Hi I'm new at hosting servers and i badly want to host a server for my friend and i but im having problems with the port forwarding part in my router it has different things to enter (e.g. start port & end port for local and external) it would look like this ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local || External ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ip Address || Start Port || End Port || Source Ip || Start Port || End Port || Protocol ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Something like this I've tried multiple ways and can't seem to get it working i would've appreciate it if you could help me p.s. Great video it helps me a lot
Hey thanks, I will try my best to visualize what you have described. So try these settings. Local Ip Address : INPUT your HOST's LOCAL IP start port: 8211 end port: 8211 Source IP: Leave blank if it's not then HOST's Local IP(Same as above) Start Port : 8211 End Port : 8211 Protocol : UDP , IF routers allows to have both UDP and TCP, choose both. Explanation: From my understanding, Local IP address is the receiver address from the External IP, it would make more sense to assume Public IP is your external IP, that is why i suggest you try leaving it blank first so that your router automatically uses your public IP as external IP. Unless the router's manufacturer has a different meaning for external IP. Let me know how it worked out for you. Cheers!

Yes, you will be able to copy your progress over with some troublesome editing to the files. But I really wouldn't bother. As for duckdns, it acts like a bridge constantly updated with your public IP, so if your ip changes(dynamic IP) your friends will still be able to connect via the duckdns domain after it gets updated with the new public IP.

@@humbleDK thanks i got it to work. it was weird cause before i could paste in what you have it auto ran. so i tested it with the settings changed and it worked so its all good. thanks for the video. and sorry i hate programing in any form and gets under my skin quickly. its why i dont touch mods most of the time. if it isnt drag and drop or a button i dont do it but i do like this game and really want to play with my friends so thats why im doing this. have a great day.
@@zerodawn09 Yea it can get irritating and frustrating. Anyways no worries. Glad you got it all sorted. I hope you have a great day too!
why do we have the same ip in game?
What do you mean?

No worries!
Perfect man, thanks for the information
Happy to help!
will the server stay running if the host is not online ?
The server will have to stay running. Not the game, but the server.
@@humbleDK and how would that work ? would the person who made the server have to be on ? or how would it be kept running ?
@@fbreezy4946 The person who hosted server will have to keep his PC with the server running.
i can play multplayers?
Yes you can!
Awesome video, thanks!!
Does anyone knows if I can send the dedicated server files to my friend, so he can host the game if I can't one day?
This is not possible with the current state. Moving server files from one windows OS to another windows OS forces the player to create a new character even you're just moving server files. This is weird I know. However I have read that Linux servers do not have this issue.
@@humbleDK thank you for answering this question, we wanted to play even if my friend log off his pc. but now i know this, maybe we dont need the dedicated server
I tried moving the entire server folder to my home PC then run it, it works but I haven't tried multiplayer yet so I don't know if other people can continue where they left off
This is the most complicated BS ive ever seen to try and host a damn server dawg
Hi I'm new at hosting servers and i badly want to host a server for my friend and i but im having problems with the port forwarding part in my router it has different things to enter (e.g. start port & end port for local and external)
it would look like this
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Local || External
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ip Address || Start Port || End Port || Source Ip || Start Port || End Port || Protocol
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something like this I've tried multiple ways and can't seem to get it working i would've appreciate it if you could help me
p.s. Great video it helps me a lot
Hey thanks,
I will try my best to visualize what you have described. So try these settings.
Local
Ip Address : INPUT your HOST's LOCAL IP
start port: 8211
end port: 8211
Source IP: Leave blank if it's not then HOST's Local IP(Same as above)
Start Port : 8211
End Port : 8211
Protocol : UDP , IF routers allows to have both UDP and TCP, choose both.
Cheers!
@@humbleDK Thank you so much, works perfectly!
i have a doubt. can i friends connect and play even if im offline and im not using my device ?
If you're offline in game, but still running your dedicated server keeping it online. Yes your friends can still connect and play.
@@humbleDK oooh I see. Is there any method that u suggest to keep the server running 24/7 with third party or something
wait how do you change the exstentsion
Do I have to keep the Batchfile open continuously for my server to be running?
Notice it only works for me that way.
Your batchfile is essentially a shortcut + arguments (commands) to launch your server. So yes, you have to keep that running. Cheers!
Me again so i did everything the guide suggested and then some and no matter what they cant connect to me they just get connection timed out message
If you have a small group, this is a more user friendly solution.

Skip to the part where I showed how to setup Radmin.
So say I start a server with the 30 or 60+ people do we all only get 1 base or do you still get all 3
Hey, each guild gets 3 bases as you level up your first base.
Hello! I've been trying to troubleshoot, I think I did all the things correctly, but on the hosting computer can connect to the server. If you could please recommend a course of action, swiftly losing my patience with hosting this game, but the lag from playing through invite code is too much to deal with as I have satellite internet
no more tof exploration content?
Hey Edo! Thank you for staying around! Unfortunately im slowing down on ToF due to personal commitments. =(
if you dont have a saved folder make sure you reopen the palworld dedicated server again and then close it. It should appear

CreateBoundSocket: ::bind couldn't find an open port between 27015 and 27015 ??
Most probably you have the server executables running. Close everything and run on 1 server. Cheers.
idk why but i already try every method available in the internet. not a single one is working, already port forwarding, setting rules in firewall, i even clean install windows since i though it might be my system is the broken one. but still nothing works XD

Humble, my pc shut down randomly and when I tried to open the server back up I just couldn’t. I’m not sure if that happened to you but do you have any tips?
Hey if your PC shuts down randomly then there's probably some issue with your hardware. My server doesn't shut down randomly. Cheers.
When I connect duckdns account, even though I have entered the correct token and domain name, the message shows unable to reach duckdns
Did you check for spaces before and after?
I have a world that i created solo. Is it possible for me to copy my progress over onto the new dedicated server i just started? I know that ive heard of people being able to do this. Also, Now that ive created the dedicated server, does my PC have to be on with duck DNS running in order for people to log on?
Yes, you will be able to copy your progress over with some troublesome editing to the files. But I really wouldn't bother. As for duckdns, it acts like a bridge constantly updated with your public IP, so if your ip changes(dynamic IP) your friends will still be able to connect via the duckdns domain after it gets updated with the new public IP.
cant seem to get the duck site to give me the download, used wayback machine but prog wont load to install
Hey Pirate, try this link.

I still can't see my server name in the community section. However it appears the server works. I appreciate this tutorial. I sadly have no one to try and check that it fully works but can get on so thats a start =P lol
Hey thank you. It's almost impossible to find your own server on the community tab just by refreshing or filtering the names. This is because the community list is designed to show 200 results per refresh only. Unless you're really lucky. I myself have a server running 24/7, I do get randoms joining the server on a daily basis.
hello sir,
I follow exactly like in the video untill 4:10
but cannot get into the game.
i also try both ip address 127 & 192 both can't connect.
please help me sir
Did you launch your server?
Thanks bunches!
You're welcome!
I'm assuming this wont work with my friends who have...xbox,huh
Unfortunately yea...
I did everything (steam method) but me and my friend cannot find my server under community servers……we’ve tried everything :/
You won't be able to find your server under community servers, the community server list is currently not optimized as it only shows 200 results every refresh. You may find your server at battlemetrics.com
If your friends are trying to connect to your server. Either use direct public IP or via a subdomain as I have discussed in the video. 4:10
what if you dont have the palworldsettingsinine??
Run your server once to have the files generated. Cheers.
silly question because this is my first time but do you need a separate pc to make a dedicated
server ?
no
Hey, so I have a question if anyone can answer. I've followed all the steps, but I cannot make any changes to the settings of the server. I figured it was the .ini file that I pasted the default settings into, but none of the changes I have made on that file actually followed through to the game. Any help?
Check the directory of the palserver.exe you are launching. You may have two servers folder installed and you're making changes to the one you're not launching.
I get an error saying "windows cannot find C:\program", any help?
will respond asap
Which part of the setup are you currently at?
@@humbleDKfigured out the issue
in the bat file, if the file directory has a space in it it wont read as the full file directory but rather only everything before the space
i.e c:\program files(64x)\steamapps
it would get cut off at program because theres a space
solution? add quotation marks to the file directory parameter like this
start c:\"program files(64x)\steamapps\common\palserver\palserver.exe" (other parameters go parameters go here)
Im getting "your connection to the host has been lost "
Hey, you can try this method as well.
th-cam.com/video/FrXw1uveHrY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RTTx3WQsGr1qwXJN
How do you invite friends to play using this method, ive tried the ip the server is and the end user is getting connection time out errors?
If your friends tried to connect via your public IP, assuming they have the correct public IP of the server and the correct ports, yet they are still unable to join. This is potentially caused by your ports not being forwarded correctly. This is being discussed at 6:20.
My server shows in the server list on the website you provided. Called into my ips said they dont go through cgnat. He also helped with the port forwarding. UDP states all ports are open but my friends still can not connect. Im stumped
If that's the case, you may want to narrow it down to your OS. Check your firewall and try port forwarding via netsh as well.
Is there a way to allocate more RAM to the server and if so how?
Whether you like it or not, palworld will gulp up every single drip of ram you have on your system. Hence system ram allocation isn't an issue here.
were still getting timed out
Try this out. th-cam.com/video/FrXw1uveHrY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZWHWFQ7s-HkMotO_
how to update the server to the latest update?
Hi! Same strings as shown in 1:46

everytime I go to launch the server after during the batch file step it just says setting breakpad minidump
and also my text file isnt switching to .exe so I dont know what im doing wrong

Now im having an issue where when I try to launch the server like you did from the batch file it just doesnt do anything besides say breakpad minidump
It shows breakpad minidump AppID = XXXXXX everytime you fire up the server. So that's normal. Now next you'll just have to connect to your server.

Is there anyway to move a save file from the Palworld files to the Palworld server files? I'm not seeing a save file in the Palworld local files at all.
Hey yo, your save files are located under ...\steam\steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\0...
That being said, transferring server progress currently between computers is not possible even though files are exactly the same. I have heard success with linux servers to linux, but definitely not windows to linux or windows.
Im having the same issue, there are only three folders under \steam\steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\ and the Saved folder isnt one of them. @@humbleDK
