running to get that noise cancellation to work
As soon as I heard that mic I instantly went and ordered a pair! I had been thinking of getting a wireless headphone to replace my last wired peripheral. Now the only wire I’ll have left is for the Valve Index. Which Nofio will fix soon too.
so for users with the 2020 BSV2Pro, the improvements are mic, more than double battery life (don't think you mentioned that going from 24 to 70 hours), and USB-C. i personally use an external mic so mics were never an issue for me for headsets. so mainly i'd benefit from the better battery life only. probably pass on this upgrade but good for people without the 2020 one.
It’s so cool how they have specific audio adjustments labeled in the software. This is perfect for Apex since there is 0 footstep audio in the game anyway 👌🏽. In all seriousness I’m curious how much a difference it will actually make for specific games!
Appreciate this review 100 percent. Thought it was only Bluetooth at first which had a lag (maybe because I didn’t update) now I’m updating and put the dongle in. The mic is incredible!

The fact that you can't listen to your wireless and Bluetooth audio simultaneously is a huge miss for me. So many headsets have this feature such as headsets from Corsair, Steelseries, JBL and Turtle Beach and it's a game changer once you use it. With Razer you have to listen to either your wireless audio or your Bluetooth audio, but not both at once - Razer calls it SmartSwitch. It's rubbish.
@@randrei001 For that price my favorites are the JBL Quantum 810, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 and the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7. I personally upgraded from the older Steelseries Arctis 9 to the JBL Quantum 910.

Don't get this headset! I bought it for 200 pounds, on the second day the plastic above the ear cup broke! Razer said it was still in warranty but they wouldn't replace it because it wasn't a factory fault. I told them it was a design fault and then they said it was a customer induced failure! And after a few months what was left of the plastic disintegrated and the ear cup is handing on by the pleather. The headset only lasted me a few months. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else please!

As someone who is a huge nerd when it comes to video game accessories and spends too much money on these things I can give my two cents on a few of the “top” headsets on the market right now. 1. SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless - fantastic headset. Sound quality is great but if you’re a console gamer I actually wouldn’t suggest it. What makes the headset so great is the Sonar software which isn’t available for console. You can use the included DAC to make 1 custom EQ profile and use the built-in EQ profiles and that’s about it. Still a great headset. 2. Turtle Beach Stealth Pro - Pretty much just released at the end of April and this headset is a gaming headset. Especially for console gamers. No need to use the software on PC/MAC since they have the Turtle Beach app and everything you do on the app transfers to the headset for use on console. Create a custom EQ for sound and your Mic and you even have their “Superhuman Hearing” which I say put to “footsteps” mode and lower it to 30-40% for best results. If you want a headset for single player games and FPS and you are a console gamer this is probably the top headset to get on the market but has a steep price tag. 3. Audeze Maxwell - don’t own this headset. Don’t plan on owning it. Not my style of audio but have watched a couple reviews on it and can see that it primarily excels at music/movie listening with gaming second. Software/app not as user friendly as Turtle Beach. Also not readily available to purchase. You can drop $400+ to wait for your headset to drop in June and who wants to wait that long 4. Razer Blackshark V2 Pro - my pair is arriving this Wednesday so I can’t speak on audio quality but Im curious to see how these “pro EQ” profiles sound and if they’re any good. Pretty much purchased it for that and the incredible mix quality. Notable mentions of headsets I own but didn’t talk about - Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX, Sony InZone H9, Astro A30s. All great in their own way but definitely none of them are the top tier in gaming audio if you want FPS but all pretty good for single player games. If you read all this then you made it to the end ✌️
Can you get the microphone as a standalone upgrade for those that have the 2020 model? The main reason you want the wireless SteelSeries Pro products is RANGE. You can go upstairs/downstairs and still have audio. If you have a small apartment you could likely go anywhere in your apartment and never drop connection.
Gadgetry Tech tested the new boom mic on the older model, and the quality was as bad as the original. So he concluded that the quality change comes from the audio processing chip on the newer model, and not the physical mic capsule itself.
I got the v2s back in 2020, charging stopped working towards the end of last year but luckily the warranty covered it and i wish i was given the refresh instead of a new old version 😭
As I replied to a comment thread, what really makes the 2023 version stand out is the new codec chip in the receiver. Tests have been done using the 2023 mic on the 2020 headset, with zero improvement. So yeah, the hardware receiving the audio input has a far more significant impact on a mic than the mic itself on a headset. Think going from an HTC Vive's mic, to the mics on a Valve Index.
I think the feature that let you listen to your own voice in headset may help the streamer who try to hear how they sounds inside the headset or speaker actually pretty neat feature 😮
I ordered mine. Had to make sure it was in fact the 2023 version and not the 2020 version. I used amazon instead of the local websites here. I paid a bit more, but now im sure im getting the 2023 version.
I have the Blackshark Pro v2 2020 version. I asked my friend to scroll to 3:45 in this video and compare randomfrankp's version of the Blackshark Pro v2 2020 model to how I sound in real time. I was informed I sound "way clearer" than the 2020 audio sample shown in this video. I also thought it strange that the price would not reflect this much of an audio upgrade, which is why I decided to have my friend compare it in the first place.
@@randomfrankp I was only adding input based on my experience alone. My headset experience does not match up with the audio examples in the video. If my headset actually sounded like the 2020 sample in this video, I would have no doubt made the upgrade to the Blackshark Pro V2 2023 model as I thoroughly enjoy it.

For anyone considering buying this, about 6 months of light use and the left hinge snapped off, quick search on google had many people putting this on Reddit so it’s a known defect, claimed warranty on mine after fighting customer support for about two weeks and got another pair, will see how it goes, it’s been about a month since then and it seems to be fine for now. Other than that though, just as the video says, mic on point, comfortable and easy to use. Build quality meh.
How are they holding up? I had a pair and the left hinge broke off aswell and idk if i should get a new pair or not
@@zeenicks So far they’re still perfect but I’m extra careful with them now, which I gotta say, if I have to be that concerned about it it is not worth the price tag bud and I got my replacement for free.
@@zeenicksyeah I'm looking into getting some new headphones and these seem pretty good but would suck if this is a really consistent issue
I've had 2 razer headsets the past 5-7 years. I've rocked cheaper models and never had them fall apart. It could have been an unfortunate manufacturing flaw. I will probably be getting these and hope they don't also snap.
@@sgtbob1272 been about 6 months of use with the new headset no problems so far, still handling them with care and keeping a constant eye on the hinge but it’s still going strong. Don’t get me wrong razer products are generally fine.
4 months later, how are they holding up?
What’s your opinion on the mic quality for ps5?
its absolutely insane this new headset. id love to see a comparison with the other wired blackshark v2s

2020 model.
You should've done a comparison of this and the Corsair HS80. Those two mics for wireless are insane
It's actually really sad he forgot to compare this new mic with the current king of wireless mics, the HS80
@@azenyr what about the virtuoso and the mx100/150
Because they also have bluetooth, you can use it with your phone to listen to music, HUGE UPGRADE. plus 70 hour batter, WOW MAN, THANK GOD FOR THESE!
Is it better than the artics nova 7 or the artics nova pro(when it comes to sound and just generelly)? Love your vids btw
I might have to give these a go now. I had the 2020’s and returned because of the mic and also a slight hiss/hum consistent sound in one of the earcups when the volume knob was at 80% and higher. Hope that last thing was just that particular set.
im looking at buying these and was just wondering, are these heasdsets good for listening to music also?
Thank you Frank! You sold me. Upgrading from Arctis Nova 7
Thx for the info! Is there a guide on how to remove the old ear pad?
Its insane.
I bought the razor blackshark v2 pro 3 years ago because it has the best mic of all wireless headphones back then.
But now the gap is so huuuge.
The original wired version of this headset is my favorite headset ive probably ever had for the price point.
I just bought the razer blackshark v2 wired headset.... not even a year ago... i just saw an add for this headset 5m ago and looked up a review. i saw your video and had to watch. and i cant believe i feel like i need to upgrade now... but 200 is alot more than the 60 i spent on these lol
4:09 WE'RE FLAT BACK HEAD Twin brothers :D
Do they work with Xbox series x|s PS5 PC?
ive been waiting for a wireless mic to sound this good at this price point. Great review Frank James 🦾
Saw that you could save your sound EQ and swap between them without synapse.
Are you able to save the mic EQ and noise cancellation to the headset? Or do you have to have synapse running to get that noise cancellation to work
Dude the bluetooth feature is a huge highlight. Bluetooth can connect to your phone has more range and potentially better latency... Can't skip that.
Are u able to switch the mic attachment to get that mic boost? Or is there improvements in the headphones as well?
Mic upgrade is mindblowing
wow absolutely amazing, I love being able to switch modes without software and the mic is subvstantially improved props to razer
As soon as I heard that mic I instantly went and ordered a pair! I had been thinking of getting a wireless headphone to replace my last wired peripheral. Now the only wire I’ll have left is for the Valve Index. Which Nofio will fix soon too.
Do you still use them? I want to get them but I’m scared.
so for users with the 2020 BSV2Pro, the improvements are mic, more than double battery life (don't think you mentioned that going from 24 to 70 hours), and USB-C. i personally use an external mic so mics were never an issue for me for headsets. so mainly i'd benefit from the better battery life only. probably pass on this upgrade but good for people without the 2020 one.
Is the sound good for the music and movies too ? Since i like to play it all round in my pc . Thank you
It’s so cool how they have specific audio adjustments labeled in the software. This is perfect for Apex since there is 0 footstep audio in the game anyway 👌🏽. In all seriousness I’m curious how much a difference it will actually make for specific games!
Is this good for sim racing? Sound wise ?
yes someone talk about apex. im looking for this comment.

What can you suggest for less than $200 that offers that feature?
@@randrei001 For that price my favorites are the JBL Quantum 810, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 and the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7. I personally upgraded from the older Steelseries Arctis 9 to the JBL Quantum 910.
@Frikkie Vuiltrens i just checked. I think my only issue with the JBL is, it's not something you bring outside 😅
@@randrei001 True 😁 Although I actually prefer IEMs when I want to listen to music outside - it's less conspicuous.
@Frikkie Vuiltrens it was what I liked about this blackshark v2 and their other headphones featuring the smartswitch. From where I'm from, thats a month of salary for most people thats why i prefer to maximize usage of a single device.

@@kevinahearn8764 I do mostly play FPS games and the V2 pros honestly have extremely high end audio for the price so I wasn’t surprised they are using the same drivers in the 2023 model. My main gripe was definitively the crap mic and I have had some connectivity issues with the headset but only recently. When I do upgrade my headset again I think it will be to these updated ones.
Since you have the V2 Pro, how long is the wireless range of it?
I just got the v2 pro after using the logitech g pro x wireless for years and the mic quality is literally night and day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, and very comfortable for glasses users as well.
Awesome Headset! Not for only the Mic quality but the 70 hr battery life! Great review FrankP 🔥🔥
Would this work with the series x? I would love to pick one of these up.
No.
The v2 is a good headset, but what I really hated about it was the metal adjusting thing when playing VR, it is very annoying and uncomfortable.
The eq button bit where you press it and you simulate the UI in the video, i loved it. Insta like! Thanks :)
Don't get this headset! I bought it for 200 pounds, on the second day the plastic above the ear cup broke! Razer said it was still in warranty but they wouldn't replace it because it wasn't a factory fault. I told them it was a design fault and then they said it was a customer induced failure! I took it off for the 3rd time and it broke. I had to tape it up so the sharp plastic left over wouldn't cut my head! And after a few months what was left of the plastic disintegrated and the ear cup is handing on by the pleather. The headset only lasted me a few months. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else please!
make a video pls proof
@team91_ I'm not making a video to prove that. You either believe what I said, or think I'm lying about my experience to strangers on the Internet for what ever reason. The choice is yours
@@saucylemon4331 Noone really cares that you got this issue, noone else has reported anything even close to this, after 3 days, theres no way this can be a factory issue, youre just mad that you broke the headset, and that they know and wont replace it. Stop spreading bullshit
@l1nked712 yes like I said it doesn't benefit me to make shit up so yes it did break after the 3rd day.
You can look online and see mountains of pictures with this headset with the snapped plastic thing that holds the cup. It's shitty design not factory issue. My issue isn't that they said it's not factory issue. My issue is that it wasn't fit for purpose and they wouldn't replace it. And also, fuck you.
@l1nked712 anyway they eventually did replace the headset. It's still a good headset despite this critical design flaw.
with bluetooth added now, i hope it can seamlessly switch between 2 audio sources (PC and PS5 for example) or PS5 and your phone
NEVER buy Razer audio gear. Mice and keyboards are fine. You've been warned

Razed keyboards 🤢
buying razer is like buying landfill, all their products are hot garbage especially headphones, I pity people who use gaming headsets instead of getting something like audio technica or sennheiser
Hyper X or Logitech is much better than Razer.
You can drop $400+ to wait for your headset to drop in June and who wants to wait that long
If you read all this then you made it to the end ✌️
how do you compare these with the arctis after listening to both?
whats the range ? i need a headset that sounds good and can allow me to move around the office. say like 60+ feet
This channel name has to be the silliest channel name for a tech channel i have ever come across
Just got the 2023 white edition and definitely the best headset/mic I've ever had Highly recommended these for sure
Wished you went a bit more into the sidetone quality of the headset as it is something that is difficult to find
I literally said wow when you switched from 2020 mic to 2023 mic. What a difference holy crap.
I got the v2s back in 2020, charging stopped working towards the end of last year but luckily the warranty covered it and i wish i was given the refresh instead of a new old version 😭
Do the settings from synapses app save to the headset for those who play on console
So happy you compared these to the Arctis too since they were on my comparison list. Looks like I'm getting these!
I got the 2020 version and the bass sounds amazing and full. I think having a Quad Dac build in my smartphone helps.
Just bought mine a few months ago. Now I have to "upgrade" it to the new, that mic leap is epic... :)
The mic upgrade is very impressive!
I think the feature that let you listen to your own voice in headset may help the streamer who try to hear how they sounds inside the headset or speaker actually pretty neat feature 😮
Going with an all Razer setup might not be that bad now. The best Mice on the market, great keyboards and the mic sounds excellent on this headset.
I ordered mine. Had to make sure it was in fact the 2023 version and not the 2020 version. I used amazon instead of the local websites here. I paid a bit more, but now im sure im getting the 2023 version.
Was gonna get the steel series. dont really care about the microphone. but its very clear to me what razer has set there priorities for gaming
I also thought it strange that the price would not reflect this much of an audio upgrade, which is why I decided to have my friend compare it in the first place.
...so you're insinuating what exactly?

I was only adding input based on my experience alone. My headset experience does not match up with the audio examples in the video.
If my headset actually sounded like the 2020 sample in this video, I would have no doubt made the upgrade to the Blackshark Pro V2 2023 model as I thoroughly enjoy it.
Thank you for this really great review, you also compared it against the Steel series Arctis Nova Pro Wireless which was the model I was about to get. But this BlackShark V2 is much more affordable and the mic..wow.
So many things i miss from this review.. Do it got its own USB for the PC? Do it work with just a cable.
